Then they couldn't charge you more and make more. It's an outdated practice honestly, and they should just do something with RPG Maker that many other main line software does.. I think unreal doesn't make you pay anything until you basically make money off of a game. For RPG maker.. i think a 4 dollar monthly fee maybe would be better.. and they could just keep developing the software.
@@Real_The_Goof I would pay a monthly fee of 5€ gladly if it meant the engine received solid updates. This system of releasing carbon copies of the last engine for 60€ (or more) is awful.
Still surprised that after all these years, they've stuck to Dragon Quest 1 and Final Fantasy 1 for the battle views. No Still no Shining Force or Phantasy Star 2/4 battle engines. I'm sure they can easily be built, but nothing out of the box? Thanks for video. I'll save my money on this one.

I miss your over-excited tone and gibbering titles and names which didn't make sense in the MV tutorial, but hey this is a great MZ intro!! Thanks for a quick update.
I have missed your videos. I really like the RPG Maker MV and have spent some money into it with DLCs, maybe someday I'll buy the MZ. I really loved your Translation Plugin and I still have one problem with it, translating the Database. My main language is Brazilian Portuguese and so is my Maker. Welcome back and congratulations for your dedicated work
Huh, I totally forgot all about this channel...oh well, great video! Gives a nice overview over things, so good job on that ^^ I havent done RPG maker stuff in years because I got into modding so I doubt Ill get this one, especially since it doesnt seem THAT different...but still nice to see regardless.
The fact that you can summarize all the "new" stuff in MZ in 3 minutes when it's supposed to be the new version of the engine is beyond sad. How is it 2020 and they still haven't updated the engine to use more than 1 core and properly use the GPU? How can they announce the "4 layers" as a new feature when they themselves removed them, even when everyone loved layers in XP and missed them in VX? This is at most, a $5 update. The worst part of it all, it's been the longest time between new versions and this is all they did.
That's something you can say to whole RM franchise, not just MZ, or MV, or VX Ace, or... anything. RM is one of the most stagnant program series ever known to me.
Bruh everyone thought he's dead and now here he is, just popping up lmao. Good to have you back, please stay safe and give us a nudge every once in a while!
Your upbeat videos and exciting MV tutorials always inspired me to keep going. I am always informed and entertained by your content. MZ kinda Womps. I get it. Running out of money. I think focusing on awesome assets would be a better money making route. This isn't Madden or FIFA. You just can't make a few updates and sell it as new and people will mindlessly buy it. Or will they?
Yeah, it's always been weird how they focus on new versions that barely change anything to make money when people are starving for assets and they could make a ton more money selling them. I guess ultimately it's easier to pay one guy to code some minor changes to RPGMaker than contract tons of artists to make assets though.
Hey i loved your MV plugins they turned me on a lot, like this saxy video and hearing your saxy voice. I'm going to update to MZ now. I am using 7 of your plug ins: pkm trainer sprite press start gameovercore retryupgrade menubackgrounds gameupgrade credits I hope they still work in rpg MZ.
I like some of these changes. They seem like such QoL changes. However these also seem like they should be part of a MV update and not a separate engine. It’ll be especially upsetting if MV scripts don’t work well in it and require a lot of tweaking.
I fell like this could have been an upgrade instead of a separate product. I own every other RPG Maker version... and feel im forced to keep purchasing which ever is newest for the new features. Going to stick with MV for now.

Don't give them ideas...
Because they need money?
Money
This honestly pisses me off that it wasn't just added to MV... instead they had to get greedy and make you pay for a new engine....
... Your lack of motivation at thr end actually made me chuckle!
it's good to hear from you again dude! also how did i.... not know that this released?
Still surprised that after all these years, they've stuck to Dragon Quest 1 and Final Fantasy 1 for the battle views. No Still no Shining Force or Phantasy Star 2/4 battle engines. I'm sure they can easily be built, but nothing out of the box?
Thanks for video. I'll save my money on this one.
gotta admit, that little "subscribe" at the end got me. XD
welcome back and thanks for the video :)
It's great to hear your voice again. Amidst all these 2020 BS.
ur rpg maker mv tutorilas were so helpful! thanks! subscribed
Hey, I'll probably never get RPG Maker MZ(or atleast till a big sale) but I just wanted to thank you for all the entertaining yet on-point tutorials you've done over the years. :)
Omg ... Your still alive ... Very informative video dho.
Everything I learned on how to use RPG maker is from SRDude, I'm actually so hyped he's "back?" I hope he is. I needed this comparison honestly, and I think I might wait till MZ is on a big sale. I can live with just MV at the moment. I hope your alright man, glad to hear from you.
I miss your over-excited tone and gibbering titles and names which didn't make sense in the MV tutorial, but hey this is a great MZ intro!! Thanks for a quick update.
Are you planning to come back? I miss the videos so much. They were great!! :)
Unfortunately he's too busy eating Oreos to come back
I have missed your videos. I really like the RPG Maker MV and have spent some money into it with DLCs, maybe someday I'll buy the MZ. I really loved your Translation Plugin and I still have one problem with it, translating the Database. My main language is Brazilian Portuguese and so is my Maker. Welcome back and congratulations for your dedicated work
I just watched this after coming from your MV tutorials, WOW your voice is different!
My GuyZer! You're back! Glad to see you mate!!!
It seems the tileset going a bit stale since VXA. :(
The leap from 2003 to XP is still the most prominent to this day.
Good to see you again, fellow game dev!
Thanks. Now I can safely wait to buy MZ until a discount.
if you are only gonna use it for yourself and for your friends you could just pirate it Lmao.
I miss your content, thanks for coming back with the new rpg software 👍
will your plugins still work with RMMZ? @SRDude?
From MV to MZ no plugins work directly unfortunately.
I just wish they made a 3d rpg maker. So i can build my assets in 3d studio max and import them in instead of 2d
MV3D Plugin
The fact that you can summarize all the "new" stuff in MZ in 3 minutes when it's supposed to be the new version of the engine is beyond sad. How is it 2020 and they still haven't updated the engine to use more than 1 core and properly use the GPU? How can they announce the "4 layers" as a new feature when they themselves removed them, even when everyone loved layers in XP and missed them in VX?
This is at most, a $5 update. The worst part of it all, it's been the longest time between new versions and this is all they did.
there are people who might not have liked MV but like this
That's something you can say to whole RM franchise, not just MZ, or MV, or VX Ace, or... anything.
RM is one of the most stagnant program series ever known to me.
Why only 1 core and no proper gpu support..
Because... Html5
Where were u all these days 😔💖 I missed u so much 🙌
Hey...!! You are back...!! Love your videos. :D
Thanks SRDude, been a while. ^^
Bruh everyone thought he's dead and now here he is, just popping up lmao. Good to have you back, please stay safe and give us a nudge every once in a while!
Welcome back SRD xP Glad you're back in the game of things.
Thanks for the video! Very useful.
oh cool, features MV should have had!
Wow, 5 years of developing really payed off!! Great job rpgmakerweb!!
...
-_-
Will you begin making new plugins or at least remake your original MV plygins for MZ???
Nice video, I was waiting for.
Lol i watched your mv tutorials. I was looking for a video like this.
Your posting again, yay!
$20 we arent gunna hear from him for at least another month... *sigh :[
time to remake all plugins!!
Nice to see you are back, always thought you were a cool dude, not sure if you remember me but I sent you a picture of my cat one time on Twitter
Thank you for uploading a video to put my eyes on.
Same time in 2 years?
Hey i loved your MV plugins they turned me on a lot, like this saxy video and hearing your saxy voice. I'm going to update to MZ now.
I am using 7 of your plug ins:
pkm trainer sprite
press start
gameovercore
retryupgrade
menubackgrounds
gameupgrade
credits
I hope they still work in rpg MZ.
Ah, bless you. Now I know MZ isn't worth my money yet as a casual RPG Maker user. I'll wait for a sale. Thanks a bunch for the quick video
I like some of these changes. They seem like such QoL changes. However these also seem like they should be part of a MV update and not a separate engine. It’ll be especially upsetting if MV scripts don’t work well in it and require a lot of tweaking.
MZ = MV + some built-in YanFly plugins
also, welcome back dude :DD
I fell like this could have been an upgrade instead of a separate product. I own every other RPG Maker version... and feel im forced to keep purchasing which ever is newest for the new features. Going to stick with MV for now.
