Loved these videos, and I love this list! I would personally disagree on a few points, but your opinions are really well supported. It’s been a great series!
Welcome to the channel! You have no idea how good you timed this comment, but I’m just about to post an update on my feed. New things are coming soon….finally!
I’m still here, don’t worry - I’ve posted the occasional update on the Community feed to try and keep people updated, but in short; since this last video, I had child no. 2 and a lot of projects at work which have kept me pretty busy! My capture/editing tech also hit end of life which really hit my ability to make anything. However, as of this year, I now have a shiny new MacBook, new Avermedia capture card and I’m starting to get a little more time to work on things. I’m in the process of capturing some footage to go against some scripts I had already written, so expect something from me very soon :)
Dread is easily the top game for me as well, making Samus handle like a parkour free runner made Samus feel silky smooth, and makes the previous 2D games feel sluggish by comparison. It’s really difficult to go back to the older games after Dread. It’s a major improvement in every way.
Super has some serious flaws I just can’t get past. Not having doors on the map and the stupid select button abilities make the game almost unplayable for me. If anyone knows a good mod that “fixes” these things let me know. Edit: I have played the game I’d just like to do it again with a better experience
Dread is the best 2D game. Followed VERY VERY VERY close by Zero Mission and Super. Prime 2 is the best 3D game, followed very closely by Prime 1. I don't consider Other M a Metroid game, and I don't consider it part of the Metroid universe because the "story" contradicts every other game. So Federation Force is probably the "worst" game. Even so, I don't consider Federation Force a terrible game. It's slightly above average in a series that is normally amazing. The problem is, it's not a Metroidvania, it's a spinoff that came out at the WRONG time. If they had released Federation Force along with Samus Returns people would've seen it for what it is: a decent but not amazing spinoff.
Very nice! I’ve played SNES and GBA versions. I also played M on the wii.
Dread looks very appealing to me. I may have to give it a try.
Absolutely give Dread a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
I like your commentary so much
Thank you, I don’t get nice comments about it much, so it’s always appreciated!
Great ranking. I enjoyed all the reviews
Me too!
My top 3, in no particular order, is Super Metroid, Metroid Prime Remastered, and Metroid Dread.

Increíble series of videos, I have really enjoyed the journey
Awesome list and I love the Metroid franchise! My personal top 3 are Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Dread in that order. Cheers!
Metroid blast is the best child hood game ever

*Best 2D:* Metroid Dread
*Hon. Mention 2D:* Metroid Fusion
*Still Great:* Metroid Prime 3, Super Metroid, Samus Returns, Zero Mission
