I was looking at the us general magnetic socket rails, and they are so expensive. $20 per rail, that’s insane for harbor freight. I’m going to start out with the sheet metal ones. And I’ll upgrade them to something better when I feel the time is right.
Wal-Mart has some decent ones for 5 bucks and I was impressed, unfortunately I went to put my 13 piece impact sockets on it and it would only hold ten, disappoint cuz I really liked them ,I think I'm gonna buy another and cut it down with the other and affix them back to back to each other. Also I have some aluminum ones from Kobalt I really like.Glad to see a video.
I used to use those plastic rails with the ball detent but after putting them in a mobile toolbox, got a lot of broken clips so I went back to the cheap metal ones.
Welcome Back!! I've been looking at socket rails myself for the last few days. Those Olsa look pretty good. I would like to get some of those VIM magrails, but $28 a piece is hard to swallow, but might be worth it in a professional environment where they never leave the drawer.
Great video thanks brother. Great selection of socket rails. I can remember when they just had the metal clip rails. I think you were better off just letting them roll around in the tool box. I like all the different choices you have today. The rails have come a long way just like everything else. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother
Wondering where you were glad to see your back. I may be out for a while in hospital now been here for days heart related issues may need open heart surgeries worst case scenario. I I can say is this sucks. Thanks for the vid enjoy watching
mdlee52 I am leaving hospital today and have to wear a vest that will shock me if I have a heart attack when my heart gets stronger I will need surgery I can say this sucks
Dan McKevitt's Tools & Bagels i still think this may be a government plant. Until I see a live stream of him laying in bed, i say we all remain skeptical
Here is a magnetic twist lock rail that is worth checking out: amzn.to/2GZGf81
Thanks good buddy. One less video I have to shoot meow.
Hyper Tuff socket rails from Walmart are THE best and cheapest too.
Dang, I am glad I ran across this video. You did a great job of explaining exactly what I wanted.

I think the Olsa rails in a combo pack are a pretty good deal. Thanks, Brian.
I wish there was a metal rail with metal square drive retainers and detent ball. Also not magnetic. If there is one let me know!
Well hot damn! Look who's back on the tube! Good comparison buddy
Thanks, Jared! I've got a few more videos in the works...

Thanks, Scott. Yes, they always looked better on those rails but they never managed to stay on very long.
@@mdlee52 They didn't hold the deep wells with out falling over.
Yep, they work okay on the shallows but not the deeps.
Check out was marts new rails, they're cheap and you can customize them and cut them to length for shorter sets
Wal mart
HE'S BACK! Good to hear from you again!
You too, buddy!
Hey it's good to see you back. And I really need some new socket rails. I have a set that keeps falling off the rail and it droves me nuts.
Thanks, Wyatt. They have a couple of combo options that aren't super expensive.
@@mdlee52 I ordered a 3/8 drive rail...the orange one. Not a bad price at all for aluminum.
You should checkout the Mechanic Time Savers Socket rails I think those are nice 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼✌️
I've heard a lot of good things about those! Thanks, Frankie.

Woah, thanks for keeping me in the loop! Good to hear from you, John.
A lot of people are praying for you.

I have some olsa rails that are 7 inches wide and hold 80 sockets
I think those are a really great way to go for a tool box.
How do those astro impact nano sockets hold up? Heard mixed reviews about them
Paired with my M12 stubby they work great for me.
Great video Mdlee52 brother
Thanks for stopping by, buddy!
He lives!

Yo Dave!

Agreed!
Imposter! But I do like the free magnetic rail idea. Good thing I stocked up before that free coupon expired 👍🏼
I'm sure there will always be more coupons in the future. Thanks, Brad.

Just you wait!
Long time buddy
Yo Garry, thanks for checking in!
Can't believe that you finally came out of the closet and did a video.
Lol, don't go anywhere near Knocks' closet!
What are you the only tool guy on youtube that didn't get one of those Capri lights?
Edit that video must be in the queue with the tool box tour.
Lol, ya I might be feeling a little left out... I do have another Capri video coming up, but not about the light.
You are completely wrong
Thanks for having the bell clicked.
It warms my heart that you also hate the stamped steel socket rails of Satan.
I'm glad there are other options. Back in the 90's we had little choice.
Westling machine or gtfo
Too expensive.
