The song seems more appropriate to older singers, who actually have some lines on their faces, and the theme fits the post apocalyptic look too. The past is gone. They gave it a whole different feel.

We made it out of town to camp. When you have no internet or phone signal and all it says is SOS you’ve gone far enough. Nice to come home to some nice songs/ videos and comments. Both versions are great but I have to give it to VoicePlay. Their ability to completely change a song so it’s fresh and different while also keeping the original feel without using instruments is incredible. 😅

Nice suggestion! I didn't think Voiceplay could carry the needed dynamics for this. I was wrong. 1st to 11 did a great cover. The vocals and harmonies worked for me. Good one today our man, thanks.🤠

Hard to break in on a song that was so important to me at `12 years old.
With that excuse, and despite talent on display, neither came close to the way the original makes me feel.

I was in high school when the original came out. It felt as if there were no limitations to your dreams. VoicePlay's cover is to me, more about continuing your dreams despite whatever gets in your way. Their version is more introspective and reminds me of the need for perseverance.
Thank you for giving us the chance to compare two completely different versions of the same song. But I think VP version is the better one. In some way it has something more... feeling, more depth

@@Anothercoverlover62 Maybe I should not judge. I didn´t know the song before VP covered it and now it seems I can´t imagine it performed any other way. The instruments seemed over the top? Does that make sense somehow?
