I always feel safe buying stuff from Russia. They’ll label stuff as “machining tools” and pack that shit so tight it takes a solid 5 minutes to get the layers of tape off but customs has never messed with my packages
Haha, that's true. We use a really lot of packing materials, since we're afraid our post may destroy the items. There's much of videos where you can see what our post workers do to the parcels sometimes
The reason why the packages are wrapped so tightly is because Russian post is not secure whatsoever, it's common knowledge to make the contents of the package so difficult to extract that the person doing it would go "Fuck this, I'm not gonna bother.", because otherwise they will bother and between the package's origin and destination the contents will be replaced with rocks, bricks, packs of candy, you name it, anything to simulate the original weight. Not to mention how sloppily the packages are handled, ordering something that can be damaged by being bent is just asking to have it destroyed by the time it reaches you.
Yeah, I've received some packages from Russia packaged so well that I could play football with them, with the relatively fragile contents still inside. They have it down to a science lol

The term "sealed" needs to be legally regulated. Basically, if Customs is going to unseal it, it should be legally required to say something like: "In certain countries, Customs may unseal this item."
In Sri Lanka if the customs want to unseal an object they send you a form stating that you product is on hold at the customs. If you want it to be open in front of you, you can go to the customs with form. Or you can pay the customs fee at the local post office. I thought this was hassle. But after this video, I think what they do is ok.
Tbh, it's not just Ebay that does this. Got a printer repair, sent from us a respected company to a respected company. Hardly the first time we've ever sent a package and won't be the last(hopefully). Absolutely no reason this should've been done. I open the box, pull out the RMA/Repair order paperwork, and just get sad. "Printer arrived broken into by TSA", the thing legitimately looked like it was pulled open using a crowbar.

I ordered a server GPU from a seller in the UK and used the ebay shipping as it was cheaper and supposedly just as fast as the more "traditional" shipping. It was a Tesla M40 that was supposed to have a fan mod to cool it in a regular case. When it arrived the box was in brutal shape. The exterior shroud had the classic massive scar and the fan was missing, with the 3d printed fan mount snapped apart. I of course got in contact with the seller, who showed pictures of the whole thing together and packaged pretty well in a different box. I ended up printing my own fan adapter and mounted a fan I bought from microcenter to it and have been rendering stuff on it and using it for a virtualized gaming setup for two players on one pc.

The cars for the pharmacy drive thru would literately go around the entire store. But I ended up finding a local small like five stores big chain of pharmacy literately in a neighboring shopping center. Go in, they remembered me and my name by the second visit, have even refilled prescriptions on very short notice. Amazing people! Like this is exactly what I tell people. Even if the place isn't amazingly perfect, local businesses that at least try to give you a good experience are important. If we lose them, we end up bitches of a giant corporate machine that'll come up with new ways to screw us over with no way being able to do anything about it.

This is why I always pay with a card, because then you can demand a chargeback from your bank (card issuer), and they're legally required to comply. I got scammed on eBay last year (for 200 USD). eBay deleted the seller's account (including the listing) because it was suspicious. And because the listing was gone, I couldn't complain to eBay. I sent a message to my bank requesting a chargeback, explaining what happened (with screenshots, seller name, card number, date, transaction id, etc), and after a month I had my money back. I didn't have to fill out any paperwork, didn't have to talk to anybody. One message, and that was it. Crisis averted. No questions asked. This procedure always applies, when you don't receive a product, or product/service is different from advertised. You get money back from your card issuer, and then it's their problem.

I'm so glad SOMEONE mentions how HORRIBLE eBAy's Global Shipping program is. I've only had one experience as a seller, but now i try to avoid it. Been following recent, dude and already love ur vids. Can't wait to see more! I'll leave my story here: My story starts in Dec 2017. There was a nintendo switch game that had a "collectors/special" edition here in the US. I bought one but my bro managed to get one elsewhere, so I had an extra item to stare, all new and sealed for months to come. A few months later I put the item on sale on eBay as buy it now /w offer.. and goes to the normal procedure I go with shipping and all. Late 2018, I manage to sell it for a good price for the buyer and a price I'm happy with. I used bubble warp and put it on a cardboard, even adding those big air cushions, to keep it safe. A week or less later, eBay emails me that my "recent purchase through the Global Shipping Program has shipped from the Global Shipping Center" so at that point everything seems to go well. 10 days later it's already out of the US, and the seller gets it eventually. I thought that would be then end of it, but NOPE! Imagine going throughout your day, enjoying with the bit of extra cash, just to get a concerning email from eBay about the seller requesting a return of the item AND a refund. I was FRUSTRATED and angered, and also sad to see how the box was COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND CUT (can't find the pic the dude sent me but it was a nightmare and looked like a kid had packaged it). I thankfully had proof that wasn't what I shipped, and also went to the ebay forum for help, which i found after some research. I replied to the buyer about it, and emailed eBay support. It took around 2 days from just one reply to get to a GSP specialist, and I thankfully kept the sell, with ebay issuing a full refund to the buyer. BUT BOY WAS THIS A WASTE OF TIME! If I didn't act fast enough it would had ended bad. I CAN'T IMAGINE how the buyer must had been, since the item I sold him has gone up in price since then. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME, EBAY GLOBAL SHIPPING SERVICE! (and yes, this was the Kentucky center)
Brandon Torres if they have more facilities instead of just that one which receives the entire bulk, they can go through each package more carefully with a lesser chance of these destruction and the workers there won’t be doing as poorly. I mean come on if you have to handle that amount of load every single day of your life, you are bound to go through everything quickly to get it done and over with. Which explains the reckless slashing open of the boxes. The workers don’t really care anymore.
It’s eBay as a whole, they’re despicable I’m going to leave this here: www.cnet.com/news/former-ebay-employees-charged-with-cyberstalking-couple-who-were-critical-of-company/
That's like a massive destruction of worth. the game itself sells here for about 5-15€, with box it goes up to about 30-40€, and that's not even in mint condition, just by having the packaging with it.
I ordered some stuff from eBay recently and they all arrived in immaculate condition except for the one thing that came through the eBay Shipping center. It wasn't packaged very well but I can only assume eBay screwed up the package but it was Video CD copies of my favourite movies and they're very rare. They come in jewel cases and the cases were trashed. Luckily I had some old CDs I could transplant pieces from and a tube of super glue and they look fine now, but it was a real piss off.
Oh my, I’m an eBay seller who has used GSP and thankfully my customers haven’t had any issues. But I didn’t even know that these were issues to be had!! None of the other eBay sellers seem to be talking about the damage/missing items/etc, just that the buyers don’t like paying extra shipping. However, as sellers we’re encouraged to use GSP for tracking purposes...and so eBay can make their extra money, of course.

It’s really shitty that someone thought that even though it’s clearly marked on the box that they cut the Apple wrap (literally the most satisfying thing) off a CLASSIC iPod Jesus
It's all in their terms & agreements we make with them as we purchase or sell something. eBay is famous for the bully they are. The government prioritizes national security and eBay would pull that card to win, since customs have the rights to do it anyway and get away with it.

I used to work for Hermes/EVRi in the UK and one of the biggest issues is that when parcels are loaded into trucks at the regional hubs for the main hub they are literally chucked into the trailer piled ontop of each other from back to front, no cages or crates to hold them. which includes eBay sellers shipping through parcel drop off points, its not always the service providers fault because a lot of sellers assume their package will be handled with care when thats not the case. its not like they dont care but the workers are under so much pressure to meet turnaround times that speed wins over care.
As a collector myself, this is why I always get pissed with my coworkers when they carelessly dig their knives in and slice all the way across. I slice a small nick at the edge and simply use the force of the lid opening to tear through the rest of the tape. Usually what I do is puncture in at one end from the top, and then lever it so I'm cutting it sideways so I don't cut anything inside since my blade is in line with the flaps of the box

I buy from Japanese ebay sellers as a game collector and guess what? They use the Japanese post not through any other company. It gets sent through a few other countries before hitting me but it’s never hitting eBay’s international shipping companies. It’s perfect. All my US ebay packages come through the USPS. That makes it great. Btw the Japanese post office for an SNES game uses a tiny bubble mailer wrapping it as tight as they can. Like the package is just big enough to hold the game so it doesn’t rattle around like crazy in the mailer. It’s just there. If it’s a DS game the person will put it in a plastic DS game protector unless they have the game case and they wrap it extra. It’s perfect!

I as a seller take pictures of my orders, how I shipped them, packaging and all. now I know it's not really going to matter because what ebay says is something akin to 'we're not sure if those pictures are authentic or taken before the item was tampered/damaged/missing'
@@mbirth that's funny. Ive actually considered trying to set something up like that, trying to figure out a way to 'authenticate' a shipment but ultimately ebay/paypal all say the same thing in the end 'we don't know when and where it happened' so you're at fault no matter what.

I've only bought one thing through ebay from the US as a tea drinker across the pond, and I'll count myself lucky. It was Minecraft Volume Alpha on vinyl, special edition green splatter pattern discs for 45 quid, the guy who shipped it had the record in 3 layers of cardboard each side, the top two layers slashed and dashed, bottom thickest layers absolutely perfect and the record unscathed and unwarped due to the thick protection keeping it flat. I was expecting some issues and the guy was a huge legend. Absolutely loved chatting through the eBay seller messaging. He was so nice, and was shocked to see the package was slashed, I sent him an excited message that I got it and he had a minor freak out at the fact the eBay facility carelessly sliced the cardboard only missing the record because of the extra layer he put on last minute. Both he and I were pleased they didn't go for a round two of slash and dash, because if they did I'd have an unplayable or unpresentable vinyl record. I already had volume beta off amazon, fire red with orange, yellow and purple splatter pattern, and that was prestine. To get the first record perfect too made my year back in 2021. I've sworn off ordering abroad since then to not test my luck, as most stuff I want from overseas is expensive collectables and I'd rather not have them slashed and dashed, would make me mad

It hurts, honestly...
I started getting annoyed at ebay for mostly scams. But thats not ebays fault... 2 weeks later I see someone on ebay gets scammed by ebay. Not a good reputation.
Hey Daniel!
I’m only buying within the US when shopping on eBay but seeing this makes me want to delete my eBay account all together. They don’t even have bad standards they just don’t have standards at all...
Honestly, US buyers are in quite the lucky situation when it comes to buying on Ebay since most everything they could want is already in the US either listed on Ebay or some other website. I'm in Europe and already have a headache and a half trying to find a lot of things on the continent. I daren't imagine how hard things are for AU buyers
@@daggern15 can confirm, eBay is my go to for everything and almost never have a problem. Tho I always check the from us button so I don't have to deal with customs and international shipping
Good luck deleting it.
Honestly I agree as a seller, I'm having trouble with bills so I can't pay things that they're charging me for selling, and they continuously, everyday or to send me a collections email that's like "don't worry take your time, don't worry take your time, don't worry take your time...but give us our money"
I'LL PAY YOU WHEN I HAVE THE DISPOSABLE INCOME TO DO SO!
CHRIST ebay is bad.
but sadly as a seller that's where it gets the most views and as a buyer sometimes that's the only place people put things up for sale, and I would know because I literally check every site that I have access to
their only standard is put the package in a TNT cannon
Damn, I love the European consumer protection. eBay would have been fined the moment the thought about scamming or even opening a package.
Yea exactly. If you check out the complaints, all the European users got refunds 😂
Same
The only problem is that as a seller it can often be worse, literally anyone can abuse the refund system and they won’t even have to send whatever it is back
@@myrealusername2193 I thought eBay paid the refund, not the seller?

I felt that end bit about supporting local business. I used to get my meds from a Walgreens, and they were SEVERELY understaffed. Like I think they genuinely only had one full time pharmacy tech.
I have a real good one, so I bought a nice Can opener, because I wanted a new one that was automated, so I got this sweet Black Cuisinart, and it shipped, nothing wrong, not a single thing wrong.
But then, a few days later I get a message saying it came from a Warhouse with Covid 19, and I was getting a refund, AFTER I opened it and put it on my KITCHEN counter.
I already had COVID at this point but still think about that, man wow!
“Warhouse”? Yeah I wouldn’t expect the greatest stuff to come out from there

I'll leave my story here:
My story starts in Dec 2017.
Crazy they still did this for years without even trying to fix this issue
They do that to make sure you didn’t ship drugs

They come in jewel cases and the cases were trashed. Luckily I had some old CDs I could transplant pieces from and a tube of super glue and they look fine now, but it was a real piss off.

Good news, buddy
This reminds me of when I paid a dude 20$ extra to pack my graphics card with bubble wrap and some newspaper.
Got a box with a still rolled up roll of bubble wrap, yesterdays neatly folded newspaper and the card rattling around the box along with it.
...I guess he did as I said lol.
lol imagine how confused the seller was "this guy wants me to send him bubble wrap and the newspaper too? Whatever as long as he pays"
I bought an i9-9900k and it was RATTLING AROUND IN THE BOX
@@cydonia9342 I mean that shouldn't happen but its not as bad as a gpu.
It’s perfect!
whenever i buy japanese game consoles and such, they always ship with fedex which is nice since they use the fastest shipping possible for free. i always avoid buying from the us when i can and when i did have to use the gsp. i waited A MONTH for my package.
When pieces are missing and the seller can confirm they were there when shipped, isn't that like, theft on ebay's part? Like yeah they stole an old crappy music player but that's still stealing as much as it'd be if it were a laptop or a basketball...
I as a seller take pictures of my orders, how I shipped them, packaging and all. now I know it's not really going to matter because what ebay says is something akin to 'we're not sure if those pictures are authentic or taken before the item was tampered/damaged/missing'
@@deadkid2012 I appreciate sellers like you so much even if ebay still puts blame on you.
@@deadkid2012 Get a Polaroid instant camera and do it in the post office and have the postman witness the process and sign the photo.
@@mbirth that's funny. Ive actually considered trying to set something up like that, trying to figure out a way to 'authenticate' a shipment but ultimately ebay/paypal all say the same thing in the end 'we don't know when and where it happened' so you're at fault no matter what.
@@deadkid2012 I mean, if you can document the packaging process and have witnesses that swear everything was fine when you gave it to the post office, it becomes a matter between post office and ebay. The big problem with that is, that by that point you'll have amassed billions of $$$ in lawyer costs. And that's why ebay can get away with this behaviour.
9:59 never seen Frank act so cute it's like a dog rolling over and showing his belly
Ebay watching you pack at the end "Man, this guy is good.... we must hire him!"
*Ebay rapidly taking notes*
You're "not allowed" to show your emails? What are they going to do? That's not against any laws I'm aware of.
I assume since it's Australia they probably have some laws against it. It's not like the U.S where we can post the most private of legal documents on Instagram
also, there are terms of use
He’s not allowed showing that ebay scammed him by saying they will issue a refund
@@ShellShock794 No, its just to try to scare people to shut up.
@@Yilmaister Terms of use are not a legal contract, they can only refuse to do business with you if you break it but they'd still have to prove damages to sue you. Beyond that, a private corporation can't exactly get you sent to jail, they'd still have to file a police report or get a DA on board to press criminal charges.
Somehow my brain translated "arsenic filled wallpaper" to "asbestos toilet paper" and I had to go back and listen again to see if you really said that. Now I'm trying to decide which would be worse.
For the wallpaper,
On one hand, poison
On the other is shit... probably the wallpaper
Asbestos is also toxic
Here in Norway it's really expensive to import things. If something costs 20$ + 5$ shipping. The toll customs will add extra 10-20$ to it.
I have a cousin who moved away not to long ago (He is a big fan of Fnaf so this will come into play later) Now my Cousin finally decided that he will finally buy A Golden/Shadow Freddy plush still with their tags. These 2 Plush are really rare and he spent a good 500 Bucks on them, when the package finally arrived both the plush were missing their tag and the fabric was cut resulting in a giant opening on the side of one of the plush. Ebay agreed to pay the refund them self but they never did. My cousin didn't what the seller for a refund seeing as it was not their fault. This entire story could be finished off with Ebay sucks
as fnaf fan this breaks my heart
as a collector in general this makes me wanna stab someone.
Ebay is a horrible company
I feel that pain, the one time I ordered a plush off eBay (toy Freddy) they cut his eye and slashed his nose, the 2 things I CAN’T fix
This is an evil not even William could accomplish
Opening the sealed shrink wrap that the product originally came in to check for tampering is like breaking a clear glass window to check if a product has been stolen from the other side when you can see it.
well said
Customer: noooooooooo you can't just randomly open up/unseal boxes and packaging and just throw it all in some other box in worse condition with nothing in it and do fake advertising you monster noooo
eBay Global Shipping: *haha big packaging knife go **_doom ultra nightmare mode_*
800k subs in a year, past you would be foaming at the mouth seeing your sub count now!!
Cheers mate! Keep being awesome!!

I‘m sorry man, I literally could not keep watching after you showed what they did to the 2nd gen, it did like 30 points of psychic damage
Do you mean psychological damage?

@@conno02 no dumbass, it's DND you fool
Wish: we have the worst ever online buying experience
Ebay: hold my beer
Wish honestly isn't even bad tbh, its just the long ass shipping times and well, you get exactly what you should expect for paying the cheap price
Wish is just the dollar store but you have to wait two months for your trash to arrive
@@aortaplatinum Yeah, pretty much, and like any dollar store, you can actually find some decent things lol
this never gets old haha.
Tbh Wish is only bad because of the bootleg crap they sell. (And the shipping)
Ebay on the other hand... oh boy.
Ebay GSP just tears stuff open to look for illegal shit. I ordered a HIGHLY collectable Sonic 2 Tiger LCD game and they literally BROKE IT IN HALF.
