Iam 64 years old and still ridding Harleys have 2 bought my first harley at 20and had my first legal beer at crystal lake it was a beautiful ride I grew up in glendora and lived on azusa canyon and glendora mountain Rd thanks for the video and memory's
I live 3 min over on the Canadian side of the boarder and i'm getting a throttle itch too finally get a passport i have family in Arizona so this vid is really making me itch. Haven't seen then since we were little kids and of course they're bikers too.
A 1978 mud-and-rock slide took out a 4.4-mile chunk of the mountain highway about 27 miles north of Azusa, leaving a gap between State Route 39 and its more famous cousin, State Route 2, better known as Angeles Crest Highway. In 2011,Cal Trans had 32 million set aside to re-connect Hwy 39 to Hwy 2. Before construction was to begin, Cal Trans allocated the funds to repair a bridge on California Hwy 1 in northern California.
Great clip Matt. Love it that you show your routes to your subscribers. Wish more people do this. Gives me an idea of what to try and do when I am in the area/plan a trip to CA.
Great video Matt! The drone footage mixed with the footage from on the bikes was great. Your editing and style overall has greatly improved. Keep it up!
Matt outstanding videos!!! I like the way you add the pics/part numbers of parts/gear for your bike and ride. The “Learn how to ride a motorcycle” video is on point thanks!!! Perfect for new riders to get that understanding!!!
One of your best videos. Not to take take away from the others but this was great especially for those (like me) who can't ride because its the dead of winter.
Excellent video with nice bikes . I haven't had any close calls in the mountains , but this guy I'd ride with did. We'd go to Denver on the sport bikes and put the bikes to the test , at one point we weren't going very fast , he was maybe a block ahead of me , I seen white smoke . Turns out a black BMW hit his brakes and so did this dude , this dude said it was the cars fault , going into his lane . No many people are as good as they think till the test comes , I myself learned that a bike will quickly go into the other lane if the curve is too sharp . I know , learn the rode first . I really like Denver's mountains , it's a beauty out there
Great stuff , seat looks good it,s still winter over here in Europe salt on the ground. Prepareing my seat to get a new upholstery, and look ,and finaly sort the suspension out with the LDC nivomat from wilbers. What a blast you and your mates had.
Great thanks for sharing, looks like the ideal playground for riding. Good to see David's customised S in action he's made a fantastic job of his machine. Wishing you all the very best for 2018.
Honestly your videos are what made me decide to get a Harley. Up to this point it’s been nothing but sportbikes. You should do more videos like this. Really enjoyed watching the ride.
Really nice video, Matt. I love this ride series. Great mix of showing the bikes, on board camera footage and drone. Great way to lower my blood pressure after watching the news :))
Fantastic video Matt. Keep on making them. Love the dro e shots. For what it's worth, I bought an 18 street glide special halfway based on your videos.... You are a credit to the Harley Davidson company and brand...
This is what I like to see from you Matt! I enjoy all your videos but really enjoy it when you go out and ride in a group like that! Keep up the good work and Ride Safe!
Great Video Matt. Loved doing this in the 70s. Still Enjoy it just don't push it as much. Have gained a little wisdom in my old age, not much but some. Have a 2017 S.G.S.
Greet form Indonesia Matt... I love Harley-Davidson since 1981, the first Harley I touch was a 1955 one. I never ride a Harley until today, but I will buy one next year. Street Glide and Street Bob are my favourite ones... Great video Matt !! (sorry for my poor English)
Damn that sounds awesome! The seat makes that bike! I just put V&H head pipes and Bassani DNT cans. Haven’t ridden it yet thanks to shit CT winter temps and salty roads, but I can’t wait to hear it open up!
At the moment, it's only unique feature is that it sucks. Can't wait to retire and move to a warmer climate. 46 years minus 4 years in the military i have lived in this swamp. The older i get the more and more winter blows.
Wow nice road! It’s on my list now. The 241 looks like it’ll be a great ride from San Diego then take the same route you did. I’ll sire be bringing another gopro with me so I can have sick footage. Hope to see you there one day.
Hey matt i am a fan of your videos and have been for a while i like how you really go into details in the review videos and i love your bike. i plan on getting the same bike in vivid black, im gonna call it the vader glide. Ride safe bro
It looks like you and the boys had a tripped out time tearing through the canyon. We have some good riding like that around my way as well. Should you and the Storm Glide ever find yourself in the mountains of Southwestern PA, you gotta head up to world famous Ohiopyle.
Great vlog Matt, I don't think my Fatboy lo Special would like it though, when I lived in Oz for 25 yrs I had a Laverda Jota , triple cylinder 1000 cc, that would have loved it. You've done a lovely job on your new machine, imagine what it'll be like when you Stage 4 it, all the best 👍 😎
Looks like a nice ride but I wouldn't trade the hills of San Diego out towards Julian. Its nice up where you live but traffic is nuts. I went to college up in La Mirada and can't believe how much things have changed. Dig watching your videos Matt.
Fantastic video, Matt. I travel from NYC back to So Cal once or twice a year to visit old friends (I was stationed at El Toro, Camp Pendleton and Miramar from 90 - 96, when stateside) and ride. Your videos always give me inspiration for routes and places to visit. P.S. The resole now needed on your homeboy Wings made that an expensive ride, but it looks like it was worth the fun you guys had?! Keep em' coming!
That looks all kinds of fun. I recently acquired my first bike after having moved to Florida. I WAS in Idaho...in Idaho there's twisty mountain and canyon roads all over the place, but work necessitated a move to Florida, which is literally flatter than Kansas. Nothin but straight flat boring roads through straight flat boring countryside. I need to get back out west pronto.
TwoGun Gunnar there's a road in east TN that goes to NC that is a great ride called the Dragon. Like the one in this video there's a ton of kids who think they're on fast and furious which includes some sports bikers. It's full of tight turns but also amazing views.
TwoGun Gunnar yeah it can definitely be dangerous. It's still a great drive in a car as well even if you want to drive it before riding just to get comfortable with the turns. Some of them are very tight.
You have access to such great roads. How is the ground clearance/ lean angle on your bike? That is what concerns me most on cruisers...some people run out of lean angle entering a corner too fast on a cruiser.
When you're in the front turn your trunk camera around so we can see the guys behind you, maybe??? Not sure what we'll be able to see but it might be cool to watch the bikes behind... Just a thought.
Sick ass video as usual. I used to love that road, heading up to the Rock Store when I had an R1. Haven't been since I bought my SG. Can't wait to hear back up Enjoy your bike, and keep the videos coming. P.S. Why is there always that one Yahoo that gives a thumbs down to a nice video? smh
Matt Laidlaw My brother use to rub it in pretty hard when he was stationed out there. Now that he lives 10 minutes away, now he shares that same winter grief. Keep up the great vids!
How are you so calm in your videos im watching you run thru your gears and listening to them ponies i start cussing maybe cause i havent rode in 2 months
Matt, your new StormGlide is white hot! I probably would go for something like that if I didn't have a Lava Orange CVO SG on order. Love the vid's keep'm comming.
Currently my favourite road. That's insane you ride from San Clemente to Baldwin Park. Not a chance in hell I'd do that every day. I lived in Dana for a few years and I thought the ride up to Huntington was too long, lol.
Hey Matt cool video , Eddie .. Yamaha Roadliner. I’ve been coming here since 1977. Great place to drive or ride. Used to come up here in my Ford pick up truck as a teenager w/ my buddies descending that mountain pretty fast at night passing cars. Last year I got pulled over by police for doing pretty much the same thing ! ( you’d think I’ve learned something after 30 yrs. ) I was trying to ditch my tail of cars at night time to avoid their bright lights not knowing one of the cars was a cop! Cool young officer let me go on a warning since he rides also. He said he didn’t have a problem with me going 30 over the speed limit or passing cars. He said I do have a problem with you passing the middle divider and going into the opposing lane. Said he lost one of his fellow officers that way and went over the cliff. You can really have a lot of fun in Canyons but we need to slow the fu$& down ! ( especially on Ortega Hwy ) ya ! A lot of us seem to think we’re on the Fast & Furious series. Lol-
👍. Was just thinking about riding up this way. I’m a newer rider bought my first bike at your dealership in 2015. Always Love your videos keep them coming!!
I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work. If I lived in your area I would buy from you just because of all the info you give everyone. Would like to know how you like that seat? Thinking about it for a Road Glide. Thanks Matt.
That looks fun, I’ll have to try that. I just took a 200 mile ride starting on the 74 from San Clemente to 15 south, 79 to Julian, 78 Borrego Springs, to Palm Springs to 74 home 🏡
Matt Laidlaw Whats up Matt ! Eddie on the Roadliner here. Ya , joined my friend here on that ride also. I noticed you didn’t have a run in w/ JASON ! ( up by Crystal Lake ) Haha ... one less problem !
Loved the canyon footage. The drone stuff was great. Engine seemed pretty darn healthy pushing 900 lbs of tin up them hills. Enjoy the reviews, but this was a nice change of pace.
Matt Awesome ride. I really like your choice in the SGS. I just picked up one the same color just over 2 weeks ago. Love the bike. I have just over 1300 miles on mine so far. Quick question if you don't mind. What brand is the phone mount you are using? I'd like to get one of those. Love the low profile. Take care.
Hey Matt could you tell me what kind of bars you have on your bike and what the pull back is on them I ordered a set of vindikta bars with 8.5 inch pull back I hope they aren't uncomfortable
Iam 64 years old and still ridding Harleys have 2 bought my first harley at 20and had my first legal beer at crystal lake it was a beautiful ride I grew up in glendora and lived on azusa canyon and glendora mountain Rd thanks for the video and memory's
Your vids just keep getting better as your skills (and equipment) improve. You keep makin em and we'll keep watchin em!! Thanks Matt!
Thank you Sir! I appreciate your viewership
Nothing like a great ride, great weather, good friends and Harley Davidsons!

Lived on the east coast my entire life (almost 7 decades). Love seeing the roads and beauty of the west coast. Love your vids, Matt. Keep them coming.
Great bikes, great music, great roads, great video. thanks again Matt
Clint Young thank you
The music was close to horror movie music. A slight change and that would have been epic. Loo
I live 3 min over on the Canadian side of the boarder and i'm getting a throttle itch too finally get a passport i have family in Arizona so this vid is really making me itch. Haven't seen then since we were little kids and of course they're bikers too.
Awesome vid Matt ! The drone shots looked really cool and your bike sounds amazing. Ride on bro !
Mike Wastian thanks man. Yea, I’m loving the drone.
Thank you for the warm sunny ride Matt! The temp is 15 with a wind chill of 1 here in Oklahoma. ✌🏻
A 1978 mud-and-rock slide took out a 4.4-mile chunk of the mountain highway about 27 miles north of Azusa, leaving a gap between State Route 39 and its more famous cousin, State Route 2, better known as Angeles Crest Highway. Interesting. Thanks for the info
Great clip Matt. Love it that you show your routes to your subscribers. Wish more people do this. Gives me an idea of what to try and do when I am in the area/plan a trip to CA.
cvang234 glad I could help.
Great video Matt. Love the 2 different perspectives with the drone and the rider on the bike.
Great video Matt! The drone footage mixed with the footage from on the bikes was great. Your editing and style overall has greatly improved. Keep it up!
Just what I needed as I have ice and snow all over my roads. Music was a great choice and your bike looks soo amazing!! Thanks for the vid....
Great bike and great route Matt! It's about 5 degrees F where I am with salt on the roads so saying I'm jealous is an understatement.
Dang. Take a trip to CA! Weather here is great right now.
Crystal lake trading Post breakfast burritos are awesome! I love going up that route
For sure man. Great spot to ride to
Cool ride. Love these adventure spots with all the cool places to stop at and checkout. Thank you
Matt outstanding videos!!! I like the way you add the pics/part numbers of parts/gear for your bike and ride. The “Learn how to ride a motorcycle” video is on point thanks!!! Perfect for new riders to get that understanding!!!
Thanks for taking the class my friend. Hopefully it helped
One of your best videos. Not to take take away from the others but this was great especially for those (like me) who can't ride because its the dead of winter.
beautiful customized bike and how great the cafe is
Excellent video with nice bikes . I haven't had any close calls in the mountains , but this guy I'd ride with did. What a blast you and your mates had.
Great thanks for sharing, looks like the ideal playground for riding. Good to see David's customised S in action he's made a fantastic job of his machine. Wishing you all the very best for 2018.
This may be one of your best videos- such a sick ride...
Danny Clancey thanks 👍🏻
Honestly your videos are what made me decide to get a Harley. Up to this point it’s been nothing but sportbikes. You should do more videos like this. Really enjoyed watching the ride.
Great Video !! Thank you for a new Hwy , and campground to check out ... the drone footage of the guys descending the Canyon was great !
Thank you!
One of the coolest videos I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing guy's. Keep up the good work.
Really nice video, Matt. I love this ride series. Great mix of showing the bikes, on board camera footage and drone. Great way to lower my blood pressure after watching the news :))
Oregon Outback haha. Motorcycle riding is therapy for the soul.
Hey Matt, I am a kind of jealous about what sort of great roads you can travel on. This is really a very good video to watch. Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Fantastic video Matt. Keep on making them. Love the dro e shots. For what it's worth, I bought an 18 street glide special halfway based on your videos....

Nice ride, been wanting to get the crew out there and check it out. This weekend weather looks prime...
If you haven't been you'll definitely like it. Check for ice and snow (road Conditions) before you head out
Love this ride! Did this ride with the OC HOGS back in October. Very scenic and made for motorcycling! Ride safe.
I never liked this model, BUT, I like this bike, a lot! Congratulations Matt.
Bonito video, Matt. Son ustedes los mejores. Gooooood

Damn that sounds awesome! The seat makes that bike! I just put V&H head pipes and Bassani DNT cans. Haven’t ridden it yet thanks to shit CT winter temps and salty roads, but I can’t wait to hear it open up!
Awesome editing and footage of the drone mixed with the go pro near the end of video.. good memory captured and shared..
Watching an dreaming bikes in the barn on tenders mix of snow an ice on the way by Friday morning here in Northwest Bama 😞
Meanwhile in Minnesota it's -35 below with the wind chill and a fresh 6" of snow on the ground. Winter sucks.
powerman1972, well Minnesota has its own unique endearing features and characteristics
At the moment, it's only unique feature is that it sucks. Can't wait to retire and move to a warmer climate. 46 years minus 4 years in the military i have lived in this swamp. The older i get the more and more winter blows.

OldJarhead36 Thanks brother.
I enjoy your videos. Please keep it up. 39 is a GREAT ride.
7ludig Thanks. Yes, 39 is good.
That Low Rider S is sweet. I like it a lot. Not as much as the SGS but I do like it quite a bit. I love the videos you upload.
It looks like you and the boys had a tripped out time tearing through the canyon. We have some good riding like that around my way as well. Should you and the Storm Glide ever find yourself in the mountains of Southwestern PA, you gotta head up to world famous Ohiopyle.
Thanks I'll remember that

Nice ride coming off the mountain you could get in over your head if you weren’t careful ride safe
LOVE your "storm glide". That bike is just as damn cool as it can get! ;-D
Matt,
Can you do a video on what adds you have done to your 2018. I really like the bar setup!!
Here you go my friend

Yeah I've heard of it. It's renowned as one of the most dangerous 11-mile stretches of road in the world. I'd love to ride it one day.
TwoGun Gunnar yeah it can definitely be dangerous. It's still a great drive in a car as well even if you want to drive it before riding just to get comfortable with the turns. Some of them are very tight.
First I have to escape the sun-drenched nightmarescape which is Florida.
You have access to such great roads. How is the ground clearance/ lean angle on your bike? That is what concerns me most on cruisers...some people run out of lean angle entering a corner too fast on a cruiser.

Chuck Emry yea. I’ll try that.
If you have any other videos like this , please share them . Thank you
Sick ass video as usual. I used to love that road, heading up to the Rock Store when I had an R1. Haven't been since I bought my SG. Can't wait to hear back up
Enjoy your bike, and keep the videos coming. P.S. Why is there always that one Yahoo that gives a thumbs down to a nice video? smh
Makes me wanna ride.....too bad winter snow gets in my way.
Sorry man
Matt Laidlaw My brother use to rub it in pretty hard when he was stationed out there. Now that he lives 10 minutes away, now he shares that same winter grief.
Keep up the great vids!
How are you so calm in your videos im watching you run thru your gears and listening to them ponies i start cussing maybe cause i havent rode in 2 months
justin pigg haha. You need to get out and ride!
Awesome Video! love the bike. What kind of seat is that?
Very nice. I have to come in the USA one day.
Great video Matt. I'm curious, for this kind of trip if the lighter Sport Glide would shine, especially with a stage 4 kit?
Matt, your new StormGlide is white hot! I probably would go for something like that if I didn't have a Lava Orange CVO SG on order. Love the vid's keep'm comming.
Currently my favourite road. That's insane you ride from San Clemente to Baldwin Park. Not a chance in hell I'd do that every day. I lived in Dana for a few years and I thought the ride up to Huntington was too long, lol.
TJ I’m not on the bike every single
Day. I usually take my car.
Matt Laidlaw that's even worse, lol.
Wasn't a big fan of the seat on the new bike but meow that i've seen it in a few vids it looks like not a bad fit for a taller rider.
Yea I like it so far.
Lol-
Eddie B. Haha very true.
👍. Was just thinking about riding up this way. I’m a newer rider bought my first bike at your dealership in 2015. Always Love your videos keep them coming!!
fabe 1 Thank you. Yes. Try it. It’s a great ride.
Great video Matt, hey can you tell me what exhaust system and Cams are you running please?
What bars are those? So many for my new street glide special to choose from!
I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work. If I lived in your area I would buy from you just because of all the info you give everyone. Would like to know how you like that seat? Thinking about it for a Road Glide. Thanks Matt.
Could you please tell me what the name of the song is? Great ride and sick bikes.
Wow Matt, that is one sweet bike you have there. Love the white paint. Peace brother.
tccoup355 thank you. Take care.
Matt, I noticed that you don’t where any armor in your jacket or gloves. Have you ever went down? Great road by the way 👍
I have never been down on the road. I've been down a lot in the dirt.
Can you see those mirrors with the new bars?
Not very good. I'm thinking about changing my mirrors
Matt Laidlaw I have the HD profile mirrors on my bike. I really like them
Matt,
When you go out canyon shredding; what music are you blasting out the speakers on you RGS?
What bands does Matt laidlaw listen to?
FXDLS1990 breaking Benjamin, 21 Pilots, Korn, weezer, rise against. Just to name a few.
That looks fun, I’ll have to try that. I just took a 200 mile ride starting on the 74 from San Clemente to 15 south, 79 to Julian, 78 Borrego Springs, to Palm Springs to 74 home 🏡
Very Nice. What are you riding?
Matt Laidlaw Whats up Matt ! Eddie on the Roadliner here. Ya , joined my friend here on that ride also. I noticed you didn’t have a run in w/ JASON ! ( up by Crystal Lake ) Haha ... one less problem !
I’m riding a 2017 Softail Deluxe. Tours pretty good and nimble around town. 🤙
Nice job on the video Matt you're really getting good sir! By the way do you notice a difference with the taller rear shocks? Thanks!
Yea, very noticeable difference. The ride is significantly better
Loved the canyon footage. The drone stuff was great. Engine seemed pretty darn healthy pushing 900 lbs of tin up them hills. Enjoy the reviews, but this was a nice change of pace.
Thank you. I’m trying to make them more cinematic.
www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/scorpion-covert-white-helmet
Beautiful video
Daniel Serra thanks
Man your bike sounds nice
How crowded is this compared to Ortega or ACH?
Matt Awesome ride. I really like your choice in the SGS. I just picked up one the same color just over 2 weeks ago. Love the bike. I have just over 1300 miles on mine so far. Quick question if you don't mind. What brand is the phone mount you are using? I'd like to get one of those. Love the low profile. Take care.
Hey Matt could you tell me what kind of bars you have on your bike and what the pull back is on them I ordered a set of vindikta bars with 8.5 inch pull back I hope they aren't uncomfortable
Matt, Is David wearing Espinosa leather gloves
k doggy probably. Yes I think so.
Why did you chose the SG instead of going for a CVO SG ?
