  • Hi Guys i wanted to show a quick video on these amazing socket holders. They are the best I found so far IMO. You can turn them completely over and they will still stay in the holes. i bought these on Corey at S&A Auto Amazon store. Here is the link so you can buy them as well and more of Corey's favorites. These will hold chrome and impact sockets. Thank you for the support and watching.

The best thing is you can just grab the entire rack and stick them onto the underside of the car and don't have to worry about having to crawl out from under the car whenever you're missing a particular size. Also by having the rack under the car, you can just put the socket back into its correct spot, so you don't have to worry about sockets rolling away and getting lost. And yes, all those 30 secs searching for crap adds up. Love these Olsa magnetic socket trays as they have significantly improved the way I work.

Those are ok, but VIM Tools has them beat hands down. The rails are low profile and you install pegs to the rails. When you have the peg where you want it, give it a twist and it is locked into place. The rails are magnetic and very strong. The rails also take any size peg. They come in three different sizes and multiple colors. They are made of anodized aluminum. These things are better than sliced bread. Check them out. Amazing!!!

Just bought some of these (one from OLSA the others from some competitors with the exact same product, just a different name). My "main" CV sockets are still in the plastic trays from the craftsman kit I bought like ~15 years ago. It was one of those plastic tool box sets, so when I finally bought a big ass tool chest and workbench for my garage, I just took the trays out out of the little plastic tool box and put them in my workbench/tool chest combo. I just left the sockets in the trays and put the tray in the chest. Works really well.
Of course besides the original craftsman set now I've got other stuff like impact sockets, 12 point deep wells, torx/specialty sockets. So I needed to buy these to organize my tool chest.
I only have the 1/4 drive holder for little bits and special sockets not for my whole 1/4" set. Not too many odd 1/4s for me, so no gripe about the missing 15mm 1/4 drive. Like I said stuff like that is in the plastic tray still.
I did need to buy some trays for stuff like my torx bits and impacts though. 3/8 and 1/2 drive.
My biggest gripe is the 1/2 drive set holders like you said. I had to buy 5 sets of 1/2" drive. 1 for my shallow impacts metrics, 1 for my shallow impacts SAE, 1 for my deep impacts metric, 1 for my deep SAE metric, and 1 for my 12 point CV metric deep wells. I'll have to buy a 6th if I ever get 12 point SAE deep wells.
I wish they just sold a bigger holder that went from 10mm to 27mm shallow and then 10mm to 27 mm deep in the same holder. It would be huge, of course. That and sticking the deep wells in the shallow spots means they can fall out if they're upside down...
On the plus side at least the 21mm to 27mm deeps and 15 /16 to 1 1/4 deeps let you put a shallow socket in and not need to fish it out with pliers. There's enough hanging over the top that you can just pull them out.
I just have a Camaro. I do like they go a bit bigger myself. There are a couple of really big suspension bolts I have, think they're 22... plus the K-member bolts are pretty big too (21? 24? I forget).
