The bracelet is still $55 on strapcode's site. The price variations are due to the different clasp options. For the super oyster there are two versions - a 22-18mm taper (same as stock jubilee) and a 22-20mm taper.
Just put one of these on my newly acquired 007 because of this video. It looks very nice and gives the watch the solid feel kind of like my Steinhart Ocean 1. The stock jubilee is not bad but the oyster is much more solid feeling. I love these SKX they are the perfect size and fit for a smaller size wrist like mine and very affordable.
Mike, based on your video review I ordered the Super Oyster II from Strapcode even before my 007 arrived. I just swapped the original Jubilee out for the Oyster and it is just about the perfect combo IMO. The heft and the visual impact seem more in alignment now at least to my taste. Even with the expense of the new band, this is some of the best watch money I've spent! Thanks for the info that helped with my decision.
Hi Jason, glad to hear you're happy with it! I'm thinking of switching the Oyster over to my SKX007, because I wear it more than the 009. I like the Jubilee, too, but the Oyster is a bit less blingy, and looks more solid.
Nice review. I have both an oyster and president from Strapcode and I find the unsigned buckle disappointing. The safety clasp is flimsy and there's only three micro-adjustments compared to five on the stock jubilee. As far as the bracelet itself, my only complaint is that there is disproportionate space between the endlink and first bracelet link. Other than that, a nice upgrade over stock but the president style is pricey at $80.
Yes the oyster deployment clasp looks like high qyality and very cool as hell..... The oyster all around makes the watch feel like a prestige like a great solid diver.... But I agree the jubileeh aint SHIT like people say. some people mock the seiko bracelets.
just bought the Super Oyster watch band for SEIKO Diver SKX007 Brushed, Chamfer Diver Clasp on Amazon for $69.99 , they do not accept Paypal that's suck , can't wait for it to get here .
Nice review, Thanks for the info on where to obtain the bracelet. I just bought my son the SKX009 with the jubilee style bracelet, but would like to give him the option of the oyster style as well so he can change it up a bit.
AjaxForever wish I had known that last week, I just ordered a 007 for my son. Is your sapphire domed? I really like the high domed diver look and there may be a 007 customized in my future.
May I ask, did you use the stock Seiko spring bars or the Strapcode spring bars? Cause I ordered an Oyster 22mm for my SRPA21 took the Strapcode to my jeweler to replace it an it was too tight to fit the spring bars into the lugs, but you made it look simple...what's your secret?!
It's been a while since I did the operation, but I think I just used the included spring bars. Possibly my secret is video editing, but I don't really remember it being a difficult operation :-).
Thanks for a great review, Mike. It's just what I needed to decide to buy the bracelet. I'm replacing a super engineer II, which is just a little over the top for me. Looking forward to the Oyster. Many thanks.
just pulled the trigger on a skx009k1 with the rubber and this bracelet ....cant wait to get it, just hope i dont get a misaligned chapter ring :P. cheers
Hi Mike , I wonder wich of the two Super oyster type that Strap Code offers did you bought and made this video , the Curved End one , model SS221803B019 , or the model SS222003B010 . Because Strap Code show´s that two in their web page . Thank you !
+JBGLX Hmm, there can be only one type of end that is compatible with the SKX00x models, I'd think. Anyway, I ordered mine off Amazon, and it has the curved end piece.
I fitted a Miltat MT.045 to my Seiko Oyster watch.Much heavier and like the screw pin strap and not the pin and collar strap of the original strap. Also the 1.80mm spring bars, much stronger.
Hey Mike, great vid. Have you considered a nice leather strap on either the 07 or 09? I'm a big fan of leather but I'm not sure if it would look good on these.
I'm actually not a fan of leather straps. I mean I like the way they look, but not the way they feel. Bracelets or NATO for me. It's possible the right (sporty) leather strap could look good one one of these.
I'm not sure. The clasp on the StrapCode Oyster is a bit nicer than the clasp on the Seiko Jubilee bracelet, BTW. I don't mind not having it signed, personally. Also, stay tuned: I'll be doing a Super Jubilee bracelet review before too long :-)
Hey Mike, Question regarding the oyster bracelet on the 009. How's the finish match up to the case? Are there any color differences or brushing differences? I'm wanting to purchase one,but am afraid the color/finish will not match.
Kelly Alexander I think it matches fine, and I'm pretty particular. If you're extremely particular you may find issues, but it would be hard for me to predict that. I'm happy with both the aftermarket bracelets that I have (both Strap Code).
Everything is so well made except one part that look like it could break at any moment. The thin metal sheet that attach the clasp to the braclet itself. Anybody else have a concern with this?
hello Mike, I would like to resize my skx009's jubilee and I don't know what is the screwdriver type that I have to purchase. Could you please advice me ? thank you for your help.
Could you describe a bit how to remove the original bracelet? From what I've read this watch has thick lugs and is a hassle to remove. Also, do you need a springbar removal tool or is a thin blade enough? Thanks, and great vid.
Yeah, the fat-pinned original bracelet was a pain to remove. I used a pin tool, but it was still very hard. The problem is the fat Seiko pins don't have any "rings" around them, so there's nothing to grab onto. I basically had to force the wedge of my pin tool into the gap between the fat part of the pin and the lug, and press harder than I liked. Eventually, each pin got wedged out of position so I could remove it. It took me a good 20 minutes to do, I'd say. I put the new bracelet in with the included (fat) pins. These pins at least have the double raised ring on the outside -- might make it easier to remove if I ever need to. A thin blade with a very small profile (for example a small swiss army knife blade) might do the trick. However, I'd be afraid of cutting a finger off in the process :-).
I bought a Oyster bracelet for my SSN231P2. The watch came with a leather strap. I like leather strap, but I wanted a bracelet so I won't destroy the strap. It fit's great on the on the watch. Great job on the video.
Hi Mike, I enjoyed the video. How is the strap holding up? I've been considering the 009, what are your thoughts on the watch after the time you have had it??
+David Michienzi Both my Oyster and my Jubilee bracelets are doing fine. No issues, whatsoever. I still think the 007/009 models are the best value true diving watch you can buy.
I'm thinking about buying the Super Oyster bracelet from strapcode for my skx009, but i'm afraid of the weight, as it might be too heavy and get uncomfortable in the end... what do you think Mike??
Elias Mylonas It's definitely heavier than the Seiko bracelet, but I've never found it to be an issue. But then I've been wearing an Omega Seamaster 2531.80 for nearly 20 years. I think you may find that it "balances" the watch nicely because the bracelet has a little heft. It's all a matter of preference, though.
Great video. I appreciate the time, which strapcode oyster is this? Super oyster II, 22mm Brushed Oyster Solid Link 316L Stainless, Or is this the 22/20, or 22/18? There are so many variations of this oyster it gets confusing.
Here is the exact product name that I bought on Amazon: "22mm Super Oyster II Watch Bracelet for Seiko Diver Skx007/009/011 Curved End" Hope that helps!
Mike Thomas I'm in Italy and I can't find that bracelet here.. Will this fit?www.swissforniture.it/it/bracciali-in-acciaio-per-orologi/1909-bracciale-inox-bm-curvo.html Thank you
Hey i really need your help, im buying my first Seiko .. but im lost ! ive been doing research for DAYS, ended up on ( Seiko SKX007K2.... Seiko SKX009K2 ) . which one do you think ? PS im not sure where to fine the J models for both the 007 and the 009 ! idk if it makes a big difference
Do you have any thought on this watch ?? ive never seen it before .. is it real ?? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AIFSE3M/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2YTUYYI1PANGK
J was produced to be sold in Japan while K is for wider range market and SKX013 is for US market. The model no are just complying with the trade laws of the targeted market which means that J model was not made in Japan and K model was not made in Korea. They were made in Malaysia.... I could go on. There is an article explaining the myth behind the skx models. Im sorry i dont have the link.
back in the day when strap code made this oyster the CORRECT way now they have the ugly protruding end links look really need to get the uncle Seiko one even tho doesn't have the better feeling screw pins but better overall screw strap code for ruining it
+onLYbyMoon It is still worth the buy... it was a best buy at around 55. 95$ is not bad. its still much better bracelet and worth. And btw I ordered this 2015 December and the price was again in the 50-60$ price range again. 63€ with shipping costs to FINLAND.
Mike,
I love your reviews! I've watched two of them so far regarding the Seiko watches and I made a purchase based on your review. Well done!

I agree the original Seiko jubilee although flimsy and rattles a bit is really light and comfy and looks cool and retro with the watch.
Just put one of these on my newly acquired 007 because of this video. It looks very nice and gives the watch the solid feel kind of like my Steinhart Ocean 1. Hey Christopher, that's great to hear! Glad my video was of assistance. Enjoy the watch and bracelet!
Mike, great video, I've just picked up the same bracelet. It totally transforms my Seiko and looks brilliant. Thanks Jason, Edinburgh Scotland.
Hi Jason, glad to hear you're happy with it! I'm thinking of switching the Oyster over to my SKX007, because I wear it more than the 009. I like the Jubilee, too, but the Oyster is a bit less blingy, and looks more solid.
That's a good idea, would you post a video with the oyster bracelet fitted?
If I do the swap I'll post it.

Nice review, Thanks for the info on where to obtain the bracelet. I just bought my son the SKX009 with the jubilee style bracelet, but would like to give him the option of the oyster style as well so he can change it up a bit.
+Ronnie DJ Nice gift! Thanks for watching...
Got myself a skx007 with sapphire this week. Hope to receive it next week.
+AjaxForever where did you get the sapphire for your watch?
+soylent green www.monsterwatches.nl/
AjaxForever Thanks, AF!
+soylent green If you order a Seiko with sapphire, they will regulate the movement as well!!

@@mike.thomas I have a longines conquest 39mm. Will an oyster bracelet that’s 20mm fit?
@@mikearkous8379 Sorry, I have no idea. Hopefully someone else can weigh in 🤞.
Nice. May need to add the SKX009 to my collection.
Thanks
Mike, if you had to make a decision to only get one of the Super Oyster or Jubilee from Strapcode, which would you get?

Wondering if it fits my Seiko Sea Urchin. Thought of getting the Oyster bracelet.
royleow I'm not sure but I kind-of doubt it. These bracelets fit very closely to the case of the watch, so the fit would have to be exact.
I see. Thanks Mike!

Nice, can you put the really expensive Seiko clasp with ratchet quick extension on it?
***** Late response: if you get a bracelet with a 18mm taper at the clasp then yes, this will work!
I believe the bracelet is branded Miltat.
hello Mike, I would like to resize my skx009's jubilee and I don't know what is the screwdriver type that I have to purchase. Could you please advice me ? thank you for your help.
Not screwed. Its pinned, but looks like screws since its folded metal. Just for anybody that falls over this question.
thanks for your reply, indeed I noticed that it seems a screw but it's pinned :)

55$ on amazon.com. Are these original Seiko? Does it matter if they are 22 or 20mm?
+Lorenz Müller These aren't made by Seiko, they're much higher quality than the OEM Seiko bracelets. And yes, they absolutely have to be 22mm
I like this bracket better then the jubilee
very nice. looks much better than the original rattling jubilee
Does the oyster bracelet fit on the 007?

thx for the review, i just brought mine from strapcode :)
The Oyster bracelet really makes this a substantial piece of kit, the Jubilee bracelet is so flimsy and rattles about
That band is nice enough but, I prefer my Jubilee.
Nice.
Really nice :)))
Your review is based on the old price 55$. Now it's 95$, and not worth the money tbh.
Something tells me your video made them increase their price.
Bummer. I should start trash-talking my Porsche so the prices go down.
It's not like it's your fault. Thanks for the review!
Hehe, I know, but I liked your theory. $95 is definitely a big change in price. $55 was a no-brainer.
+onLYbyMoon It is still worth the buy... it was a best buy at around 55. 95$ is not bad. its still much better bracelet and worth.

DISLA Hehe, that’s a new one.
Nowadays people buy SKX just because they:
1. don't know other budget divers with better specs
2. want to show off since the watch is "popular"
Yuriy Panteleev would you recommand other budgets?
Orient makes some other budget divers. But SKX is fine while you save up for the best dive watch on earth, the Submariner.
“Show off” their 200 dollar watch? Lol
