    Love the Seikos. Was thinking today that a collector could be happy with just Seikos!

      No doubt. Definitely something for everyone from Seiko. I've just added an sbdc063 to my collection, so watch out for a review vid soon. Thanks for watching and commenting

      What size screwdriver would you reccomend for the bracelet?

      Thanks for the comment. I think an oyster really suits the 013. But as you can tell, i like oyster bracelets!

      I don't know the size, but get yourself a set of jewelers screwdrivers from the bay, not too expensive and a great addition to your watch box

    If you look closely at the end links, that bit that hangs over the lug is necessary so as to not create a gap between the link itself and the beginning of the bracelet. They could have trimmed that back, but that would have left a pretty sizable gap between the bracelet and the link. So why not move it all back a bit? Well, there's a spring pin in the way. The problem isn't that the end link hangs over; it's that the lug itself is very short and stubby on the ends. The Jubilee doesn't suffer from this, but I believe it's because the Jubilee links are narrow enough so as to not throw off the design at the lug. I've a handful of Strapcode bracelets and they're all fantastic. I put some faith in their engineering that this wasn't an oversight, but an unfortunate engineering situation that left them with two decisions: either extend the endlink outward to compensate for the otherwise resulting gap (which they've done), or draw the middle of the end link back to the other side of the endpin and add a connecting link in the middle of the bracelet at the top, which would have possibly degraded the structural integrity of the bracelet and made it look cluttered. If you notice in the side by side with the 007, this is exactly what they did with the 007 Bracelet. It would have also looked like the SARB035 link.
    This is just an amateur's view of why this situation exists. With that said, I'm awaiting my SKX013 Oyster as I type this.

      Good point, and I expect you are right. The fact remains that the Strapcode 013 bracelet is well engineered and a beautiful thing. The slight overhang is very minor and didn't bother me day to day.
      Now, the interesting news from Strapcode is that their Alpinist bracelet fits well on the Hamilton 38mm.. which I will be testing and upload my results shortly!!
      Thanks for watching and commenting, it is genuinely appreciated.

    I greatly prefer the older style endlinks. I don't like the way the newer ones protrude. I wish they would go back to the old style

    The overhang is nothing new. I have a padi turtle and the original bracelet has the same over hang! Check the seiko turtles at the store in person. You’ll see it’s like that on all of them.

    I kind of want to buy the strapcode oyster for the Alpinist, but I'm worried it's going to make it too bulky, concerning the endlink protruding and the clasp being pretty thick.

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  5 лет назад

      Coming from leather straps you might find it bulky, but it's not bulky for an oyster. It's pretty close to being perfect. Funny enough, I'm wearing mine today and i love it. Suits the watch perfectly. If you're an Oyster guy like me then definitely pick one up.
      I would add that every time I've sold a watch with a strapcode bracelet, I've got my money back compared to the same watches selling without. So long term you can't really lose.
      Check my Alpinist vid for more of the Oyster

      @@WTMS1 quite reassuring, thanks! I don't really want to spend 160€ on the Seiko OEM bracelet for my Alpinist. I mean I like the one on my SARB035, they look similar but I hear they're actually quite different in build and feel. Tha gap on the clasp doesn't worry me taht much, but it sure is not the best. The protruding endlink on the Strapcode Oyster though, that worries me more...my wrist is pretty small around 6.5", and that would make the lug to lug distance bigger.

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  5 лет назад

      The end link doesn't really protrude on the Alpinist.. it's the 013 where it looks odd. I rate the Strapcodes as better bracelets than seikos mid range bracelets. I say go for it!!

    • @BrakkoJanus
      @BrakkoJanus 5 лет назад

      @@WTMS1 Sorry I didn't explain properly...I mean the center link that's attached to the end link, that basically makes the bracelet start further out.

    Does the skx013 bracelet fit on the sarb017?
    From the look of the protruding end link seems like it they're marketing one for the other?

    • @WTMS1
      @WTMS1  6 лет назад

      You are right, the end links on the bracelets for the skx013 and the sarb017 look identical. I don't know if they are interchangeable, but it's an interesting question, so I will check and post an update. Thanks for watching

      asdfkie quality is pretty good for around $30, has polished sides. But really better off spending the extra money on strapcode.
