Youngest granddaughter is a brand new (7 months) BSN RN Labor & Delivery nurse. Due to number of nurses leaving to do traveling, she immediately was placed on full time day shift L&D at a Magnet hospital.
Thanks for watching. A lot of nurses are leaving bedside because of advance practice or for travel due to burn out and increase salary. Hope she is handling it well and best of luck to her
@@fromcnatonp She is really strong and smart. She played Division One soccer in college and graduated Summa Cum Laude from an 11 month, 8 day ABSN course during COVID. so most instruction was on line. She is newly married to a really fine young engineer. Taking it one day at a time.
I’m so nervous about travel Nursing. I feel like they get the most difficult assignments. I appreciate the autonomy that Midwives have in Jamaica 🇯🇲. Far less resources and the outcomes are great.
A lot of travel nurses say they don't. I did agency before and I would get the patients that had the difficult family members. I do hear that midwives in Jamaica have a lot of autonomy.
That so cool that your mother and her grandmother were nurses in Jamaica. Love her resilience in applying over and over again. Great story too lol 😂. Thanks for sharing
Gurl! I have been traveling for 8 years now as Labor nurse and medical surgical! Yes travel nurses get the worse assessments. Once you pick up more assignments you will experience much more! Welcome aboard!

I absolutely loved this video! I just had my maternal clinical and loved it so much. I was able to see a cesarean and a vaginal birth in one day. I'm highly considering going into L& D because of my experience. Thank you so much for this video.
I’m a Jamaican new subscriber, I’m a NP now looking forward to do the degree then Bs in Gerontology. I hope to pass the overseas examination in the future and work and live there.
Love this video! I am going into an accelerated program in January. I will graduate with my bachelors in December, so I will have about 2 weeks of break
Thanks for watching, if I find nurses who want to share about travel I sure will, I have never done travel nursing so I do not know much about it. I have done agency nursing in my home state. All the best.
@@fromcnatonp Come this far by faith and still leaning on God to take me through year 3 & 4. I am encouraged when I see fellow Jamaican ladies succeeding and creating an impact. BLESS UP..
I’m interested to be Labor and Delivery Nurse

Travel nurses do get the special end of the stick positivity is nice but denying other people's realities is not.
I have a question: how many years of experience would you need before applying to L&D travel jobs?
One year
