I had the small size Annie. Got her from my dad's youngest brother when I was small, around three maybe. She was the doll I got to keep the longest, and after awhile I started to love her. But then my mom decided she was too worn out and threw her in the trash. And I saw my Annie in there and knew I couldn't get her back. It's been a long journey, and a lot of bought and rejected or even made and rejected Annie dolls, but I just this weekend found a hand made Ann, who doesn't look just like my old Annie, but she is small, and beautiful, and I feel like I have my old friend back.
I am so glad you found one. It really does seem like having an old friend back, doesn't it? I sure do love mine. Sadly mine was not worn out, my mother did it out of spite, like a lot of things she did. Oh well, that's the past! I'm just so glad we both found one like we used to have.
My grandma had an oversized one just like this but Andy also ... One day she said she gave it to a friends daughter I would love to have my Annie back also she was my friend when I was little all the toys couldn't add up to how much love I had for ann

Yes, but she is still just a Raggedy Ann doll. Annabelle is not every Raggedy Ann doll.
I'm so glad you got another one, she is wonderful. I have mini ones and I think 18 inch ones, but I'd love to have one this size for sure.

Just saw your video and its August 25, 2020...I am SO SO sorry that such an event happened to you. My mother took things away too but she kept them for herself.

What an evil mom you had doing something like that. I guess mu mom was opposite. When I turned aeven ,she actually made me one herself. I loved it. And she never ever took it from me.
I am so glad you had a good mom who made you one! My mother could sew, but I guess I had a fit about homemade clothes when I started school - or so she said - so she would never make me anything after that. Raggedy Ann is such a special doll that all kids deserve to have one!
Dolls is our first bestfwend that never to forget..my fistdoll ive forget her now because im old enough to play with but when i saw one day i almost remember all i saw a doll in olX then i buy.childhood days is the most valuable things in our life most happy days of our life...so those toys maybe for the others is wasted but for those people who value their past. toys are not a waste they remind the happy innocent times of our life..❤❤❤

She's so beautiful! I'm sorry you had a mom like that. Honestly I did to. My mom always took my animals and hid them from me until I got my Scooby-Doo plush. I was a huge fan so my grandma took me to an eye appointment but before we went to the appointment we stopped at a thrift store but that store closed down soon after. I remember walking in and seeing him. My grandma got him for me instantly and I've had him ever since.

That doll is so beautiful. I do remember that when I was a child, stuffed animals and dolls were burned on purpose when smallpox was ripping through neighborhoods. Not sure why your parents did that... just know that there may have been some paranoia regarding health (?) It is nice to see you enjoying the new (vintage) doll. I also saw that Simplicity has a doll pattern that makes a 36" raggedy ann or andy doll.

How do you clean them. We have an old one the same but needs cleaning up.
Hii, I have one, we first took the clothes off and washed them by hand, then we waited 2 hours then we washed the doll itself we washed it by hand again don’t put it in the washer could break? Then we put it in the dryer!
Sounds like a you a truly traumatic childhood, I'm so sorry. I'm happy you managed to get a replica of your cherished doll, I hope it brought you some closure.

Why did she do that?
I don’t know. She did many things that I don’t understand. In elementary school I would come home to find my room trashed. Mattress and box spring on the floor. Clothes dumped out of the dresser and ripped off hangers. All she said was you better get this room cleaned up before your dad gets home. That was the beginning. It escalated from there.
