Steven Tyler wrote that song when he was 15 years old.🤘🏼The greatest feeling in an Aerosmith concert is the one you get singing along with every person there to this amazing anthem. It’s indescribable. 🔥
I agree. Saw them live here in Boston (where the band is from) in the mid-to-late 1980s... great show and one of the loudest concerts I've ever attended!
When this song came out it was the SHIT!! This is like Aerosmith's Stairway To Heaven. As a guitar player this was the song for everyone to learn how to play. This band has been through all the classic Rock N Roll demons and thank God they all came out alive and well. Before Covid they were setup in Vegas. As these bands are getting older they figured out hey lets play in one place Vegas the entertainment capital of the world and let the Fans come to us! Genius. No more touring.
@@dawnbailey910 Yes, everyone compares a Giant Hit that stands out to Stairway To Heaven. We say that's their Stairway To Heaven. This was Aerosmith's Stairway To Heaven.
I am 62yo and have to say, in my opinion, we had the BEST music growing up! I raised my children (now in their 30’s) with this music & they have such an appreciation for quality music today…
I'm a white man, 65 years of age... And I LOVE watching black people respond to things. In my early years we were trained (not by my parents) to be apprehensive of (ALL) black people. But watching MANY black men & women, and listening to them, on these videos, has helped shatter my fears of (ALL) blacks. I realize some white hate blacks and some blacks hate whites. That's true. I find my white self, endeared to you two, and people like you. I think this venue is a wonderful thing.
Hey Jai, I’m a black man who saw all these rockers in their hey day. “U R A HEAD BANGER NATURALLY!!!” Its so much music out there like that, that I know u’ll bang to!!
This was the song that made me fall in love with Aerosmith. I am 40 now. But when I was a kid my dad gave me a stack of records...including Aerosmith & MJ's Billie Jean album among dozens of others. Unfortunately I lost them during a flood. But man...this song takes me back to a simpler time. Great reaction 😊❤🙏
Steven Tyler (lead vocals) of Aerosmith had been taught to play piano... then became a drummer for local bands in Boston in the 60's. He formed Aerosmith w/ guitarist Joe Perry & bassist Tom Hamilton... and Ray Tabano on guitar in 1970. Tyler sang and played drums until drummer Joey Kramer joined, putting him up as the frontman. Soon after, guitarist Brad Whitford joined, ousting Tabano... Aerosmith got signed in 1972, their debut album released in 1973. 'Dream on' was 1 of Steven Tyler's first songs written... being broke & living in Boston w/ his bandmates, still dreaming about making it big after years of struggle. The song didn't do much in '73... but when Aerosmith's 3rd album 'Toys in the attic' became Aerosmith's first commercial hit record in 1975, 'Dream on' was re-released as a single and went top 40! Guitarist Joe Perry didn't like the song, so Brad Whitford played most of it in the studio.
Great Aerosmith songs: Make it, Mama Kin, Seasons of Wither, Woman of the World, Big Ten Inch Record, Uncle Salty, Toys in the Attic, Kings and Queens, Draw the Line, Sweet Emotion, Same old Song and Dance, Spaced, Lord of the Thighs, Back in the Saddle, Remember (Walking in the Sand)...... enjoy!!
when you hear someone say "classic rock" this is exactly what they are talking about right here... loved your reaction guys!! look into doing "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd, you will love that song and the words, 100% powerful
Love your reactions but I love watching Jai when she looks at you. EVERY time is like the first time she looked at you when she knew she was in love with you. She soooo is and it shows on her completely!!! I love it.
This was off their first album which came out in January 1973. It went nowhere because of no press, no radio, no airplay, no reviews, no interviews. They released their second album in March 1974(Get Your Wings) and it received much more airplay and publicity. People found out about their first album, went back and listened to it and the rest is history.
THOROUGHLY enjoyed this folks! My friends and I choreographed a dance to this when I was 12 yrs old! Eons ago. Great songs don't die. ❤️🤙Thanks for the awesome throwback. Jai, your reaction was priceless 😄🤙
Steven Tyler was like 23 yrs old on this album. Check out a band called Chain Reaction, song called "When I needed you" its 1966 and Steven Tyler singing and playing drums at 16 yrs old. Amazing.
This is one of those songs you can't turn down or turn off until it's done. If it comes on the radio while you're in a drive-thru, everyone behind you just has to wait.
😂 love it! Jai head bobbin! Get you some a that girl! I have always liked Motown and funk….but what a lot of people don’t realize rock and southern rock music were also very funky and soulful! Now imagine listening to that music and driving a 454 Chevelle with headers, a sig erson cam, all tripped out with incredible wide tires and beautiful Crager super sport wheels. Then you put that music on and get in some races, at your local cruise spots! Even though a lot of people did drugs back then…I didn’t, I didn’t need to. I got high riding in that car in the blasting that music, with my car rumbling shaken, shaken and shaken….😂😂 Man I miss those days. I was so blessed to be brought up during that time. 😊
Eminem used this song as a sample in "Sing For the Moment".😁🔥 It was a banger and a huge song for Em.😍😋 That may be where you heard it from.🤔 If not y'all oughta check it out!😅 I mean, what the heck, it's Eminem! 🐐😊🤣❤✌
I love your reaction to this. Aerosmith is truly one of the greatest rock bands ever. I've seen them in concert 2x, back in 91 and 2019. I grew up in a city next to Boston, and found out they used to practice in a friends garage a few blocks from me! 😲...
Old school Aerosmith is the best... Back In The Saddle,Big Ten Inch, Toys In The Attic, Kings &Queens ,Nobodys Fault. Steven Tyler was 14/15 years old when he wrote Dream On.

I couldn't agree more! Seeing them live is EPIC!
I agree. Saw them live here in Boston (where the band is from) in the mid-to-late 1980s... great show and one of the loudest concerts I've ever attended!
I saw them 5 times they are AMAZING in concert. Love them !!!!
I've been front row twice and seen them 3 other times from further back. Easily best concert you'll ever see.
True. Seen them 6 times!!! Those toxic twins are wildly entertaining!!!!
Eminem sampled this in Sing for the moment
One of my favorites by Em!! Not just for the lyrics, which are great, but also for the musicality....how it flows from rap to rock seamlessly.
Ruined a classic
@@magnata187 how can u ruin a classic?? Dream on is still amazing and always will be, it definitely hasn’t been ruined
@@magnata187 how was it ruined? He used it as a chorus. It has nearly the same message as well. It's literally the rap version of this song.
@@darthrevan2957 how? It was trash

Yes, that's exactly how I see it, as Aerosmith's Stairway to Heaven
Stairway was somewhat derivative, if you're aware of the musical landscape of the day. Dream On kinda stands on its own.
This song is still the shit!!! Still love Aerosmith!!!!!
Still is the shit 😂

This song is almost 50 yrs. old! I was a 15year old High school kid when this was released. I'm going to be 65 in August. Those were the days.
Seeing Aerosmith perform this live...epic!
Nothing wrong with rewinding Aerosmith. Good tune.
