I always enjoy watching your videos and how much depth you put into your research. To add to that, I think Billy is one of the most chill-inducing villains in horror history. We barely know what his past is; he can go from unstable to calm and collected in an instant, and the audience is only given a slight glimpse of him. For all the characters' knowledge and ours, the audience's, Billy could look like any one of us. In fact, most of us have probably passed a "Billy" in our lives and didn't realize it.
The old school Black Christmas a fun one to watch. Interesting to see how it set the structure for home invasion slasher flicks. The remake was... something else...

I first saw that image one Halloween when I was home sick and E! Was running The 100 Scariest Movie Moments and it scared me so much, I had nightmares about it. A few months later, I would actually see the full film and the phone calls would scare me even more.
There seems to be more suspense and creativity in these old horror genres. But the modern ones just lack that creativity and just make remakes of The Originals that just looks scary but lack the aura that made them scary.
For my Dutch class we had to listen to this story called: “have you checked the children” we were in 7th grade, the best part is that we went into the hall for our next class, the lights flashed an a phone rang. We were traumatised

We read that story my Sophmore year of high school, then we watched the film based off of it, When a Stranger Calls and they picked the best week to do it because that weekend, I had to babysit. I have never been so paranoid 😅
I love that this movie doesn't have a lot of 70s vibes to it, which makes it so ubiquitous. Like this could've been shot in the 2000s if it weren't for the decor, audio and film quality.

I know she’s in shock and being chased by a murderer who killed her friends, but with how much they focused on Billy’s big brown eyes in that one shot you’d think she wouldn’t kill her innocent albeit suspicious boyfriend who she must know has blue eyes! Anyways this movie was creepy and should be talked about more when it comes to classic horror movies!
I just watched this for the first time and it was great. I didn't know that it was considered the start of the slasher genre though, which makes it extra impressive.
This is one of my all time favorite horror films. It's on my top Christmas horror list that I watch around the holidays every year. The ending was brilliantly creepy with the panning through the quiet house and Billy calling out his one last, "It's me Billy" as the sound goes quiet again with the camera panning outside of the house and then the phone rings again.
Peter's character hit on a different level because I had the same experience. Granted it wasn't in the 70s where it must have been an uphill battle to get an abortion, but I still got freaked out on by the sperm donor because he didn't get the "my Body, My choice" memo. I will never understand how there are men so dead set on making sure a woman gives them a child, regardless of the circumstances. He had no job, she didn't either, his thing that could have taken him places with the piano didn't work out, but he STILL wants to have a lifetime commitment to a screaming crap cannon that costs millions of dollars a minute? Like....there's a serial killer hiding in a party house and I'm more creeped out by this guy?!
Jess is way worse, she is basically a psychopath. “I know you have a big audition in an hour but I want you to know that you created a child that you already love but I don’t care, I’m going to murder it anyway. Merry Christmas” Jess is the worst.
To be fair I’d honestly say it’s because it’s more common. Lots of guys are like that, and are super controlling regardless if they have legit any right to be Cause at least the actual psycho would hopefully be a more rare occurrence even if it’s real
@@sodaboi2154but women don't trap a man , deceive him and trick him into having a baby ? So a man being straight forward and telling you as is , is worse than a woman trapping a man who doesn't love her ? Your generation is fucked and you're a prime example why

This is probably my favorite channel out there right now. You make great content man, keep it up!!
Thanks, Jonny!
That guy in the back of the station was my reaction when I first saw that scene
Seriously dude, I can't get enough of these kind of videos haha. Keep up the entertainment man, You're going places. Shout out from Canada, and a small reservation where we live in igloos ;)
I just watched this movie about 3 hours ago and it was amazing. James I also wanna say that your content is amazing!
The old school Black Christmas a fun one to watch. Interesting to see how it set the structure for home invasion slasher flicks. The remake was... something else...
Honestly all this bro needs is a cat, some tea, and a good homie.
if you got the "she be drink attackin' " reference, you a real G
aaron basye waaaaaah I’m not a real g
Score I'm a real g and a Huge nerrrrd

When James A. Janisse tells you to chill, you know you need to chill.
Yeah, i honestly think this is the most vulgar movie I've seen
lmao
This is one of the rare films from a long time ago that still gives me the creeps. This was a REAL horror film =)
And Olivia Hussey was a total babe.
6:35 "fellatio......one of the girls that was in this afternoon gave it to me"
I have no idea how John Saxon held it together so well.. I would have been the dude at the desk
Gotta round up all the homies for this. We love your vids my dude!
Never saw the original BC for some reason. Def gonna go give it a watch after this. Thank you as always James great KC always helps round out a boring week :3.
I'd just like to say that, your video helped make my day. My day was going good so far, I got 3rd place in a talent show, and a nice lunch, but than a guy said one of my trigger words. My terreds syndrome makes me hit my forehead every time I hear one of my 2 trigger words. He said it again and again, I got very angry and depressed. But you just made my day. Thanks dude. For everything.
um what
Doesn't Peter kinda look like Luke Skywalker?
ThePurplePickle one off the cops look like zac efron
the lietenant is from nightmare on elm Street the first one as Nancy's dad he is from dead beach
ThePurplePickle ikr! I was thinking that
no
ThePurplePickle he looks like the actor who plays vision
claire’s dead body in the rocking chair is such an amazing image. i love it
I first saw that image one Halloween when I was home sick and E! Was running The 100 Scariest Movie Moments and it scared me so much, I had nightmares about it. A few months later, I would actually see the full film and the phone calls would scare me even more.
I love watching the videos. Your take on the kills makes them seem fresh. I love this channel! And your reactions are funny and amazing
I looooooove these so much !!!! I’m so glad I found your channel! The original is so much better than the remake , which was just super .....weird .
Yes. Yes it was.
As per my promise, I am here after watching the 2019 black Christmas kill count cause I want to remember a decent Christmas horror movie
Actually, this year is the 50th Anniversary of this film's release and this horror classic still isn't talked about enough.
I just like 70s and 80s horror so much better than modern day stuff.
Hipster
So do I
Real D Hop SSSSSAAAAAAMMMMMMMEEEEEEE
There seems to be more suspense and creativity in these old horror genres.
But the modern ones just lack that creativity and just make remakes of The Originals that just looks scary but lack the aura that made them scary.
The Strangers is actually one of the only modernish movies I’ll actually watch. Every older movie is good though.
So happy you did this one. Black Christmas is actually a pretty fun, creepy, and well made movie. Deserves to be better remembered.
For my Dutch class we had to listen to this story called: “have you checked the children”
we were in 7th grade, the best part is that we went into the hall for our next class, the lights flashed an a phone rang.
We were traumatised
what was it about?
@@kkcake5771 oh lord it was ages ago I think it was about this babysitter who kept getting called by this weirdo who was like “have you checked the children” until she got so freaked the fuck out that she ran to their room, couldn’t get in and once she did the kids were gone or smn
@@asherbh_sings I said it doesn't have a LOT of 70s vibes, I didn't say the whole movie was full 2000s vibes
“When mac be packing she be drink attacking” lol
There is nothing better than a cup of tea and Dead Meat Kill Count in the evening🍵
if james were to recount this movie, id watch it immediately. this has to be one of my favorite christmas horror movies, i love how billy was hidden the entire movie and you never actually see what he looks like.
Just watched this one for the first time and DANG. I am super impressed. It's absolutely stood the test of time.
I can't believe I saw one of your videos recommended to me (pretty sure it was the Freddy Vs Jason KC) and ended up watching every single video afterwords. I always love these videos because theyre different than the normal movie reviews and you clearly have fun doing it. Great job, James! I always enjoy seeing your videos pop up on my feed every Friday.
MaKenzi M. I found this channel when watching some videos about Jason then was recommended a Friday the 13 kill count (forgot which one) after that watch every video he upload
MaKenzi M. mine was the chucks bride one
Same.
MaKenzi M. I did the same
MRS.MACK NOOOOO!!!!!
So glad you did Black Christmas and I can't wait for the remake next week! Two of my favorite movies to watch during Christmas.
CxVEN lol at first I thought you meant the movie not the video
Happy 50th Anniversary to this criminally underrated masterpiece
Sick Drunk Disney Reference dude
Ash aHow u comment from so long ago?
ye like wtf
Ash one day ago?
I get early access to the Kill Count as a reward for supporting James on Patreon!
ooh
10:43 the most scariest thing in horror movie history
I saw this randomly one Christmas when I was about 12 and the nightmarish phone calls have stuck with me ever since. They are frightening.
Ah yes, the 80's ended decades ago, yet the man who thinks an embryo is a baby remains as real and dangerous as ever.
Olivia Hussey is as underrated as this movie
“Wine-soaked sleep” is a George RR Martin phrase slipping out of you, it seems.
Lmao I didn't even realize (although next video I use "root and stem", intentionally lifted from Varys in the show)
Dead Meat hu
Philip Woodbury
I know she’s in shock and being chased by a murderer who killed her friends, but with how much they focused on Billy’s big brown eyes in that one shot you’d think she wouldn’t kill her innocent albeit suspicious boyfriend who she must know has blue eyes!
Anyways this movie was creepy and should be talked about more when it comes to classic horror movies!
Just saw this movie in theaters for its 50th anniversary and seeing it in theaters frickin rocked
I just watched this for the first time and it was great. I didn't know that it was considered the start of the slasher genre though, which makes it extra impressive.
James telling the killer to chill is so funny just his face saying chill it’s a it’s a a perfect meme template
You have no idea
You missed an opportunity to make an “I’m sorry, Dave” joke. Here’s mine. “I’m sorry, Dave. I’m afraid I can’t keep this child.”
Lots of guys are like that, and are super controlling regardless if they have legit any right to be
Cause at least the actual psycho would hopefully be a more rare occurrence even if it’s real
@@sodaboi2154but women don't trap a man , deceive him and trick him into having a baby ?
So a man being straight forward and telling you as is , is worse than a woman trapping a man who doesn't love her ?
Your generation is fucked and you're a prime example why
@@peterdanior4538that's more inconsiderate than psychopathic but sure women be crazy can I get a amen in the chat fellas.
No. That's a horrendous thing to say, "fella". I hope no innocent girl ever trusts you enough to marry you.@@Pelican07.23
The 1974 was so Good with Keeping billy anonymous! The Remake kinda killed that off but that was time in the 2000s where they made Buttloads of mediocre reboots of The Iconic flicks
Dont they do that now to
This movie is a classic
Collin Sorenson still do but not that much
Your videos ALWAYS makes my day. Watching your vids is enough for me and more entertaining than watching the movies themselves lol.
Just Some Guy without a Mustache same
Oh
it's the other guy
I just assume you are just an invisible entity on the internet, designed to comment on every youtube video.
WTF YOU ARE EVERYWHERE
facts. ive watched childs play 1,2,3 , bride of chuicky 1,000,000,000,000 times n love em but its is more entertaining watchen em on this kill count
I hope y’all recount this! I would love to hear more history and behind the scenes of this seminal slasher.
This Kill Count was worth the wait! So glad you gave this movie a look. This was a staple on the Space Channel up in Canada for a few years during this time of year. It’s dark, creepy and well made. It was all shot in Toronto, particularly on the grounds of the University of Toronto believe it or not.
Great work, Dead Meat!
I love you for making this, it's such a great movie
Yeet lets go Canadian horror movie
Edit: OMG THANKS FOR LOVING IT JAMES!

I love watching your old videos and seeing how much you’ve grown and change through the years. I’ve been consistently watching your RUclips videos for about five years now & it’s just truly amazing to see how far the channel has come 🖤
Also, can we talk about how this movie turned 50 years old this year ?!?!!! UNREAL
Thank you so much for the lovely comment and for sticking with us 😊
