My late wife was a piano major at Ohio University. I think it was 1952 or '53 when she won the Chopin competition. When I hear this, I can see her again, sitting at her piano in our living room, totally absorbed as she played this beautiful Sonata. She loved everything Mozart. She died in 2003 of cancer. I miss her and her music.
I'm 74 years old. Played piano all my life with a focus on accompaniment to congregational singing and all kinds of gospel music. As a result, I was very familiar with the keyboard but never introduced to the classics. Within the last year, a dear friend who knew how I loved music (and loved being as musical as I could be) really encouraged me to begin to understand and get acquainted with the preludes and fugues, Bach's inventions and sinfonias, etc. I'll never look back.....I'm working on only the simple ones, of course, but finding such joy in realizing that I CAN learn to play them - as well as I can learn to play them - always looking for the music in it, and once I catch that - learning how to express it as well as I can. I do a lot of "looking performances up" on line and listening to how the masters play them. I don't make their performance a goal, obviously, but I can make it a learning point, a reference point. I have long been familiar with certain melody lines and certain titles - and am finding a great deal of satisfaction in gaining in understanding and ability to play the pieces - at my level. About 18 months ago, I had a bad fall and injured several fingers on my left hand, impacting mobility. I am finding that the daily piano playing is incredibly therapeutic for that hand. ....and I am still enjoying, very much, the endless progressions and predictable patterns of gospel music. Talking OLD gospel here - stuff published 1942 and before. That's a genre all its own. Music - a fair and glorious gift of God. I will never play for an audience other than God. I hope He's pleased with my progress.

@@channguyen6781 Yeah! The problem in Mozart is finger balance. The left hand on the second part of the exposition has to be at the same time soft and fast and it's so difficult to have balance in the left hand, and this goes on and on in the whole piece! And everything's so exposed in every Mozart's piece, you really need to have intent in every note! The triad Bach, Mozart and Beethoven are true geniuses! This piece isn't easy. It's one of the easier Sonatas from Mozart, but it's definitely not easy. It's only "easy" because it's Sonata in C Major, but it needs you to have very strong techniques, and as it progresses into other keys, there are more black keys, and it becomes "more difficult".

Daniel Barenboim does the best Mozart interpretations I've ever heard. Just soft enough in the right spots but as forceful as I always thought heavy passages should be. @@GourSmith What I wanted to say is that yes, of course I am original, but I go back to the classical principles of melody, tonal and consonant harmony, and development, in contrast to contemporary classical music, which tends largely to avoid satisfying all of them. Daniel Barenboim and Alfred Brendel, two of the most passionate interpreters that will not be with us for much longer. Footage of these guys at the piano is pure gold.
His awesomely excellent performance of this sonata makes the piece an invisible crystal symbolizing the eternally loving harmony of Beauty and Simplicity.
I’m awesomely happy to feel a certain kind of spiritual energy pouring through my ears into my heart on listening to the sounds of the most harmonious melody exquisitely woven of Beauty and Simplicity.
A little ways after 1:53, just as he reaches the statement of the theme in F Major, this quality appears in the sound - this kind of floating, angelic sheen that just mystifies me. Probably Barenboim meant to get exactly that tone (I don't know how he would achieve it), or possibly the recording engineer brought it out in some way, or perhaps the room's acoustics just lined up perfectly for that moment to shine. But it's magic.
The unusual tone is from the extremely beautiful acoustics. You would be shocked if hearing that same section in a small room, as he used absolutely no pedal, which you hear especially in the left hand mezzo-staccato. The floating feeling is from playing molto pianissimo skilfully (slight crescendo each descent) in right hand with no pedal and such energetic acoustics making impression unusually floating.
The sounds of Mozart’s music inspiringly pour awesomely a certain kind of spiritual enrgy with the wonderfully harmonious melody of “ beauty and simplicity ” through my ears into my heart ❤

Adam Gučík If you enjoy it, that’s fine; however it is no masterpiece. Apart from one of the most simple and memorable opening four bars in the whole of music, the rest is pretty predictable and the first two movements in particular are nothing more than an unadventurous journey along very long stretches of barren Alberti bass. It is probably Mozart’s weakest sonata.

It’s so simple yet beautiful. Not a lot of people appreciate classical music anymore, and it’s sad.

@@7James77You don’t need to “dedicate your life to an art” to appreciate and indulge in said art. Nice melodramatic comment, though.

@@federicoaschieri I’m just giving you a hard time. No need to explain yourself. We both love Mozart. I’m just bullshitting over here.
@@GourSmith Don't worry. What you said had perfectly sense: if it didn't, I wouldn't have bothered answering.
Brilliant! Mozart' s music is life- light, love...
The beauty and simplicity in the musical streaming from Mozart’s mentality are through being listened the most harmoniously melted into one to be eternally crystallized in my heart 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
I like the way Mozart describes the piece as being for "beginners"... Tells you everything right there.
Daniel Barenboim and Alfred Brendel, two of the most passionate interpreters that will not be with us for much longer. Footage of these guys at the piano is pure gold.
His awesomely excellent
performance of this sonata makes the piece an invisible crystal symbolizing the eternally loving harmony of Beauty and Simplicity.
Magnífico, brilhante. Toca Mozart com alma e elegância.
Listening to this sonata leads me to feel it awesomely blessing that Mozart’s inspirational level of composition is far beyond that of human beings.
Of course. He was a genious. They are above
Even tho Mozart is dead, his music still carries on. And it will for many more years
It's so super beautiful
Oh hi Mr. Everywhere :)
ok
Oh ur here
It is, my dear friend
Hey I wrote an opera, believe me I did its spanish cause I dont know italian at all
The beauty of this performance is just beyond words ❤
El mejor de los mejores ansioliticos.Muchas gracias.
But it's magic.
i think he probably used the pedal at that moment
The unusual tone is from the extremely beautiful acoustics. You would be shocked if hearing that same section in a small room, as he used absolutely no pedal, which you hear especially in the left hand mezzo-staccato. The floating feeling is from playing molto pianissimo skilfully (slight crescendo each descent) in right hand with no pedal and such energetic acoustics making impression unusually floating.
Yesss. It feels like an angel breathes on your hair.
You mean after 3 minutes… I agree… but I ce already listened to much moving interpretations yet as accurate : try Maria Joao Pires!
The sounds of Mozart’s music inspiringly pour awesomely a certain kind of spiritual enrgy with the wonderfully harmonious melody of “ beauty and simplicity ” through my ears into my heart ❤
This man plays the piano superbly! Wish I had a ticket back in time so I could watch Mozart himself perform!
Well today is your lucky day. You can now go back to 1780s. Here are some crucial detailed do's and don'ts about your travel through time.

Enjoy your trip.
@@Lalinjaman how about I just bring Mozart to the future, still get to see him perform, but without all that other stuff you said? I'll just go to San Dimas to find Bill & Ted!
hello
@@AgneseMartinaFedeli hi!
Remarcable performance friends, let them gifted performers entertain you some more, big loving hug Maestro Barenboim and other hundred years more having fun performing and entertain us fans ❤
Thank you for the beautiful music 🎵 you play. it brings joy to our lives
Barenboim is my favorite pianist. This recording is so beautiful... he really has mastered Mozart. Bravo 👏
All 3 movements... and i love all of them 🩷
He perfectly understand Mozart's aesthetic and mind .
His performance is stellar and inspirational
Even Bach's works were buried for a long time until Mozart discovered them.
The genius Mozart was also the benefactor who made Bach's buried works known to the world.
Mozart was great
Mozart is great
Mozart is invincible and universal
Altho i really dont like those trills 😭 y so hard to play those

Hang in there
It was Mendelssohn who brought Bach back to "fashion".

Thankyou
Ihope you are well
Wonderful. Heavenly music 🙏🏻🎶👏🏻👍🏻🎉
the 2nd movement is so divine! Uchida's live version is also really amazing (softer and slower)
Thank you for this 🙏
yeah also Acheck out AuthenticSound's version of this on the clavichord, its great
blasphemous

It's absolutely gorgeous
This first movement is the greatest masterpiece of all time.
The Rondo is better
Generic Gamer no
Adam Gučík If you enjoy it, that’s fine; however it is no masterpiece.
Apart from one of the most simple and memorable opening four bars in the whole of music, the rest is pretty predictable and the first two movements in particular are nothing more than an unadventurous journey along very long stretches of barren Alberti bass.
It is probably Mozart’s weakest sonata.
Elaine Blackhurst can you please send me some links that proofs it? Thank you very much
Absolutely stunning! I saw a piece of this on another video (about the Beatles) and I had to come to this one.
I'm currently learning this song, and I was feeling very proud until I saw this
he plays the piece so well
A golden chocolate, scattered toys, a curious child prince in a palace, the walking shoes of the early English royals, these are things that come to my imagination whilst listening..!
