Came across this video a couple of days ago for the first time and to my surprise, saw you depart CYCW this morning. Beautiful bird, nice climb out too!
Are you approaching at 60mph or do you slow from that? Do you prefer 3 point or wheel landing? I find that flying slower than 60 the pitch attitude is starting to get nose high and it takes a big effort to push the tail up for a wheel landing after arresting the decent rate in the flare. What is your preference?
I initially set up at 60mph and then slow to 55 or even 50 if the winds are predictable. Flare and touchdown around 40-45mph. 3 point if you want it short. Wheel landing if you want good visual and to protect the tail
Beautiful plane. What version and year of 108 Is this ? I am a private pilot in Chile and also exist a few Stinson 108 fllying in muy country. Thank's Gary.
Very nice video! I've been looking at a 108-3 and would love to hear your thoughts on that big tail. As much as I dream about bigwheels, the truth is I would mostly use it on floats, and maybe a bit of skiis.

😮😮
It will climb out around 1800 initially. Will check that out next time usually always loaded. Cruise at altitude was about 7.5g/hr. US gallon
I know it's kinda randomly asking but does anybody know of a good place to watch newly released tv shows online ?
@Mitchell Lyle flixportal :D
Where is you get the droop tips for the wing? Tire and wheels?

Awesome aircraft. What kind of performance numbers do you see with the 210hp engine? Climb rate, cruise, fuel burn?
I have the IO-360. Fuel injected 210hp
Gary Marshall Did it come that way or did you do the STC?

Horacio Barros Q this is a refurbished 108-2
It’s a refurbished 108-2 with the continental IO-360 etc
Hi, where did you get your tires? Is the suspension modified at all?
The Alaskan Bush Wheels are from Airframes Alaska and the suspension is original
This one is a 108-2 built 1949. Of course refurbished later on
Gary Marshall How is that different than the 108-3?
The 108-3 is almost identical except for an upgrade to the spar and the large tail. Not a fan of the big tail

What STOL kit do you have on this?
Really nothing other than VG kit which only reduced stall slightly. Just a good deal of practicing technique.
I ordered the VG kit from Micro Aerodynamics
