  • If you are looking for an engine drive there are a lot of things to think about when choosing. Austin wanted to snag a Lincoln Electric Ranger 330 MPX because it is 20% smaller and lighter than other machines in its class with an impressive duty cycle of 330 amps at 100% so you can weld at full power without worrying about burning up your machine.

    Is it chinisium?
My Lincoln Tig roasted a rely within three months of light use.
The only Lincoln dealer willing to send it to be fixed was sixty miles away. A few weeks and it came back a whole new unit. With the same cover.
Seems it’s cheaper to toss and replace than fix.
I had an original portable stick unit similar to what’s in the video years ago. Made in the USA and worked great.
Had I known the tig unit was made in China I would have saved up for a Miller instead.
Bottom line: Just because it has an American name, doesn’t mean it was made here.
Make America great again, buy American.

Furthermore if you can’t find something new made in US buying used US made products are often even better than todays in reliability

Looks nice and all but anything new is a depreciating asset I’ll stick with my 250 Ranger for building barns until you decide to get rid of it I might buy it then 😅

If it ever dims outside you won't be able to strike an arc at all

Yes, it literally has a screen 📺 on it. I will admit they actually put effort into these models. No regrets on mine.

@the_yokai No. When computers are added to machines, performance problems can/will happen.
Anything happens to that computer in the field, and you are miles from anywhere, suddenly you can't work!
