I didn't mind the aesthetic of the Apple Watch 8 and it had all the function of the ultra.
I got real lucky over the weekend and capitalized on an open box sale + Best Buy sale of 70$ off. Ended up getting an untouched openbox Apple watch 8 for 280$ which was very close to the price of a new SE 2.
Going through all the functionality and I can clearly see where it can help me clean up my bad habits.
Wanted to also say thanks for plugging Athlytic. I loved the whoop functionality despite hating the service cost and I'm VERY happy to see that there's an Apple Watch App equivalent that is much less expensive.

Yeah if you like it then get it 100%! We all have different tastes/style… can’t hate on that!
Woah… that’s a steal! Especially for something that will help you reach goals and add value to you!
Of course man! Glad it helped. I know that was a big win for me (finding that app) or else I would have felt like the watch was “missing something” being used to the whoop!

I Got series 8 and it's less than half the ultra price, does 99% of ultra stuff apart from a battery time.

Probably but like I said in the video. I’m not an Apple Watch guy. I’m an Apple Watch ultra person… I like watches and this was the first smart watch that I would actually wear

would you say the apple watch has an accurate HR detection though? I feel like whoop is a lot more accurate?

I switch from Samsung Ultras the system I use from the start to Apple system just because of Apple watch Ultra, now I only take the phone out when necessary and enjoy the world more, I wish there is a camera with the watch and I will ditch taking the phone out, I need the camera for emergency proof or communication

  • @Whatmobiledeal

I have the ultra and it lasts me consistently 3 FULL days (lasted 80 hours before switching itself off). Obviously if you use it on cellular and leave your phone at home, you won’t get 3 days, more like 1. Still way more than a standard Apple Watch though 😊

How do you, or anyone else reading this, go with wearing the watch all day and night? I have an issue that after a couple of days the knuckle just at the base of my thumb starts hurting and the longer I wear it the more intense the pain to the point where I could not do pushups, when I take the watch off, even just for one night, the pain goes away!!!!!! I have tried wearing the watch on my right side and no issue but I have a full sleeve tattoo that comes down very low on the right arm so I can't leave it on the right arm.🤷‍♂

I got one of the first Samsung watches about 9 years ago - had a similar experience and haven’t worn one since then..just got an ultra today been on for about an hour so we’ll see what happens🧐😬🫡😂 🍻

I’m also canceling my whoop for the ultra. Do you miss the Whoop or is the athletic enough ? Thanks

Good call! Not one bit tbh. Athlytic is plenty and I actually really like how I can look at my stats on the watch rather than my phone!

  • @jeremycush

its just a shame your forced to use ear buds to hear your music or any radio apps , other watches allow music from its speaker , apple watches have good speakers but only for phone calls , walking the dog means ear buds which is a pain

3-5 days??? I have an Ultra and love your enthusiasm. Solid review and love how you show your apps and screens.
But calling BS on your battery life claims. It does not last 5 days. 120 hours? Come on. Not even 4. 3 full is a stretch.

    • @techlift_
      @techlift_  Год назад +1

      That’s what mine does bro!😂
3 days with heavy activity use… 5 if I don’t run any… keep in mind I am always doing something so the furthest I’ve gone is 3 days (vacation) and I still have maybe 40% left. Just my experience

@@techlift_ Ok. I am beyond skeptical but let me ask
      Always on display on?
Your dominant or non dominant wrist?
      Any settings off?
      Sleep tracking being used?
      It’s on your wrist 24/7?

    • @techlift_
      @techlift_  Год назад

-Yes it dims when I’m not looking at it, turns on when I look at it if that makes sense
-it’s on my left hand (non dominant)
      -sleep tracking used
-on my wrist besides when I shower (this is when I charge it) or I’m out to dinner or event when I wear a normal watch

@@techlift_So you are still charging it every day when you are showering. So the 5days is false . Don’t charge it when showering and see how long it lasts

I give 3 days for it to last any longer I doubt it regardless even if you do no workouts just use it normal e.g time and notification 😅
But I have accepted all AW last a day basically charging everyday plus only the ultra does more but not in enough to last like my garmin enduro 2 32days 😂
😅AWU does one thing I love nice big manly size plus loved the LTE nice to know you can go on a jog without the phone plus Apple Pay
    For my usage
