This show was pure genius from inception to its last showing...and it had everything to do with the actors working as a team.
Right, but had they not worked as a team security would have to escort them off set as a team, or those security guards would also have to be escorted by a team of new security guards

I still never understood the fact that this brilliant show only had four seasons with only 6 episodes per season , while most of the crappy sitcoms have at least seven seasons with 10 episodes for the minimum. Its sad that they closed the sitcom so early , brilliant piece like this is very rare to find .
British sitcoms, 6 episode seasons is common with few seasons. Unlike usa where they milk a show for as long as it's profitable.

I think they put all their good jokes into those 20 episodes or so, while other shows have tons of stale, artifical, mass-produced jokes inbetween the good ones, as filler
The IT Crowd, like most good shows, knew when to stop. Otherwise we'd just remember it as "one of those shows that was good in the beginning and then became bad", like Scrubs, or The Office US, Rick and Morty, Gamr of Thrones, etc
@@cheydinal5401 To be honest, Game of Thrones wasn't going to go on that much longer, it had a planned end and very well could've been fine. They didn't milk it until it went bad, they just fucked up at the very end
It's very common for British shows to only have a few seasons.
Makes many shows end with quality and dignity before they go creatively bankrupt like so many shows that have an endless amount of seasons.
Dammit they cut the video just before the part where Female Spock uses the Vulcan tongue-meld to subdue Female Bones
I think you're confused, that's the fake thing female spock used on kirk before seducing the romulan commander. Here it was the live-long-and-prosper gesture, put to very effective use.... dear god what am I writing?

They even remembered Chekov's awkward hairpiece from the first episodes of season 2! (FYI: this whas when he first appeared, the wig was meant to appeal to the young 'Beattle' audience, but the story goes they hadn't managed to make a custom one so used a ladies wig instead)

Graham Linehan is head and shoulders above any other writer these days.
He's become a bit like Orson Scott Card, though. How Orson Scott Card criticises gay people, Graham Linehan goes after trans. Not disputing they are both talented writers.

I like how they wrote Jen's character, and the actress that plays her. She's the straight man for the most part, but she's also a full fleshed character herself. She makes fun of the group, but she's very much a part of them.
Straight? I think Jen has a lot of funny lines, I think they gave her better lines as the show went on

I am an American and I've been an Anglophile for British TV since 1975, when I happily stumbled on late night Doctor Who. I fell in love with British humor, science fiction and fantasy (The Tripods, Day of the Triffids, etc.), and dramas (Merchant Ivory flicks) since then. Thanks for sharing this funny piece from The IT Crowd!
