Some suggestions
1) 9:02 you should mention the face distortion (which is hardly noticeable but it is there) that we get with shorter focal lengths.
in 85mm face looks little bulky/prominent
2) Please mention the camera you are using FF/Crop sensor.
Some users are crop sensors so the video will be little different for them.

I got your points... Currently I have 50mm F1.8...... first point is very informative.....
In this video, you use R7 which is crop sensor camera, so the focal length discussed were actually 56,80 and 136...that is important point...50mm were popular on Full Frame camera...on APS-C it is not a general purpose lens as it is on full frame. anyway your videos are always informative and good watch.

vignetting is also removed in JPEG using lightroom, also you can use inbody vignette controll which automatically correct the vignette

I am a mobile photographer 🙂 ( though I use a old #cannon ixus sometimes) . One of my my friend and a brother have DSLR, and didi has SLR which we may upgrade to DSLR... If I get the 50 mm lens ,we can capture objective photo and portraits with a good BG blur 😅
Sensor size is most important to consider when choosing the lens..the 1.6× crop can be very irritating if you chose wrong focal length.

I like the photos of 50mm or I can say I need that type of photos {that much background blur, distance, etc},
But I have canon R50 which have a crop sensor So for getting photos{as shown in this video with the 50 mm lens} I should chhose 50mm or 35mm lens ?
NOTE: Actually I asked this questioned because of
if I choose 50mm then actual mm I will got is equal to (50 *1.5)
or
if I choose 35mm then actual mm I will got is equal to (35 *1.5)

While taking photo of leaves you took distance of one feet as mentioned in the lense then later on you said fir taking better focus in 50mm lense you have to take photos from 2 feet

If the 50mm 1.8 is used in an apsc it acts more like a 80mm.
Will the compression be more in that case too?
Hi Vishnu I will answer this question. It's very interesting. If you use full frame with 50mm and creating a portrait from photo of X from a point A which is 4 feet distance as shown here, X____A, Now let's say you have to click with 75mm lens and you go three feet further back to point B to get the same portrait frame like X_______B. Now let's say you use a 50mm apsc lens and click it from point A, it will create a frame of subject as if you had clicked with 75mm full frame at point A but the compression and backgroud blur will be like a 50mm because crop sensor is just cropping the frame. Now if you go back with the same 50mm apsc lens and click from point B, it will create frame of subject same as created by 50mm full frame from point A but the backgroud blur will be lesser than 75mm full frame being used from point B and it will be similar to 50mm full frame being used from point B because it is optically a 50mm lens. Compression will appear to you as if you were using 75mm from point B.

@@TheRollingShuttersthe depth of field also varies with the sensor hence the background blur.
Lens loses its quality near edges, so it is always much better to take picture at 2.8, by doing this we get more sharp images. One another thing which you miss in this video that nifty fifty doesn't have image stabilization. So, it is very difficult for beginners to get sharp image. Entry level camera doesn't have image stabilization in body. Kindly come to fore this to your followers.

Every "photographer" these days forgets about what the lens does to the subject. Its not about background blur and background compression. These lens flatten or compress the subject, when you understand how and why, please make a video in Hindi. People talk about crop factor blah blah .... but an 85mm lens on a full frame is the best for shooting faces. Even in this example the photographer didn't notice/mention what it does to the features. Wides are great for photographing other things, interiors, cars, nature, street photography. But for human faces the 85 is perfect

I have a Canon M50 Mark 2 camera and I have bought Viltrox adapter and a Canon 50mm F1.8 lens. Before purchasing I read a lot of reviews on RUclips. You or any other RUclipsr did not mention that "Lens Aberration Chromatic" issue, now I regret why I purchased it.

you probably bought EF mount lens. the thing is , older DSLR lenses are not as good as newer mirrorless lenses. thats why they are cheap. rather go with third party M mount lenses.
