I absolutely agree with you. We lost 18 starters and practically the entire coaching staff - and the strength coach as well! We have the reputation of developing players, not getting 5-star recruits. I anticipated a 7-5, 6-6 season and that's what we'll get. The other reply to your comment says that our fan base is "the most arrogant and delusional" in the country - it sounds like a Buckeye fan is sharing his opinion. I don't agree. My own opinion is that all fan bases are typically arrogant and delusional. But, that's just my opinion. By the way, Joel, I often heard last year - "Michigan hasn't played anybody yet."

@ Keeping an even tone throughout a game is a must. Did they expect OSU to let up after a horrendous start? Also, there's a reason Will Howard (after a rough outing) took it upon himself to mock Drew Allar's celebration after sealing the deal. It was silly. Another thing, Penn St. offense only managed to score 6 points throught the entire game, meaning the defense scored more than the offense. Know who you are, and stay humble or it'll bite you in the arse.

The Ohio State fans of today, remind me of the Nebraska fans back in the late 80s and early 90s. Nebraska fans wanted to fire Osborne, he couldn’t win the big games, couldn’t beat Oklahoma, but Nebraska held its course, stayed with the coach who only lost a game or two a year. The continuity paid off with Nebraska winning championships in 94 and 95 and shared the title in 1997. Granted those championships were won by voting but, It was and is hard to win a National Championship. Ryan Day is a great coach and OSU needs to stay with him. Here’s the thing with Penn State. They’re usually ranked about 7th-10th in annual revenue/profits. James Franklin is around the 12th highest paid coach in college football. Their athletic facilities are ranked around the 25th-30th range (they’re in the process of getting upgraded along with the stadium, though). The NIL collective is ranked at 25th. Their coaching staff salaries are likely ranked in the 13th-15th range, if not slightly worse. Football is a game of inches, so all of this, especially NIL is very important. Penn State needs to work on getting all these aspects into the top ten because it would allow them to potentially go out there and get a couple solid wide receivers. For instance, you would no longer have to rely on running backs being the top receivers against a top five team in the nation. James Franklin is competing at the exact level based on the resources that have been allocated to him. Even then, he’s come very close to beating Ohio State whose roster outmatches Penn State by millions of dollars.

OSU stacked the box all game and left their perimeter guys on straight islands 1 on 1. You don’t do that unless nobody scares you outside on the opposing team. That being said, Alabama would be another argument, they’re probably somewhere between 5-10 for most of the things this guy laid out, and Saban won national titles each year. But, as I look at the replay of his pick six in the 1st series, it looks to my eyes like Jeremiah Smith paused a bit at the sight of the defender and/or could have been a bit more aggressive at making an inside track for the ball. Am I imagining that? I would like to think that a seasoned receiver would have cut more of a shallow path to the ball upon seeing a defender in the corner of his eye.

But not gonna value them until they can prove it. And with your one point about how “ it’s a brand and if it was OSU OR UGA they wouldn’t be questioned” I think that is just because we’ve done it for so long. As for Miami, barely slipping past everybody and for some reason with that cake schedule and next to nothing in a résumé they’re ranked 4th! Unbelievable how bad the rankings are from the AP
