    They picked the right hosts. They're kind, patient, and empathetic. So refreshing to see, american presenters have to be so high energy and the shows are so *dramatic* it's emotionally exhausting. This fills my soul with peace. Thanks for sharing.

    I love these shows. My dad made me give my son up for adoption at birth. It was 1969 and I was 16. I hated him for it. I looked for him the rest of my life. Finally the internet came in to play and these agencies that have access to social security can find them. At that time I found him, was 43. Fifteen minutes after I paid them they gave me his name. We're very close now and will be forever. Only a woman who's lost a child through adoption or death can understand the incompleteness that comes with this loss, and that emptiness that is there for the rest of your life. I have that freedom now because I'm finally complete, and forgiven....

      My mother was also forced to give up her baby in 1969. She was 19, unwed, and didn't have a choice. It was definitely a different time. And the lady who said she'd never give up her baby, living under a bridge, you do not want your baby living under a bridge too.

      @GenieGin13 4 года назад +28

      some birth mothers react that way because they are wrapped up in their own guilt and couldn't get away from the shame they felt at not being a good enough mother. but they don't stop bonding with other family members. i'm hoping that this is the case for your friend as the the birth mother allowed the rest of the family to connect with her.
      but on the other hand, there are birth mothers who are unable to accept the child and by extension, reject everything. we've definitely heard stories of mothers replying back "now that you know my name, don't contact me ever again. don't speak to me or anybody in my family. you are not welcome here."

Eventually when we met it was shocking to see this. God bless everyone who has an amazing experience.

    I just *love* this show! When Bronwen was asked "how does that feel [seeing a picture of your son all grown up]?", and she replied, "It feels like love"... that just really got to me. She's right... it shows that he was loved by his adoptive parents, it shows he's happy and healthy, it shows that Bronwyn's incredibly loving sacrifice to give up her baby for adoption, never really knowing the outcome of his life, was all worth it. Wow. (I know they usually only show the happy-families versions of these reunions, but it is just so heartwarming to see the successful adoption stories, and those who when they become adults, do want to establish relationships with their Long Lost Family!)

      @@livingincrete7157 I got the same feeling. A very undemonstrative, business like demeanor. Probably her upbringing that she described combined with the loss of her mother early on. The only time I saw a hint of warmth was towards the two grandsons.

      @@livingincrete7157 I think you are mistaken and misunderstanding. She has a quiet demeanor, but her pain and her devotion showed to me. I think she wanted to be respectful to him. Also, she reminded me of social workers I've worked with. It is a different way you react when you have done a lifetime of work helping others. She reacts like an aid worker who has seen great suffering. These ppl are sensitive too, but it shows up differently and often they learn to control it to care for others.

      That sounds crazy. The woman went out of her way to look for her son. Does she have to be balling for her to prove to you that she cares? I don’t get the comment. She even felt so guilty that she ended up adopting someone to even things out.

    💞 I have just discovered this series & I LOVE IT ! It provides A SERVICE TO HUMANITY & PEACE in a world filled by turmoil.💞 Question : WHY. are the birth fathers not really mentioned much ? As a viewer - I enjoy hearing the WHOLE story of how the adoptees came to be & where the fathers are now too...even if they weren't the ones searching. Where are they now ?

    I love watching these video's and seeing connections made. The hosts of this show are so amazing and caring. This one with the sister's really pulled at my heart strings as I also found my biological family. I found 2 half siblings ! My sister, 4 years younger and I could be identical twins, except she got the curly blonde hair I always wanted and I got the board straight blonde hair that she always wanted !! Sadly I lost her 3 years ago to cancer. It breaks my heart still.

    Lovely indeed much different from my childhood experiences. We would go to the park and was it that I got separated from my family or they just happen to loose me? One day when in Grant Park I was lost and scared. I located an officer and asked if he could help me find my family. Then the truth became more real then ever. His response was I do not know my boy there are so many places they could hide from you.

    I lived apart and separated from my sister through the paternal line. Although she had maintained communication with my father (and therefore with my family) since her adolescence, it was never the same as having my other siblings with me.
    I remember very well the reunion almost 25 years ago that I still carry the emotion within me.

    I’m glad the UK allows for siblings to find siblings. I understand the reasons to keep the parent-child relationship protected with adoptions but if a sibling is looking for a sibling, the adoption and separation between the two would not have been under their control and releasing information should be so private.
