I’m a happy camper if I get to be laboring 1:1 for my whole shift! So used to laboring 1:2 that being 1:1 is a treat!
i'm spoiled rotten here then. i haven't had two patients at all during this assignment *knocks on wood*
Just found your channel and I’m loving it. I love seeing other black nurses that vlog like me. 🥰🥰Keep the videos coming. #blacknurseskillingit #blacknursesquad
thank you jenean!
You Inspired me to post my first YT video of my experience as an L&D nurse. Look forward to seeing you around if you still in Texas next year 🥂💋
no way! i'm going to go check it out now
keep doin your thing girl👏🏾❤️
thank you grace :)
Love this travel series! Im transferring from med Surg to L&D in Jan 🤗🤗 what shoes do you wear? I’m loving yours on this vid
I am a new nursing student and I want to be a traveling and labor and delivery nurse and I'm so glad that I found your channel and your Vlog it has helped me out a lot
yesss bagels!!
my ideal shift is an induction! more time to educate, lots of time for pt to rest, lots of time to chart.lol
any day a cervadil induction is usually a good day 😂
I can’t wait until after beauty school I am go to nursing to become a travel labor and delivery nurse
Where did you purchase your scrub jacket and what color are they? Also what size do you where in your scrubs? I'm new to L&D currently on orientation. I know the hospital only provide the scrubs. I will be given access to choose my scrubs on Friday. Thanks in advance.
My ideal shift is an induction as I work 12s most days or I’ll get a scheduled csection if I work and 8 that I have to prep, circulate, recover and transfer. I’m a bit younger than most women I work with so they like to put me in the OR because I’m quick with documentation. Some nurses I work with have a hard time with the charting. I definitely get a 530 admit in active labor most days I have schedule c/s in the morning lol 😂
inductions are always nice except when your cervadil induction turns into an active labor unexpectedly 😂😂
@@NurseAggz lol when they put those cervical balloons in those multips lol 😂 I just set up the cart for an expected delivery!
Amazing vlog so glad I found you subscribed. Which brand nursing shoes are they? They’re gorgeous
Great vlog as always 👍🏾👏🏾🤗
thanks for watching mellonee!
Selfishly my ideal shift is a pit induction with and epidural and cat 1 strip who sleeps and doesn’t deliver 🤪🙈 Rare, I know.
😂😂 we love a cat 1 tracing 😍
I really enjoyed your video. Great channel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Greetings from Albania. 👋🏼🇦🇱
thank you! :)
Would u ever do a meet and greet in Houston or a nurse network event!? That would be dope 😄
aww, that is so sweet, but idt i'd have a turn out 😂
As a L&D nurse do you have to work regular nursing first or can someone in that specialty go straight into the field?
I’m currently a Tech on Medsurg, really hoping to get into L&D. What does a Tech usually do on L&D?
they help set up rooms for delivery, transport patients, run labs, provide perineal care at some facilities.
I'm in my nurse residency...any hints for remembering all the key times to jot down???🤯
I write on my scrubs but we don’t have a machine that tracks the scrubs so they would never know it’s me.
Or the other thing I do is hit the marker on the electronic fetal monitor which will mark on the paper the time for you then you can go back and chart
if you're in labor and delivery you can mark your strip. if i mark the time when one thing happened i'll use that to direct the rest of my charting around a certain event. for example, if a patient had a prolonged deceleration, i'll mark on the strip when i was at the beside and maybe when the doc came into the room. then when im charting the interventions i did i'll know what time i did them. i hope that makes sense.
Sooooo I’m a new grad! And my first day on the L&D unit is the 17th!!! I’m so nervous but so excited at the same time and was wondering how long do you think I should work as a staff L&D nurse before transitioning to L&D travel nursing?
Congrats love. I’d say 1.5 years minimum ❤️ enjoy
❤❤❤ thank you for sharing
GREAT VIDEO...WHAT KIND OF CAMERA DO YOU USE
thank you renetta. i use the canon g7x mark ii and my iphone
Lol. My house is obsessed with bagels, too. Blueberry to be specific.
Nurses that check the babies vitals after delivery, what title do they have? Are they considered a neonatal nurse?
A nursery nurse or transition nurse. Sometimes the labor and delivery nurse does it though.
I’m currently in L&D and interested in travel. What agency are you currently with? Or which would you recommend?
hey santana. i went through trusted health. hmu directly when you plan on traveling and I can refer you
@@NurseAggz Ok I have more question so I will for sure message you directly!
Do you catch babies as well?
I have but normally no. Only if the doctor or midwife aren’t there to catch.
@@NurseAggz I meant do nursery. I have never worked in nursery nor assessed a baby.
@@sunkissedrn4027 not at the hospital I’m currently at. They have a transition nurse.
