I think your slippers are lovely and perfect for keeping your feet toasty while you’re knitting 😻
It’s the podcast I never knew I needed! Love everything you share in your episodes - a fun watch. 🥰
I’m so glad you enjoy it! Thank you for watching!💗
Hands down my favorite knitting podcast! Your content, delivery, story telling and thoughtful teachings are such a bright light. Thank you for providing such a gracious gift to the knitting community.
Hey Kristen. Yep, hurting heart from our children leaving. Had youngest 23yo come home for weekend and still, on his leaving - aching heart. Knitting helps yes. Such an odd thing - all those years spent with those beautiful souls and then they fly away. Some of us more affected than others I see. Loved your podcast book review thanks. Some gorgeous patterns in them alright. 🥰
Oh, our momma aching hearts💗. Thank you for your message and for watching my podcast!😘
Hi Kirsten, I just wanted to add that Emily Foden is actually Canadian and lives in Mooresburg Ontario. She is a knitwear designer and yarn dyer. Her wool company was called Viola, and was widely sought after. The book does have accessories, but also many garments. This book is an ode to Canadian winters, and the experience of rural winter living..❤
Oh dear! I’ll be correcting myself in the next podcast. Thank you for correcting me kindly. And I wish that yarn was still available!! Looks gorgeous. I watched a little video about it.
I am hanging on to my last few skeins of Viola yarn since she stopped dying.
@whereweknit I hope you were able to see her conversion of the General store in Mooresburg that became her store front and studio. There was something special about Emily and her yarn, that pushed me to reach out to you...all the best, Andrea.
@@andrealandsburg I did see it! She is a very talented woman. Please note, in episode 9, I correct my misinformation. I feel it important to honor her work and again, I thank you for bringing it to my attention.
@@whereweknit I will..thank you!
I have the Arctic Knit book, it’s so lovely that even non-knitter enjoy flipping through it when I leave it on my coffee table. Also, I took A Knitter’s Year out of the library and knit my youngest son a little zipper sweater.
Both books lovely choices. Thank you for watching!💛
I hear you about how much knitting helps your emotional, mental, and even physical health. I find my self getting jittery if I haven’t knit in a few days. What a wonderful thing to be able to turn to!
Correct! It’s my little medicine each day! Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much for another heartwarming episode. I’m really enjoying them☺️😀
Thank you Kristen.. Off to order 2 books! Love your pendant, it is stunning!
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy some new knitting inspiration!
Love Irene Lin’s patterns .. knitting the Rota sleeveless top now . Thanks for another great pod cast .
Thank you for continue watching my little corner of the internet.
I love your podcast! I did buy a book and have one on. wish list, for when I can afford it. At 73 yrs, I'm back on a budget. Projects were amazing and so was the cookbook review and recommendations. So, sweet of you... can't wait to see more!!
@@8Gammie Thank you for watching and enjoy that book!
I loved this. I just found your channel, and it's lovely. Thank you for the time. I have an 8 year old boy and he's challenging at times, but I'm sure I'll feel as you do when he's ready for college. All the best, Kimberly
I got such a laugh from your teacher story. I was a teacher of littles for many years and one year I had a little girl who liked to lick too. I couldn’t believe the words, “let’s not lick the floor” came out of my mouth one morning! Yes! Such laughter comes from teacher children! Have a great school year!
Oh yeah, I’ve seen kiddos licking the floor too🤣! Thank you for finding the humor and watching my little corner of the internet.💗
Fabulous episode, I really enjoyed every minute of it! Take care 💓
Thank you!🙏
I totally understand sending your first child off to college. I cried halfway home from Duluth after dropping our daughter off. I live in the Twin Cities area and am looking forward to visiting Dandelion Fiber Company! It looks like a lovely shop and you carry Susie’s yarn!!
Yes, you must visit! It’s such a lovely shop! Oh our momma hearts, 💕 always sending out love to our babies!
I want all of these books for my coffee table. 😍☕️☺️
I know! Me too. Thanks for watching!💗
Just bought the Artic Knits book. Thanks!
Thank you for watching! I think I’m going to invest in that one too!
It's because you teach them to keep their hands to themselves that they don't do it as older students or as adults. I'm retired now, but the thing the first week back always involved for me was burning thighs. I had a classroom at the farthest point from the parking lot, on the lower level of the building. When getting my classroom set up for the year, I had to go up and down 2 flights of 17 steps over and over again! Luckily, you can google pronunciation of names and usually get close to the correct pronunciation. I also agree the it's important to say a child's name correctly, because you're also teaching the other children to say it correctly. I agree that flat bedsheets provide great fabric that is wide and long. Cute overalls!
@@jilliankonig2759 Thank you for your lovely comments. Appreciate your stories of being a teacher. I so understand the amount of walking you did! And thank you so much for watching!
thank you, I just bought the year of knitting. never would have found it otherwise.
Wonderful! It’s on my holiday wish list!
Before you mentioned them I thought to myself that they must be Burnside Bibs! I need another pair. Thank you for the peeks into these books ❤
@@ByrdieCouture Yes, I love these bibs!
I love that yarn shop and I purchased Arctic Knits along with some Ritual Dyes linen/cotton (which has been knitted up into the Pappus Pullover). The customer service is fantastic and my only regret is that this is not my LYS as I live in RI. I am so glad I found your podcast!
@@lycopodiumobscurem Fantastic! Thank you for watching my podcast. I love Arctic Knits and I hope you make something fabulous!
You’re so inspiring ❤ I love your necklace. Can you share where it’s from ?
Hi love your eye glasses!
Aww, love catching up on all these episodes now that I found you! Big hugs (because as you probably know, I have a high school senior so I’m just a year behind you on the college kid thing and I can only imagine how that will feel!) Thanks for a great podcast - I’m enjoying it a lot. (And also wondering … will Dandelion have a retreat of some sort one day? I’d totally drive up for something like that!)
Jen, I just giddy that you’re watching! Thanks so much. It will be some time before Dandelion does a retreat, but please come for a visit. Yes, the store is closed Sunday and Monday on Labor Day weekend, but they are open Saturday!😊
I hope your lovely children have a wonderful school yet!
Arctic knits is a wonderful book if you love low stress top down sweaters I really like the patterns in this book
Thank you for sharing! It’s at the top of my list to purchase or adding it to my Xmas list from Santa.😉. Thanks for watching my podcast.☀️
Hello from the west coast of Finland. This was the first video of yours that I watched and I started watching because I love beautiful knitting books. I think I´ve seen those before but it doesn´t matter. I was interest to see your choices and what you thought about the books. I have usually knitted something from the books that I have bought but as you know there is so much to knit and so little time so I also have a couple of books that I haven´t knitted anything yet. I do have plans though and as I said I love beautiful knitting books so they give inspiration and when the time is right you might start a project from the book that you have.
And this probably isn´t that important and it probably won´t help at all but any way, you pronounce Finnish mostly as it is written.
Thank you from watching, all the way in Finland. I think it is such fun to think of someone so far away watching. I love hearing your comments and hope you continue to knit, buy knitting books, and watch my podcast. 💛
I have a funny story from when my son was a little (4-5). My son’s name is Donovan and I often call him D-man. We were at a 6 Flags amusement park around the Halloween season. As we were walking around we saw lots of people dressed up spookily, and at one point I pointed out a great costume to him by saying, “Hey, look at the demon 😈!!” He started to cry, immediately I thought he might have gotten scared, I knelt down and said “my goodness, what’s wrong? “ He said, Mom, why do you call me that? D-man…demon. Boy did I feel bad.
I love this story so much! Kids are such fun and bring us joy in their funny stories. Thank you for sharing that story!! And thank you for watching my videos!💛
love from nebraska ❤
Thank you for watching!! 💗
I've had to say please stop licking my pants to both a cow and puppy but no children 😂
Ha! I love that story!
Hi there! Another wonderful podcast-thank you! I don't know if you've already mentioned this somewhere but would you please share, if you're okay with it, where you got your glasses? Thanks! 🌸Lindsay
@@laplibrarian6094 The glasses I have worn in the first 8 episodes are from a place in Minneapolis called Look + See. However, you will now see 2 new pair in the upcoming episodes and they are from Huxley Optical in Wayzata, MN.
@@whereweknit Thank you! I need new (stylish) glasses!
Just found you! Enjoyed your podcast. Looking forward to listening to your friends podcast. I wonder if the dandelion shop sells tshirts. ( love the name). Looking to hearing more from you.
Currently no t-shirts but they will come eventually!💛. Thanks for watching!
Your school stories 😂😂😂
I’m so pleased you don’t provide Amazon links! Yes, our LYSs and indie bookstores need our love❤. I am also so glad you emphasize all the work designers put into each pattern. Whenever someone asks whether they can have a copy of something I have knit, if it is free I say “Sure”. But if it’s a paid-for pattern, I explain WHY I can’t do that…that if I provide people with free copies, then I’m depriving the designer of income. Thanks so much for defending copyright!
What is the point of 1/2 superwash and 1/2 non super wash wool?
@@hilarycohen1470 Good question, I’m not certain.
I already received my year of knitting and love the patterns, however I must return it because it is not size inclusive. Some of the patterns only go up to a large, just to let others who might be considering buying it. Most podcasters won’t present a pattern book that isn’t, it was my error in assuming.
@@KarenRothfus Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I have mentioned my error in not including or overviewing books that are size inclusive in episode 9.
Suggestion: in the 1st 8+ minutes, instructions & opinions were given as though we were children. It was totally unecessary for adults and a bit insulting.
@@sgauge4ever Thank you for your comments. If insulting and unnecessary, please choose other podcasts to view. It is not my intention to insult or treat viewers as children.
