Explaining A.I bike fit | At home bike fit with Apiir.

- Apiir asked me if i would like to test out their at home bike fitting app and i thought it would be a good opportunity to see how these work and perhaps demonstrate how this works so you can decide whether something like this is for you.
Ive tried to break everything down so that you can see more about what it is thats involved and also whether you think a product like this suits your needs. The bike fit itself was provided by Apiir.

You have a 60 day period now to make changes to your position and re-test using the AI technology.
The benefits are that you get the chance to ride and retest without having to go back to a store or a bike shop for a consultation with a bike fit professional. Ive tried to break this down as best as possible to give you an insight into the world of AI bike fits.

Really clear and thorough walkthrough - thank you! The app seems like a good sense check of rider position. I feel too many bike fitters want to make fitting seem like a mystical art that only they can truly understand. I hope the app will help demystify things and give new riders more confidence to trust their own feelings

I wish bike geometry was better. All the websites say I should be a 54 medium (I'm 5'9"). I went to a bike shop to try a Specialized Allez and the 52 small (5'4" to 5'7") fit me perfectly. Without checking I would never have thought a bike "meant" for someone 5" shorter than me would fit. For reference I also tried a Trek and a Giant and I found the small fitted me best as well.
I agree- I have a RUclips channel, I watch a lot of cycling content, I’ve had two bike fits and I still find it overwhelming.
With one piece bar and stems, it’s just all the more important to get a feel for your bike before you buy it.
What stem did you get? And what’s your stack height?
Added to my watchlist for later, but I’m curious if this could be a good solution for new cyclists to try finding which bike size would fit for them. Then later down the line dial it all in perfectly with a real fitter.
That could be a really happy solution in my mind
I think this is really what something like this is about- you’ll see that it’s not without some limitations but for costs it’s worth considering to help you get correct bike size and maybe even help you dial it in
