Okay, I have to be real here... Skipping episodes is a TERRIBLE idea and I think you came to the wrong conclusion. When I watched the first episode - I wasn't impressed. I assumed it would be another Romcom like Takagi/Nagatoro that follows a very typical, mostly self-contained episode structure where they play their respective gimmick (teasing/bullying) every time, but this time, it would be about a guy who tries to murder his love interest, but fails every time because he is just a dork. The first few episodes were difficult as the result. And this is EXACTLY why the anime works. Dangers in My Hearts doesn't function like the romcoms I mentioned above - there is actual, non-snail pace progression that is enjoyable. The first few episodes MC doesn't even talk to Yamada properly. Their relationship is basically non-existent, it starts in NEGATIVES so that it can rapidly climb to positives unlike other romcoms that are basically a static line with very small jumps from time to time. Now, it's fine to dislike fanservice. You admitted it can work well if the show has something to say about it. But suggesting to skip half of the show because of boobs and fanservice isn't just a disservice to the show, but also will potentially ruin other's experience with it because you are suggesting a jump through their progression line in a way that lessens the impact of EVERYTHING in the show. Just because "it's too in your face with the fanservice" which is also a dumb take, imo, because I am a degenerate who watches every rom com that gets released like it's my blood and Dangers in My Heart is honestly decently pure by comparison and that's not even saying how it has the most right to do that because out of most romcoms I've seen - it's one of the few that acknowledges sexuality as part of romantical interest. You made it sound like it's on the level of "oh no I am accidentally locked in female locker room and see how all girls are changing and she slips on a banana peel and drops on top of me half-naked!" levels of dumb ecchi. I disagree on the chemistry aspect too, but that's subjective. Their misunderstanding are important part of the story, as both of them are socially awkward in different ways. Either way, don't feel like it's some oversexualized anime - it's one of the best romance shows I've watched and I can strongly recommended, because it's unpleasant start serves as a foundation for the peak that will happen faster than any other romcom I've seen.
I read the manga on which this anime is based, there is a clear idea of wanting to focus on how "gorgeous" Yamada is due to the fact her personnality and looks are supposed to feel very in odd with each other. She is a model and the fact she is a beauty is what notably makes Kyoutarou unable to properly handle his romantic feelings, her romantic feelings and that they could work together. It is a typical show about male insecurity and how one person need to better themselves in their self view to be able to grow, the manga is a very good "slow burn" in that sense, it takes a LOT of time for them to grow and get closer like they wish. And it gets pretty real on how "normal" Kyoutarou can be, how some of his reaction are typical of an adolescent (masturbating, etc). My critic of the show would be that there is no real spice to them despite what the premice give, Kyoutarou is actually VERY normal despite what the first chapters try to convey, he is an awkward person whose tastes/personnality make him feel like an outcast and act as one. BUT it is also the strength of their romance, they are both very "normal" people with their quirks but their love is very sincere and wholesome, the way they slowly get closer, realize their own feelings (in the case of kyotarou) and try to become close feel genuine and human. Sure you can give the usual critic "'Why do the 'bombshell' of the girl fell for the outcast" but I think Kyotarou is so "normal" and their way of getting closer and care for each other is so genuine that it makes you forget about that. It is the real premice of the show. A beautiful girl is interested in a socially awkward guy, here is how they slowly get to know each other, get close and possibly succeed in their romantic feeling. It is the show. There is fanservice in the manga but I think in anime, it is always jarring because you can skip one panel in the glimpse of an eye, in a show it is 5/10 second of "in your face" fan service that you can't skip and make the rythm shallow.
I know you don’t do ak content anymore yii but I miss the Amiya skits you did, it would be really cool if you can bring the Amiya sprite with you as a cool cameo to watch the animes you watch alongside with you so you can debate it with her. Don’t get me wrong though I’m still subscribed because the way you handle describing content is very fun and your style is unique

Quite honestly fanservice is the #1 reason I have a hard time recommending or even talking about anime with people who aren't familiar with the medium.
Yeah all your complaints can be answered in the 2nd season(heck S1 gave you plenty of reasons already) but the sex part is never going away at all. So if you're uncomfortable about it I suggest you dropped or even read the manga to quickly skim through cause it's legitimately one of the best romcom manga imo. Also that Yamada slander is🤨but as I said that 2nd and a rewatch can change your mind.

I dropped this anime on episode 2 and now it is one of my recent favourites The show had a really rough start with cringeworthy MC and Yamada being an actual dumbass tbh But it gets actually good after episode 3 imo While I generally share the idea of "sex = bad" I was surprisingly fine with it. I felt like it was executed fine: no absurdly stupid situations, no stupidly promiscuous behaviour from either side. He's just interested and it makes sense. I don't like it too much, but I don't hate it either. The chemistry part I actually feel different about, I think it's great. I don't think that "they" often misunderstand each other, more like Ichikawa constantly misunderstands/ doesn't read Yamada's cues due to hi social inaptitude (which, again, makes sense, he is trying to ignore it in fear of being hurt). Yamada, on the other hand, is perfectly aware of her feelings and actually acts accordingly Honestly, I feel like it's one of the most normal (as in "not absurd or gimmicky") romcoms out there, it actually feels kind of refreshing to see characters act in a way I actually can understand

For the fanservice, there's rarely fanservice in this anime , you can compare it to dress up darling,100 gf,tqq or other romcom. I think people like to judge something too early without try to understand it first, really this anime is the one that saved the romance genre for me, it's make me feel like I'm watching romance anime for the first time, truly one of the best romance in the last decade
