    Twitch was spying on his conversations in the first place. Along with this "minor" they are saying it was possibly a bait. Doesn't make it any better doc fell for it. A salty ex twitch employee decided to tweet about the dirty laundry even though there was NDAs in place. Before that tweet this employee was trying to monetize it in his own favor for his band saying if people sold out his concert that he would leak why docs banned reason at the show. If Doc sued and won being paid his twitch contract in full, then they mustve not had much to go on. if he did something illegal, or broke contract he wouldn't have won a damn thing. It's a very shady sitatuion all around. There was no criminal charges. The minor was 17. Twitch hid this just as much as doc after the lawsuit. Yes a minor is a minor, but in some states 16 is the age of consent. It's not okay that a person his age is speaking to someone that age, morally wrong hell yes. Illegal all depends on the state looks like it's already been through court. Not 100% the age was known while the conversations were being had. You're suppose to be 18+ to use the whisper feature, but yet you only have to be 13 create a twitch account. It's fucked on either way you look at it. It's wrong on both sides.

      @@obiwankanoki3343 yeah I think that’s because of the NDAs, or it being an on going investigation. Once they broke that agreement then doc said something and he did own up to it atleast. Still gray area with age of consent and finding intent on meeting up. It’s all weird. Even with the trial itself if he did something that bad you’d think twitch would’ve voided his contract and not awarded him his contract money. Thats where it gets me if he did something illegal or whatever with said minor he came out pretty clean, paid.. besides a bad image years later.

    • @obiwankanoki3343
      @obiwankanoki3343 29 дней назад +1

      @@D3VIIL. of course. But My belief is that twitch and him signed that multi year contract. Twitch not so legally spies on docs whispers, terminates him and docs legal team fights for the rest of the money in the contract. Same thing happens in professional sports, once you sign the contract you’re probably guaranteed an x amount of money. They settled outside of court also so this never even went to a court. Obviously Doc didn’t do anything illegal since no charges have ever been brought up but he himself admitting in a tweet that he was inappropriately talking to minors is all we needed to know. The age has also never been confirmed so idk why everyone is still saying “17” as if that’s a fact. Both emails that popped up sort of exonerating doc have been proven fake.
      Think you’re diving deeper than you need to be. Doc sent out the tweet and went full “to catch a predator” vibes. Downplaying the fact that he was talking to kids.

      So… twitch owns their service. People have to agree to their terms to use it… Is it truly illegal for them to monitor communications conducted on a platform they own? If it is, is it still illegal if they systematically flag certain words as high risk and then investigate?
      While I don’t think the minor should be indemnified from some sort of consequence for falsifying their age when using an 18+ service, any protection for the adult from that angle is lost when the adult learns the true age of the minor and does not cease and desist, up to including reporting the minor’s violation of terms of service.

    Very strange that you can make a twitch account at 13 but have to be 18 to whisper with probably very little regulations to make sure minors aren’t whispering. I’m not on docs side tho bc I’m sure if the messages were revealed to us, it’d make all this even worse with the things he probably said.
