nice water a nice fish Tom, great video
So many valuable insights - thanks for sharing @tom - that last big brown - wow wow wow…🍾
I don't know but i would be terrified to wade in Australia :) but looks beautiful
Great video always wonderful to see your work. It's also nice to know sometimes professionals have bad knots!
Nice one and no snakes
😅😂
Great video,Tom... beautiful location.
Awesome dude 🙌
Just so beautiful when fishing on a small/mid stream like this with ferns and raucous bird life; beautiful part of the world
Nice video! That looks like a difficult place to get around. How do you think streamers would go for searching those big slow pools?
It works and I’ve done it, but is hard to get good access to cast and work through them, then there is also a heap of timber in the pools so you end up hooking up on stuff all the time
Very nice. Nice to see the river in reasonable shape. Last time I was there, it was a trickle.
Nice session Tom, cool river!
How you got that fish out of all those snags, and still landed it (and on a barbless hook to boot) I will never know. Amazing!
Love the Aire River!
Thanks for this video. Excellent as always. Can I ask what the flow rate was when you were filming? It looks high, but you seem to be wading without much bother.
Glad you enjoyed it, and it was 3000 at the start of the day but was increasing. Cheers, Tom
@tomjarmanfishing3208 Thank you and I'm glad it did not come over the top of your bib.
awesome stuff Tom , keep it coming for the new year mate !
Cheers mate, appreciate it!
Glad to see the bung being used. Buzzers under the bung is a killer technique and been fishing this way for 30 years plus.
Absolutely mint….happy new year Tom…think I might have throw a fly on the Kiewa 🤔
Thanks mate, happy new year and of course you should!
Love your channel❤❤❤
Great video highlights of a great year Tom.
Thanks for all your great vids Tom. I learn so much from them. See you in Feb!
Amazing fish Tom, what a season! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year mate. :)
Thank you for your insightful videos, much appreciated 🙏
Thanks, I'm glad you are enjoying them! 😊
That was great Tom! great water and fish
Didn't realise they had clear biggish rivers there. Rivers I saw were all brown and manky
Wonderful session mate. Have a great Christmas! :)
Great video Tom, just curious what level was the river running at here?
Okay, that's it Tom, next time you have to close your eyes while nymphing into the sun. Maybe a blindfold ... then with the dry 🙂 Great stuff. Always learn from your vids and just love that Vic scenery & all the great fish. Cheers PP
Awesome stuff Tom. Just brilliant!!! Heading back to the G early in the new year, so watching your session is an early Chrissy present. Hopefully I can emulate a quarter of it! Tell me you left old wonky jaw for me to catch too😂 😉 .
😅😂
Terrific video Tom, The river looks si different down there now.
Brilliant and insightful session on the G Tom. Thanks again and all the best for Xmas and the New Year!
That section is so hard to recognise now since the recent floods and the damage it did and totally new flows in the stream. My family had a full time huge tent at the caravan park there and friends managed the place in the late 70s/early 80s. It’s where I learned to fly fish from a guy who camped next to us. Knew every inch of that river from there up to the quarry and down to the junction. Great times
Can I ask which section of the Goulburn this is? I'm just getting into flyfishing and have never fished the G.
@ downstream of breakaway. You can see the avenue of poplars in the background. Traditionally not a great stretch but everything is new with the new flow.
Loved it mate...have a happy Christmas...cheers
Thanks mate, have a great Christmas!
Your best Goulburn River video yet. Extremely informative, fantastic fishing and the background sounds of nature (the river, cicadas, bird sounds etc) makes for a great video.
Thoroughly enjoyed Tom. I really enjoyed observing not just the stealth that you presented the flies with. But more so, the stealth in picking your leader and line back up off the water when recasting.
Hi Tom, Ward here can this be fished in comps?
What time of the year was this?
Nothing as serene as a tree-fern lined Victorian stream IMO :). Thanks for the sknniny water lesson mate
Great water. Can I ask the reason for underlining your rod?
Yeah, it’s because I don’t need/want the energy and weight when dry fly fishing :)
@@tomjarmanfishing3208 Thanks for that. Does underlining result in the rod not flexing as much?
@ yes
It looks like a difficult but fun river.
Hi Tom on this particular day what was your ballpark average (the median) length of a cast? Excluding several of the really smaller and longer casts.
Maybe 20ft of fly line and then the 16 - 18ft of leader/tippet. Honestly, I have no idea because you are deliberately turning over different amounts of leader/ tippet on each presentation depending on the length of the drift you are aiming for
Fantastic fishing mate. And a gorgeous little stream!
Super impressive session @tom - thanks for taking us along with you…
Gorgeous water Tom. Always enjoy these small steams. Thanks. Cheers PP
Great casting skills, wonderful little stream...Thanks for sharing!
What an awesome river what is it called?
Wow, what a beautiful stream!
It's the blue crocs saved the day 😂👍🏻
Your ability to sight and target fish is inspiring…
Hey Tom I’m really enjoying your videos you give great tips and advice on everything you doing on the water please keep up the great work your doing they’re beautiful trout your catching after watching you I hope when I get back out fishing I will be able to fool the brownies with your flies and technique thanks for sharing tight lines from Ireland ❤
Outstanding Tom, you make it look so easy.
