I love this card so much I went out & bought an Uber cheap 6x6 pad …waiting for glue to dry on current project then quilt cards for Easter here I come😀🦘🐨🇦🇺…BTW hand patchwork/quilting & Machine patchwork/quilting is like card making with a Cricut & cardmaking with a manual die cutting machine….just different animals in the same creative zoo 😀🦘🐨🇦🇺❤️
You mentioned people leaving because they didn't like the video. I sometimes leave early because I liked it but didn't need to finish it to understand what I needed. I probably will not watch this to the end, but I enjoyed it and left a thumbs up.
Lovely card ! In quilting the log cabin block traditionally represents a log cabin with a fire in the fireplace , so the centre square is red or orange then one side is all lights and the other side is dark because the fire is lighting up one side of the cabin , and yes the strips represent the logs of the walls . But obviously people don't stick with the traditional way and that's what makes it exciting . I love your making quilt blocks .
I was just thinking today of how to do that Log Cabin quilt block, and here I look tonight and you are doing one! I love this block. My friends and I met yesterday and made some quilt cards from your last video. So, I am going to keep going. We made some Valentine cards in a quilt card, and it was cute. Thank you, Maymay. I love it.
Thank you for this idea I got a lot of cardstock for scrapbook like you that you just had and I also quilt so thank you very much for the cute little idea can't wait to make them have a great day God bless. 🙏👍🐈💞
I have made at least 5 log cabin quilts of various sizes and had thought about making paper cards in the same pattern so this was perfect. I've never quilted them. I use embroidery floss and tie them in the middle square. Thanks for sharing this. The paper is really pretty, too.
I am a quilter and I fell in love with your first video of the quilt cards. I have a shipment of embossing plates, ink and stamps so I can make these cards to gift with the quilts I make. 💗💗💗
As soon as I saw the square of the strips I knew that you were making a log cabin. And then when I saw your color choices it made me smile. Those are the same colors that I used for a log cabin quilt for my mother years ago.
I love this card! I just wanted to add an alternative idea for the base. I am one of those who has trouble cutting straight across, so on my four inch base, I scored at 1/4" squares. Now I have my grid. Then I glue the base and put my strips down and I can just bend my grid over and cut the edges off straight. It doesn't take long to create the grid and it made it so much easier. I even did a 1 inch grid on my other quilt base. I don't burnish the score and I just score lightly so my base won't be too flimsy and since I will mount it on a base, you won't see it on the back.
Most of my scrap strips ( I have bunches) are less than half an inch. I will have to have a Skinny strip log cabin. I am sometimes opposite on the paper packs. Sometimes I don't like what they have matched together. That shows how different we all are on how we craft ❤ There are some I like though, so it might be a matter of just liking some packs more than others. I don't know.
I had to watch the replay. My grandmother made lots of log cabin quilts and pillows. Precious memories! I plan on trying to quilt when I retire this year. We have a group of ladies that meet at church on Thursday mornings to hand quilt tops that have been donated. I hope they can teach me soon!
You go May May I’m loving it. I’ve always wanted to learn to quilt so now this getting closer to my dream. I feel so accomplished! Thanks my friend. Keep’em coming!
Log cabin was to be my first quilt cause we built a log home. But I did a double Irish chain quilt. Love you guys!! Always make me laugh. Thanks for all you do.
Maymay, fyi hand quilting means taking the full quilt top, batting and backing; put in a quiltinf frame and hand stitch the quilting. Takes a long long time😊 I am 79 and have only hand stitched one quilt. I send mine to a long armer too 😁
A variation you could do with log cabin is courthouse steps. It’s made with strips but just put together in a different way. There are other variations where the strips are various sizes and shapes which makes it more modern than classic
I have really enjoyed making the quilt cards. I really like this idea of using the scraps. I found a 6x6 paper pack in my old scrapbooking supplies. I never used it because I didn't know what to do with it. Now I do!!
Hi Maymay, I just recently subscribed and this video showed up in my feed. I absolutely love, love, love this and can hardly wait to try It. Thanks so much. 😊🇨🇦
My first Big Shot broke after over 20 years' service. I called my local craft store, they had one left in stock and put my name on it. But my husband had the car. I was working on a project requested by a friend and felt the time pressure. Impatient while I waited for him to come home, I grabbed my rolling pin and tried to die cut without a Big Shot..... I chipped my rolling pin, which was handed down to me by my grandmother. I cried for a minute, then found other things to do until my husband came home. I had my new Big Shot that same afternoon!! After that dilemma, I wouldn't be brave enough to try to emboss with a rolling pin. I think if my new Big Shot (now three years old 🤣) breaks, I'll just go out for a long walk until I can get another! 😁
Abt 10 years ago, I made some templates in Word for some 3x3 and 2.5x2.5 inch quilt blocks. Whenever I want to make a square, I just print off a page and start piecing.
Just put your square card in a regular envelope. No extra postage needed! This works for any shape card! Just keep your dimensions compatible with a standard envelope size and you are good to go!! Love the log cabin design!! Thank you!!
Doing paper quilting will help If you have troubles putting prints together,as I DO in material. I got to start doing this soon. Can do x's on where seams to look like stitching 🤷♀️😁
I found this video, clicked on it, and I recognized the accent and the shirt: Roll Tide! I graduated from the University and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. For the last 25 years I have been living in Northern Virginia.
I caught a glimpse of a quilt square and adapted it to 4x4 card. 4 squares each 1 inch, in corners. Half inch strips of 2 complimentary patterns 4 inches long and 2 xhalf inch of the same patterns.
Thank all of you for sharing this video I’ve been working with paper crafting for a little while but I really want to get more involved because it reminds me of abstract art and my theory to this is; it does not matter what or how it look it’s creation.
ALRIGHTY NOW! You have me so confused. I have a quilt sitting near my sewing machine to sew. Possibly my last one as my sewing interests have waned. Now I have seen the quilt cards video. I make a lot of cards also. I can't get them out of my head! I've even dreamed about the quilt cards. I feel like I'm cheating on both crafts. Do you have a support group to help me to decide? All joking aside I do enjoy your videos. Keep on doing what you love. It has helped me learn so much!💖
I absolutely love this. I must get an embossing folder as soon as possible. Thanks for bringing this back. I had no clue about these type of cards. Edit: Oh & boy scoring to get the quilting effect?! Duh!
I have wanted to make these for a long time so I’m loving these card ideas. So when are y’all going to make some sentiments to go with these quilt cards?
I'm new to quilting and totally love this! I did notice that the first one I made cracked a little after embossing, should I spray water on it before I emboss it or will that ruin it?
Hi some people spritz a lil bit of water and you can also make sure the sandwich for your machine is correct, it could be the type of paper you are using too, thanks
I love the quilt cards! I killed a 6x6 paper pad making card quilt fronts last weekend! One question I have: Do y’all think it looks more like a quilt to have the embossed side up or the debossed side up?
I can’t sew...but I think I could make this quilt 😊 sew cute! See what I did there? You can make a square card and put it in a larger envelope, like a 5x7 and not have to pay extra postage.

I'm enjoying these quilt card videos so much! Your enthusiasm is contagious!

What a wonderful idea!
They will also make great pockets for mini albums and folios
As soon as I saw the square of the strips I knew that you were making a log cabin. And then when I saw your color choices it made me smile. Those are the same colors that I used for a log cabin quilt for my mother years ago.

My first quilt was at a sewing center class and it was a queen size double Irish chain. Was a blast. This was years ago. You'll have great fun.

I love the way you did the log cabin quilt card tonight. It's so pretty. Love your videos.
You go May May I’m loving it. I’ve always wanted to learn to quilt so now this getting closer to my dream. I feel so accomplished! Thanks my friend. Keep’em coming!
❤ I really enjoy the quilt cards …. I’m basically new to both card crafting AND quilting…. I wish making quilts went as fast as this.
Watching on the repeat. Loving all of the quilt ideas.
Log cabin was to be my first quilt cause we built a log home. But I did a double Irish chain quilt. Love you guys!! Always make me laugh. Thanks for all you do.
This is a good use for those strips you cut off the edge of the 12x12 paper (where it has the designer info) if the pattern extends to the edge.
I take 12x12 white and do this. Then die cut words and shapes. But then through my embosser. You should see the results.
Maymay, fyi hand quilting means taking the full quilt top, batting and backing; put in a quiltinf frame and hand stitch the quilting. Takes a long long time😊 I am 79 and have only hand stitched one quilt. I send mine to a long armer too 😁
My grandmother and her friends would hand stitch the blocks too!
I quilt and I've gotta say, I LOVE this! The embossing is fantabulous! I've gotta do this!

Hi Maymay, I just recently subscribed and this video showed up in my feed. I absolutely love, love, love this and can hardly wait to try It. Thanks so much. 😊🇨🇦
I love this. I have made small wall quilts. But this just takes things to a whole different level. So many squares and options. Thanks.
My first Big Shot broke after over 20 years' service. I called my local craft store, they had one left in stock and put my name on it. But my husband had the car. Love this. Log cabin is my favorite quilt pattern. Please do more.
I"m loving the quilt cards
May may , if you damp/ spritz your paper first then roll it with the pin , it works better. But a machine is sooooooo much easier
Abt 10 years ago, I made some templates in Word for some 3x3 and 2.5x2.5 inch quilt blocks. Whenever I want to make a square, I just print off a page and start piecing.
OH MY! The number of 6x6 pads I have is about to be used!!!! Thanks so much for the FUN! video :)
The 6x6 also has small scaled designs and that helps.
The embossing really makes it look like fabric. These are such fun! I'm excited to make some of these!!
Just put your square card in a regular envelope. No extra postage needed! This works for any shape card! Just keep your dimensions compatible with a standard envelope size and you are good to go!! Love the log cabin design!! Thank you!!
Ok I’m hooked! So cute! Thank you.

We have a small card-making group at church. I think we will enjoy trying this. Thank you!
I am LOVING the quilt cards!!! Thank you sooo much! More please!!
Love this idea. I am typically a quilter, so I love this as an extension of my quilting. 💞💞
I found this video, clicked on it, and I recognized the accent and the shirt: Roll Tide! I graduated from the University and grew up in Birmingham, Alabama. For the last 25 years I have been living in Northern Virginia.
I am loving the quilt cards. I want to do them and make them as pockets for a junk journal. Keep them coming if you have anymore ideas.
I caught a glimpse of a quilt square and adapted it to 4x4 card. 4 squares each 1 inch, in corners. Half inch strips of 2 complimentary patterns 4 inches long and 2 xhalf inch of the same patterns.
I love it!! Thank you for sharing!
Quilted Folio😮
Thank all of you for sharing this video I’ve been working with paper crafting for a little while but I really want to get more involved because it reminds me of abstract art and my theory to this is; it does not matter what or how it look it’s creation.
You can make a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 square card and still put it in the usual A2 envelope. The post office doesn't care that the card doesn't fill it. 😀
Yep, I’ve pointed that out too!
I used A2 envelope and glued the inside edge to 'hug' the square card so it stayed on place.
That's a great idea! Did you have to do anything different on the front, or did you just address it before you put the card in the envelope?
ALRIGHTY NOW! You have me so confused. I have a quilt sitting near my sewing machine to sew. Possibly my last one as my sewing interests have waned. Now I have seen the quilt cards video. pretty cool! I'm going to try with my Christmas paper! Thanks for this info.
I love this idea for quilt Christmas cards!
Watching replay but it’s still worth it! Love your quilt cards!!
I love your quilt cards! I was hoping you would make more. Thank you
Another amazing card! Thank you so much ❤
I love the quilt patterns!
I love these cards so much!
I love the color choices and your finished cards are beautiful!!!
Thank you soooo much for doing a log cabin block!!! I am so excited to try this 💖
Love these cards❤️
I thought this was a fabric quilting show. I don’t do paper. Yet! Watching replay. I love it! I could do this 😂❤🎉
That’s not my favorite quilt card but you did a great job on it! I like the odd shaped ones
Oh my. This is going to be a great Christmas card for my quilting buddies. Thank you for sharing.
I would love to see some of your quilts!
Such beautiful cards.
I for one love, love, love this and all the other ones!!
Try if using rolling pin, spritz with water first, maybe?
I love this! Could I do this pattern on 4 X 5.25 in stead of square?
I am late seeing this video but I am loving your quit cards. Keep them coming.
Watching this on replay & I'm Love,Love,Loving it !! Of course I'm a Quilter !!
I love this idea! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Love the quilt cards keep making them
I love this card! It’s beautiful and so easy! Thanks!
you can put a 4x4 card in a bigger envelope...just put a scrap piece of paper in so it doesn't bend, then it won't cost you more
I'm new to quilting and totally love this! I did notice that the first one I made cracked a little after embossing, should I spray water on it before I emboss it or will that ruin it?
Hi some people spritz a lil bit of water and you can also make sure the sandwich for your machine is correct, it could be the type of paper you are using too, thanks
I would also try adding another piece of 65 lb. card stock in the embossing folder. That’s prevented, I think, mine from cracking sometimes.
I’ve just started learning to sew. These cards are so cute.
“Like shoulder pads.” 😂😂😂
Do I remember those! I loved them! And I miss them!
If you start at 1 inch square then each strip is .5 inch longer. Very easy to cut in trimmer
LOVE THE QUILT CARDS!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU MAYMAY
All you need for a log cabin I a set of lights & a set of darks & mediums. You cn you use both prints & solids, lol in one block.
You don't need a gemini. Purchase a small hand turning sizzix. Or simular. Price point around $40 -$60
I love the quilt cards! I killed a 6x6 paper pad making card quilt fronts last weekend! One question I have: Do y’all think it looks more like a quilt to have the embossed side up or the debossed side up?
It's personal preference, I've done it both ways
Wish I knew where to buy the beautiful papers used in this video. Can anyone share a link please?
I like this idea for my scrapbook as well
Question. I thought the paper was supposed to be lightly misted to keep paper from cracking? But don’t see that here… ???
Hi, some people do that , bu we have never had any issues with cracking when using a good quality cardstock, thanks
I can assure you that I will not go to Alabama this winter. I am in PA
Do you think a marble rolling pin would work on an embossing folder, or will I risk messing up my folder?
Hi, I personally would not try it, why take that risk...
I would worry more about my marble rolling pin! I bet that sucker cost more than a five dollar embossing folder! 🤪
I love this! Thank you.
I go onto pinterest and look at quilting patterns for cards actually. It's one of my favorite things to search lol
Probably not the same size, but now you have something you can do with all those branding strips you save out of paper packs and don't get to use.
Tiny quilt cards!
I always love the show , I just wait until the end 😅
I can’t sew...but I think I could make this quilt 😊 sew cute! See what I did there? You can make a square card and put it in a larger envelope, like a 5x7 and not have to pay extra postage.
Just found you and I love this idea.
I am going to love making these! 😍 ty 😊
Love it! I can do this.
I like using my hexie dies and punch to make paper quilts, too.
What if you put a square card in a rectangle envelope?
Hi I always put my square cards in a regular rectangle envelope and it does not cost me any more postage, thanks for watching
I have been a member on Facebook a long time but for some reason I don’t get you posts anymore
Try friending Maymay Made It And So Can I, I think the group is, again!
I am loving this!
FYI: a 4.25” x4.25” card fits nicely into an A2 envelope, thus avoiding the additional “square envelope” postage.
