Great work Tom. If this doesn't turn people on to the idea and the pleasures of flyfishing, I don't know what will. Terrific explanations of some of the technical aspects. 👍
Tom, absolutely love your videos. I'm watching from Cork City Ireland. Could you please show the flies you are fishing in the palm of your hand. TIA. PS keep them coming👍
Great video Tom. The G has always been a difficult river for me, but i managed to persist and win a few battles in the past weeks and you've inspired me to try and get back there. But i have a problem... My "go to" 5wt exploded in a backcast last week and now it is a not-so-useful 5 piece rod😢 As i use it for almost all my stream fishing, and cast everything from single dry to double nymph and streamers, is was wondering on your impressions of your 4wt orvis Recon... could it be my new "does everything" rod? Appreciate your advice...
Thanks John, and oh no that’s a disaster! But yes it could be, I find it very versatile and do fish everything from dries to streamers and wet flies on it, I actually have a 4 weight intermediate fly line for that. So it would be a very solid option. Cheers, Tom
Your ability to spot fish is extraordinary!

Tom on the Nymphing rod in the fast water what sized bead were you using ?
I swapped between a 3.5mm and 3mm and then two 3mm beads
Do you use all large arbor reels for your setups?
Hey Finn, mostly but I’m not too stressed. As long as it’s not too heavy a reel I’m very happy
