This game was so good, incredibly unique environment, story and gameplay that was just a blast. Plus you can just replay it over and over and not get tired. It holds a place as one of my favorite games of all time.
i agree really cool game :) ( i discovered it with a video of nearfcubed, i think it was something like 13 way to die in dishonored) and that song , give shiver. i love the second game too^^
DISHONORED IS SUCH A GOOD GAME, the replayability is insane. The Outsider is more of an unwilling deity rather than the devil, he is truly arbitrary...you choose the lethal path or non lethal.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames It's implied that he's sort of hoping that someone gifted with power will remain decent, but he's full on bored deity now. In game, The Outsider reacts to Corvo's methods, if lightly, and if Corvo is going full on Murderhobo he does seem a bit disgusted with him
One of the best immersive sims ever made. Absolutely fantastic level design and player freedom. The “Black eyed bastard” that Daud mentions in one trailer is a character called the Outsider, an eldritch god who empowers people with his mark based on his own whims. Daud is one of the antagonists in the base game, an infamous assassin and mercenary leader hired by the villain to kill the Empress. He was one of the Outsider’s interests before Corvo, the main character, and also carries his mark, which grants him access to a wide range of supernatural abilities. In the dlc you play as Daud and go through a parallel story where you can possibly redeem him and repair some of the damage he did. In a way the outsider is setting Corvo and Daud against each other for his own amusement, empowering Corvo to hunt him down and possibly kill him, depending on choices you make as both characters. Choice is a big deal in the games, both in gameplay style and narrative moments, and has large effects on story and character outcomes, as well as level layouts and objectives.
Dishonored is in my top 3 favorite games of all time (The other 2 being The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2). I played the shit out of this game and find myself replaying it every other year or so. Great game I never get tired of playing. The sequel, while not as good as the first game, isn't half bad either. Regarding the gameplay, there are two ways to play. You can go non-lethal, knocking out hostile NPCs and only killing main targets (Or alternatively not killing them at all as there are ways to eliminate them where they keep their lives) Oooor... you can do as is shown in the trailers, and stab, slice, and butcher your way throughout Dunwall. The way you play leads to a different ending outcome, but the violent path results in the bleaker ending.
@@heroicryan6257 It's not an opinion, I'm talking on an objective level. The first game only allowed you to knock people out by stockpiling sleep darts or choking everyone out. The sequel has slide takedowns, aerial knockouts, KOs from bottles thrown at heads, more nonlethal weapons than the DLC in 1, etc. Add to that more powers, biome variety, and more complex and frequent puzzles, the only thing you can say the first is better about is story.
Dishonored is one of my favorite stealth type games and the sequels were really good too. My only complaint is that the games are kind of short, but hey that’s what multiple endings are for right.
Not all games need to be long sagas like rdr2 or Witcher 3. We like that some we can play in a shorter amount of time and yes, makes multiple endings and play styles better 😀
I love this game, some many ways to complete each mission. The city evolves with how high or low your chaos is when you complete missions. You can complete the whole game without killing anyone, you chose to kill your target or find another way to get them out of the picture ie by making a deal to send them to the mines for the rest of their lives. So good.
Dishonored 2 is my all-time favorite game and the whole series is a masterpiece! I was sold on the game when I found out it was possible to beat the entire game without killing or being seen by anyone! Playing violently or peacefully actually impacts the story and changes the levels. It's awesome! Despite having ace reviews and a super loyal fanbase (me lol) I've always found the series is overlooked by a lot of people Please check out the Dishonored 2 trailers too!
Dude, a lot of the non lethal ways of eliminating your targets are so much worse than just killing them would be. Fates worse than death. Like the lady you can turn over to her stalker.
@@Slapapow It's been so long since I've played the games I don't even remember that from 2. (Also, yes you are. Unless you're not human. 🤔 It's gender neutral.)
Dishonored is probably one of my favorite series. Combining steampunk with London and giving you superpowers and told to go have fun it’s great. You see a lot of killing in the trailers but you can actually play these games entirely “non-lethal” but the endings for these guys are sometimes worse than death like cutting off two brothers tongues and forcing them to work forever in their own slave mines or in 2 putting a genius inventor into his own electric chair and shocking him till he becomes braindead. Technically not dead but also pretty close. Like Batman. Also a 9:15 that’s actually Dan Bull singing in his Dishonored Rap and I had no idea they used his audio for it which is awesome since you wouldn’t expect a RUclipsr to be recognized by the devs like that
Glad to see you react to this, the Dishonored games are really good. One of the neatest things about them is you can go through all of the games without killing anyone or even being seen. This includes the major targets; each of them can be eliminated non-lethally, and some of the solutions for doing so are pretty twisted. One target can be handed over to a creepy stalker, never to be seen again, another can be branded as a heretic and cast out of society, there's one from the second game who can be lobotomized with his own electric chair... There are lots of options for how to play and approach each mission, and as a result, lots of opportunities for player expression.
The world the first game builds, with the city of Dunwall, is amazing. Steampunk and magic intermixed is always intriguing. And yeah, in the base game you play as Corvo Attano, the Lord Protector (bodyguard of the Empress), framed for the Empress's assassination out to get the real people responsible. There's various plot twists I won't go into in case you guys play (and you really should, the game is amazing). In the story DLCs you play as Daud, the assassin who was hired to kill the Empress, and get more of his story and his side of things. Plus the last DLC sets up the events of the sequel.
Dishonored is awesome, i remember that first cinematic like it was yesterday. And the speedruns are also a joy to watch because you can launch yourself throughout the whole place with the Blink ability, just like in Half-Life.
Dishonored is a massively under-appreciated series. The creativity in how you can approach objectives, the world building, visual design, the abilities. That's before mentioning the unbelievable level design. Love it.
Oh hells yeah, been waiting for this one, freaking love this series. Allow me to break down some of the setting and story ideas: First and foremost, yes, the last two trailers were for 2 DLC chapters where you play as Daud, the assassin who actually killed the Empress. Dishonored takes place in world divided between a relatively small archipelago collectively known as the Empire of the Isles, and a vast supercontinent known as Pandyssia. Pandyssia is very sparsely explored and settled, with most of the inland regions being largely unmapped and unknown. Pandyssia is also home to a ton of super deadly monsters, creatures and diseases. An expedition to Pandyssia that ends with only 4 5ths of the crew losing their lives or sanity is considered a success. The Empire of the Isles, meanwhile, is settled and "civilized". Culturally, they're somewhere between the Renaissance and Industrial Revolution, but technology took a huge leap forward into steam punk territory once certain properties of refined whale oil were discovered. Dishonored whales barely resemble ours. For one thing, they have tentacles around their mouths. For another, they have glowing runic markings on their bodies. Finally, they have a connection to the Void. The Void is a mystical and mysterious dimension said to be what the world was formed from, and where it is being slowly sucked back into. In other words, the Void is both the beginning and the end. Only one being calls the Void home(or maybe is the Void personified. That being is the Outsider. The Outsider is not the Devil, he doesn't make deals per se, he doesn't collect souls. People directly worshipping him (it?) bores him. Rather, he keeps an eye on what is happening in the world, and "gifts" people he finds interesting with his mark, which grants magical abilities such as teleportation, telekinesis, slowing or outright stopping time, the ability to possess people and animals, etc. There is only one organized religion(besides worshipping the Outsider, which, again, he dislikes), the Abbey of the Everyman, whose priests are called Overseers. The Abbey doesn't worship a god of any kind, as there doesn't seem to be one. Rather, their whole purpose is about suppressing magic and fighting against the Outsider. He's unimpressed by the Abbey and considers them a cult. At the start of the 1st game, Dunwall, capital of both the island of Gristol and the Empire as a whole, is suffering from a plauge spread by rats originating from Pandyssia. Said rats are vicious little buggers who move in large swarms and attack even living people on sight. They can strip corpses down to nothing in a matter of seconds. The plauge has several phases, the last and worst before death is causing people to become "weepers", basically living zombies with no logic or reason, blood dripping from their eyes, and swarms of flies around them. Main character Corvo Attano is the Royal Protector, the personal bodyguard to the Empress Jessamine and her daughter Emily, who is roughly 10 or so. Corvo is returning from a tour of the other islands trying to get help for the Rat Plauge. Not long after arrival, Daud and his men appear, kill Jessamine and kidnap Emily. Corvo is framed for the act and is thrown in prison. The real master mind of the assassination, spymaster Hiram Burrows, steps in as Lord Regent and starts cracking down on the populace with increasingly strict and brutal curfew and quarantine laws. The story really starts 6 months later with Corvo escaping prison and joining the Resistance movement against the Lord Regent. Anyways, really happy you did this. Cheers!
The outsider is a lot cooler not being the devil and just being someone that likes to tinker with the world and see what happens as a result 😀 Thanks so much for the breakdown of the game and world! This definitely seems to be a game you enjoyed 😁🥳 We will have to investigate more 🤓
The great thing about Dishonored is that you can go through the full game without killing anyone and it will actually affect the ending and the game world
I remember getting this game for free on xbox 360 and being absolutely dumbfounded by how awesome it was. Definitely one of the better stealth games out there.
Actually Daud (the assassin) didn't kill the empress daughter, he said in the trailer he delivered her. When you play with him, its some time before the events you play with the first character. After he was framed, but before the main events of the game.
One of my favorite games of all time, it's hard to get all the story when they're moving so fast but the jist of it is the second guy is dlc and he's the one the killed the empress in the original story and your character was planned to take the fall. So the outsider gives you the similar powers to that of the assassin and you can redeem yourself by killing everyone or sparing people
Susan Sarandon as the Voice of Granny Rags is absolutely Brilliant and such a Creepy Performance! Carrie Fisher did some Voice work on this game too. The Dishonored Franchises is pretty much one of my All time Favorites! The World building and the choose your own adventure type mechanics involved just make it a Gem in the Gaming Industry!
As everyone's saying here...Dishonored really is a special kinda game. Lethal and non-lethal options for all the bosses...stealth and combat refined to a sharp edge...and a really nice narrative mixed into some A++ world design.
So the “devil” that gave corvo his powers is called “the outsider” He isn’t good or evil, he just does whatever he feels like to entertain himself. That’s why he helped corvo, but he’s also helped some of your enemies you fight.
Dishonored 1 and 2 are essentially lightning in a bottle; many of the art and concept designers of Half Life 2 worked on this game for very long time, and it's an amazing sandbox of mini stories and mechanics just like HL2. As for the "entity" hoo boy, that's definitely the question of the hour, imagine Judge Dredd and C'Thulhu had a baby. An angry baby. and speaking of angry god babies, StealthBR literally took this game apart and put it back together again, after you've played definitely check his series seeing the sandbox being put to the ultimate test.
So, the guy you guys saw with the assassin's Creed hidden blade thingy, his name's Daud, he's the man that killed the empress, Corvo, the game's protagonist that appeared in the first two trailers wants to get revenge on both Daud and the man who hired him, the lord regent. That man that appears talking to Corvo and Daud is called the outsider and he gives power to people he finds interesting, Daud was given these powers first, Wich he used to become the leader of an assassin group in the city, Corvo was given powers by the outsider after he was framed and arrested for the murder of empress.
I am still waiting for a third one. I just love the concept of how you can play through the entire game without ever actually killing anyone, including your main targets. There is always a convenient way to dispose of them otherwise like branding them as a heretic and having them discharged or exposing them as a traitor to the entire city and having them run off.
Best games of all time / Far cry 3, Far cry primal, Hitman absolution, Assassin creed origin, Dishonored ❤, Red dead redemption 2, Days gone 👍 There is nothing better.
This game was great for its time. The ending greatly depended on how many people you killed throughout the entirety of it, the more kills you've got, the worse the ending was.
Amazing game, would say one of my all time favourites. Dishonored 2 was also great. Very steampunk vibe, love the story, the DLCs, all the "powers" you get as a character, you can also play it as full on killing spree, or attempt to finish the game without killing anyone (I have done both). Using stealth, your choice of powers and weapons, making choices to kill or get rid off in other ways those who wronged you, makes it such an amazing story and a great game to play! You also get tons of other things to do while playing each level, such as looking out for "treasures" etc. Honestly, you could play it for ages, especially if you wanted to experience different outcomes.
Welcome to Dunwall! In Dishonored, you are Corvo Attano, the bodyguard of Empress Jessamine Caldwin. The entity you see, the black-eyed man? He is called The Outsider, and nobody serves him, though there are cults worshipping him (this is illegal by the way and considered heresy, punishable by death). He gifts his Mark to those he find interesting and the choices they make is what he enjoys observing. Every person bearing the Outsiders mark has their own unique powers, shaped by their wants, desires and needs of the moment. You might have noticed the trailers features two people with powers. Corvo, the bodyguard-turned-assassin out for revenge, and Daud, the Knife of Dunwall, who killed the Empress. Corvo is the central figure of the main story, while Daud got his own 2-parter DLC story set in the intervening 6 months between when Corvo was arrested for the Empress' death and when he breaks out of prison to begin his quest for vengeance. Delilah the witch which Daud mentions being in a duel with is another bearer of the Mark of the Outsider. This Mark allows them to use magic, and is the only real way to use magic in the world of Dishonored. What's awesome about Dishonored is the freedom of choice. Sure the game has a storyline that's practically set in stone. You go through objectives A, B, C, D etc, in that order, BUT! You can choose what you want to do to achieve said objectives. As an example, you can choose to go on a murder spree and kill everyone that crosses you. OR you can be more stealthy about it, sneak past most threats and eliminate only key targets. You can even go full pacifist and not kill a single person, even the main targets aka bosses. Whichever path you go, this changes the future of the game. If you kill a lot of people, the city's chaos rating rises up and you'll find more rat swarms and infected people throughout the city, while if you're more pacifist, there will be more city guards patrolling the streets. Both methods bring their own risks and benefits and the ending changes depending on how much chaos you sow during your quest for revenge. There's so many ways and options. The time stop you see is just one of many things you can do, but its an expensive mid-game power you have to save up for if you want it. To begin with you only have the primary ability "blink", a short-range teleport which can be upgraded for longer range. For comparison and explanation of differences; Daud's version of Blink is a time-stop teleport that has shorter reach that Corvos Blink, but it slows down time and when upgraded stops it while you can turn around mid-air and aim it, while the main character of Dishonored 2 has "Far Reach" which is basically a tendril of shadow that grips a location and pulls you to it really fast. It's not a teleport, so you CAN get spotted, but it has much longer range than the Blink abilities.
That’s actually an interesting commentary on life in general. So many things we can’t control in life just like you can’t control the story in the game. But we can control how we act and respond and the choices we make. And choices have consequences 🙂😇🤔🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Exactly! I love that thought process and its so true. All choices we make have consequences we have to live with as we go forward, so its important that we're sure of the choices we make ^_^
Both Dishonored games are masterclass in level-design, player freedom and world building. you can also play the whole game without killing a single person
I'm so glad you reacted to my favorite game of all time, Dishonored is the most slept on game Also do you have a gaming channel if so I would love for you to play all sorts of games plus dishonored
We’ve been playing some games on this channel. We have a few playlists with our livestream gaming but we will also be doing some Let’s Plays later in the year as well 🙂
You guys should see if there's a video out there that does the in-game cinematics as well so you can understand the story before going to Dishonored 2. These games are hands down my favorite series. Can replay over and over.
Ik stealth ain’t really your guys thing to do but I highly recommend this to play if you want to, you can actually go full aggressive instead of going stealth all the time but the game highly recommends you to do stealth
Dishonored was a great game and I loved The Knife of Dunwall which is the first DLC. I recommend either playing them or watching the story unfold cause it's really quite something
I love this The Outsider guy. He's not good, not bad. Not even neutral. He's just bored. So he gives his mark to interesting people and watch outcome. As for the gameplay itself, I love the freedom this game offers. Not only freedom in the way of mu'rder. On yt there are whole compilations of how amazing it is to have fun there. It's like a mur'der-sandbox. But ... there are several targets to kill in the game. But if you k'ill them ... people will know you as a bloo'd avenger. With each successive target kil'led, the country will fall into disrepair. Until you finally unlock the bad ending. However, the alternative ... is not saving targets. But to make them a much worse hell. A simple example. You are to elim'inate the two brothers who sponsored the coup. But instead of just ki'lling them (or in a very fancy way) ... you can get along with a certain mafia. Their leader will shave the brothers bald, cut their tongues out. And he will send them to work in THEIR mines. This blade thing on arm is a crosbow.
The Dishonored franchise is so gd brilliant. While I like the second game more, the first game has one of the best end credit songs in any video game I've ever seen and just such an amazing story. The gameplay is excellent (the second game is better in that regard, and Emily is an amazing character even more than Corvo) but the MYTHOLOGY and worldbuilding is just inspired and amazing, and is what really drew me in. The TT RPG by Modiphius is also solid. Just a quick (attempting little to no spoiler) summary: --the world is definitely Steampunk, with a lot of dark aspects. The Outsider is a weird, Loki-ish god who is more interested in interesting people than being worshipped, and seeing what they do with the Mark/Magic (and all Magic comes from him). You learn more about him as the games go on, and the main religion is devoted to rooting out people with knowledge of him or access to his magic (as well as controlling the populace). The tech is powered by 'whale oil' but as you see those whales in the Outsider's realm, its basically Magi-tech, and that's really cool as games go on. --Because the concept is "the Outsider curious what kind of person you are and what you will do with power" the game evolves based on your actions. If you go full stealth and don't kill folks, you get a brighter, happier, more positive world and ending. But if you do things that cause chaos (killing, being seen, certain plot points, etc) you get darker and darker endings. You can generally avoid the darkest ending and get a middle one by doing some good stuff along the way even if you do murder folk. --In the first game you're playing a 'grew up from nothing" soldier-turned-Royal-Bodyguard names Corvo. The Empress (your charge and maybe more) is killed and her daughter kidnapped. The Outsider (as you saw) gives you magic, and waits to see what happens. --As you guessed, the DLC for the first game is you playing the assassin of the Empress, whose name is Daud. He's a fascinating character, and it basically all takes place before your encounter with him as Corvo. --In the second game you choose to play Corvo again or Emily (the daughter-now-Empress), who has a different suite of powers. Multiple playthroughs lets you pick and mix their power sets, but the story is directly related to the antagonist of the Daud DLC (the Brigmore witches) --In the third game, which should have been a DLC of the second in my opinion), you play a new character (that you meet earlier) as she explores the history of the Outsider. The TT RPG, which adds some details to the world, assumes its before the first game on the whole, but you can play it at any point really. It's not as robust a game system from that company as say Star Trek Adventures or the new Dune Imperium game, but is still really neat.
So they do not tell you in the trailers but your character is the Empress's Protector and the one pñerson she can trust. One of the nice part about the game is that you can be an out right killer or find justice in other ways and you can be stealth or have a great big fight with lots of dealths. So Stay Safe and have a great day
You both are still reminders of two awesome bosses from bloodborne: Ken - Father Gascoigne and Bethany - Lady Maria. So, Father 'G' and Lady 'M', hope you check it out and glad you enjoyed DISHONORED.
I absolutely love Dishonored! Definitely my favourite stealth game because the story is so good and I love just how important Emily is to Corvo and you genuinely feel anger and the emotion anybody would feel if someone killed the woman you love and kidnapped your daughter. I’ve done this game full stealth, without being spotted, without killing anybody and even high chaos where you kill loads it’s an amazing game. I would absolutely love a third game soon!
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Some of the powers you get really help and sleep darts on a non lethal play through are a god send haha but you really need to know where enemies are and be very patient but it’s a game that I highly recommend
I cant help but always want to listen to Dan Bulls rap of dishonored after i see a bit of it, he just has a way of writing with the same emotions as the ones hes rapping of or as! If your interested in reacting to it, its one of the songs already playing in one of the trailers
Dishonored, another awesome (must play) series! Nice stealth gameplay, nice story, awesome atmosphere. Do you play honorable or dishonorable is the question though ;) Also, not that long games either. About 10-12 hours for the main story in the first and 30-40 hrs for completionists. The second is also about 12 hours main story, 40-50 hrs for completionists, but you can spend 100 hrs in this one xD
i love this game and i played it so many times there was a point in time where i was addicted to this game my dad played this game and he loved it and loved the video guys keep up the good work
Dishonored, my favorite game ever!! So glad for this reaction! I highly suggest you watch The Tales From Dunwall videos next as they cover a bit of lore 💜 And yes, Daud is the assassin who killed the empress and Corvo was framed for it. Which only happened because Corvo came back sooner from a trip. Originally, Daud was supposed to kill the empress and that was all, end of the story. Bad timing on Corvo's part, I guess 😅 Also, the "blade" on Daud's wrist is actually a crossbow!
The little girl Emily with white clothing is voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz. I was surprised by it when I finished the game when I was looking at the credits.
The way it works is that if you kill more than 20% of the humans per mission (animals don't count), you'll end up on the Middle Chaos path. Kill more than 50% per mission and you are on the path to High Chaos. However, these percentages aren't written in stone; there are other actions you can take that will increase or decrease chaos. For example, in one mission, there is a woman in an abandoned factory surrounded by rats. If you save her, it decreases chaos. There are obvious changes in the mission depending on the level of chaos. In general, the higher the chaos is, you will have more guards, more rats, more weepers (plague victims), etc., and minor differences in the environment (for example, in the final mission on Kingsparrow Island, if you are in High Chaos, there will be a large storm on the island.) It is entirely possible to play the entire game without being detected once and without killing anyone.
The game has a actual time line that was written I think. But that is where you make your story and what happens. As for the DLC it runs in line with the game as events fall into place. The second game will be great to see your reactions to.
Dishonored is such a good game. It's one of those games where all the elements of the game is great be it the character, story, gameplay, lore, the world... Everything about it is just 10. Sad it isn't very popular.
One of the things I like about the series is that u can do a mission in so many ways u can go around with out killing or being seen or go mayhem mode there is so many power combinations also thre is a chanal stealthgamerbr he is probably the best dishonored player out there the stuff he pulls of is like watching a super hero movie its insane
Dishonored 1 seem to be a combination of Assassin’s Creed meet Arcane with you playing as Corvo Attano, a royal guard to the Empress and her daughter. Soon during time of protecting her, she and him get jumped by “Assassins” but they kept the daughter alive. Only Corvo saw what happen and got accused for the death. This game is very key on Stealth or you can on blood lust. When I play it, I went both ways in the game. Also in the main game, if you keep killing with witnesses, there is a special “Art” at the end, but you can be pacified with no killing and witness. Each way you go, have 3 or more endings. The DLC in the game take you in journey life as Daud, his story take place after killing empress and before Corvo coming to take care of him. It’s a fun experience game our there and you two can try out with the Remastered version for PS5 with all content from the game. Till playing Dishonored 2, is a sequel and worth checking out 😌 Also a little history of your time, if you get Dishonored Game of The Year edition from GameStop for the old version for Xbox or PS3, you get Corvo’s Ski Mask with your purchase.
As somone who always sneak around in games i loved this game so much and finished it without killing anyone.. well finishd it without killing most of them 😂💚
The funny thing about Dishonored, even if you kill nobody, you're not a good guy. Just a pissed off dad. You only have to go after your targets but that includes branding them, giving them to criminals, including a rapist, and other fates worse than death. Corvo is out for revenge, and he's gonna get it.
1:30 Love dishonored for this "Divine Intervention" Character, also it reminds me of Shadow of War Celebrimbor and A Manga I read called Pandra a little bit. 3:02 Assassins Creed but magic and dark england fantasy hahaha 😂👌
my favorite stealth title of all time! played and cheevo-hunted this game a long time ago! great game! then when I played it again when COVID came along, it felt pretty... on point... haha
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames no joke, we had a truck rolling around the neighborhood with a loudspeaker announcing curfew in my native language while there's a loudspeaker in game sort of saying the same thing, propaganda tagline and all... that was quite an experience
As a game designer AND as a gamer, Dishonored and both of its DLC Expansions (The Knife Of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches) constitute my favorite game of all time. And really I BARELY separate Dishonored 2 from that, ONLY because it's technically a separate game. In reality, Dishonored and Dishonored 2 are all one continuous huge insane story PERFECTLY woven together an bridged by the The Knife Of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches DLCs. Unlike a lot of DLCs that are kind of optional, these DLCs are the glue that binds the 1st game and 2nd game together into one complete story. They're the middle chapters of a single novel.
this is a good game.. i still played it even now.. totally recommend playing the game. as you mentioned, the level design of the game is beautiful. the lore that comes with it create a world that just fit perfectly.. oh and despite having trailer filled with bloody kills, you can play it with zero kill... it doesn't just effect the ending. any path you take will change how the next level become.. and, for the dishonored 2, you can even play without power. ps: you guys still haven't react to quantic dream kara short animation have you?
No we have seen the Kara short yet. Just checked out some Detroit Become Human trailers so far. Heard they are kind of of related. It’s interesting they show the game as being really bloody when in actuality we heard the game discourages violent path 🤔😇
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames the game gives you the kill everyone on sight path but encourage you to take in all information available so that you can be creative with your play style which in my experience most of the time leads to a no kill path. It even let you be creative in how you kill the mob too (like attaching an explosive mine to a rat that are running toward them) The second dishonored introduced, imho, one of the best level design involving a time travel system in a game.. You got to watch kara short. And react to it too. In the other channel perhaps. If i’m not mistaken, it was originally just a short tech demo to show the capability of ps at that time..

Choice is a big deal in the games, both in gameplay style and narrative moments, and has large effects on story and character outcomes, as well as level layouts and objectives.
We dug the vibe of this. Might not end up playing because we suck at stealth 😂 but we do want to check our more from the game 🙂
You can go non-lethal, knocking out hostile NPCs and only killing main targets (Or alternatively not killing them at all as there are ways to eliminate them where they keep their lives)
Oooor... you can do as is shown in the trailers, and stab, slice, and butcher your way throughout Dunwall.
The way you play leads to a different ending outcome, but the violent path results in the bleaker ending.
Pretty true to life with violence leading to a bleaker end.
Excuse me? Better than the second game? Story-wise, maybe, but locations, gameplay, and graphics? Absolutely not.
@@greasey8695 To each their own. Everyone's entitled to their opinions. I liked certain elements from the 1st game better than the 2nd. /shrug
@@heroicryan6257
It's not an opinion, I'm talking on an objective level.
@@greasey8695 I like the first game better. That's all there is to it. I'm entitled to that, just as you are liking the second better.
The Outsider is such a good character, i could listen to the VA all day long.
So good.
It’s cool that it gives you multiple options to complete missions. Maybe it’ll force us to get better at stealth 😂🤗
Dishonored 2 is my all-time favorite game and the whole series is a masterpiece! I was sold on the game when I found out it was possible to beat the entire game without killing or being seen by anyone! Playing violently or peacefully actually impacts the story and changes the levels. It's awesome! Despite having ace reviews and a super loyal fanbase (me lol) I've always found the series is overlooked by a lot of people
Please check out the Dishonored 2 trailers too!
Dude, a lot of the non lethal ways of eliminating your targets are so much worse than just killing them would be. Fates worse than death. Like the lady you can turn over to her stalker.
@@xyex The second game actually confirms her fate and she ends up on top of that situation, her kidnaper does not...
(Also, not a dude.)
@@Slapapow It's been so long since I've played the games I don't even remember that from 2.
(Also, yes you are. Unless you're not human. 🤔 It's gender neutral.)
We will for sure check out the dishonored 2 trailers, some stealth gameplay and tales from Dunwall in the future 😊
Also a 9:15 that’s actually Dan Bull singing in his Dishonored Rap and I had no idea they used his audio for it which is awesome since you wouldn’t expect a RUclipsr to be recognized by the devs like that
Like Batman. Nice comp there 😁
Id never seen that trailer, nice to see Dan Bull getting recognized by the actual devs
@@zeallust8542 They used it in the Trials of Dunwall trailer. I didn't know who Dan Bull was until I saw that trailer. Good times.
It's the best because revenge doesn't require murder.
😏
Glad to see you react to this, the Dishonored games are really good. One of the neatest things about them is you can go through all of the games without killing anyone or even being seen. This includes the major targets; each of them can be eliminated non-lethally, and some of the solutions for doing so are pretty twisted. One target can be handed over to a creepy stalker, never to be seen again, another can be branded as a heretic and cast out of society, there's one from the second game who can be lobotomized with his own electric chair... There are lots of options for how to play and approach each mission, and as a result, lots of opportunities for player expression.
It’s cool having different ways to dispose of your enemies 😀
Oh this is one of my favorite games ever. Dishonored 2 is my absolute favorite, I wish it had been a longer game because I loved all of its mechanics
You should play Death of the Outsider, if you haven't already.
😎🤟🥳
The world the first game builds, with the city of Dunwall, is amazing. Steampunk and magic intermixed is always intriguing.
And yeah, in the base game you play as Corvo Attano, the Lord Protector (bodyguard of the Empress), framed for the Empress's assassination out to get the real people responsible. There's various plot twists I won't go into in case you guys play (and you really should, the game is amazing). In the story DLCs you play as Daud, the assassin who was hired to kill the Empress, and get more of his story and his side of things. Plus the last DLC sets up the events of the sequel.
😎👍😀
Dishonored is awesome, i remember that first cinematic like it was yesterday. And the speedruns are also a joy to watch because you can launch yourself throughout the whole place with the Blink ability, just like in Half-Life.
😎👍🙂
Dishonored is a massively under-appreciated series. The creativity in how you can approach objectives, the world building, visual design, the abilities. That's before mentioning the unbelievable level design. Love it.
☺️😎🤟
The world of dishonoured is very cool and interesting indeed.
Oh hells yeah, been waiting for this one, freaking love this series. Allow me to break down some of the setting and story ideas:
First and foremost, yes, the last two trailers were for 2 DLC chapters where you play as Daud, the assassin who actually killed the Empress.
This definitely seems to be a game you enjoyed 😁🥳 We will have to investigate more 🤓
The great thing about Dishonored is that you can go through the full game without killing anyone and it will actually affect the ending and the game world
😎👍😇
This is such good surprise, i just played dishonored a few months back.
Nice! 😀😎🤟🥳
Great vid as always, I always wanted to see you guys react to some crazy movie trailers I feel like you’d guys would enjoy it a lot!
Is that like a series or is there a movie called “crazy movie”? 🤔
I remember getting this game for free on xbox 360 and being absolutely dumbfounded by how awesome it was. Definitely one of the better stealth games out there.
😎🤟
Actually Daud (the assassin) didn't kill the empress daughter, he said in the trailer he delivered her. When you play with him, its some time before the events you play with the first character. After he was framed, but before the main events of the game.
😎👍🙂
One of my favorite games of all time, it's hard to get all the story when they're moving so fast but the jist of it is the second guy is dlc and he's the one the killed the empress in the original story and your character was planned to take the fall. So the outsider gives you the similar powers to that of the assassin and you can redeem yourself by killing everyone or sparing people
Thanks for the quick rundown of the overall story 😀
@@Zeptil Heyy why the spoilers?? They should experience it them selves!!
Good timing as we will have a Dishonored 2 reaction posting in 10 minutes 😁🥳
As everyone's saying here...Dishonored really is a special kinda game. Lethal and non-lethal options for all the bosses...stealth and combat refined to a sharp edge...and a really nice narrative mixed into some A++ world design.
😎🤟🥳🤩
So the “devil” that gave corvo his powers is called “the outsider” He isn’t good or evil, he just does whatever he feels like to entertain himself. That’s why he helped corvo, but he’s also helped some of your enemies you fight.
So he’s like Loki or something 🤔😈😇
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames kind of, yeah.
An angry judge dredd and c’thulhu baby 😯 Sound intense 😝
I'm so glad you reviewed Dishonored guys , I've been waiting for this ...
#Dishonored3
We will be checking out more from the series. 🙂😀
Thanks for clearing that up for us 😀
I am still waiting for a third one. I just love the concept of how you can play through the entire game without ever actually killing anyone, including your main targets. There is always a convenient way to dispose of them otherwise like branding them as a heretic and having them discharged or exposing them as a traitor to the entire city and having them run off.
It’s cool that it gives you options like that 😀
that name, the name that brought everything down, that took everything from you, that one little name, and for me, the coolest one, Daud.
A lot of action. Dishonored is the best!
😎🤟🥳
Best games of all time / Far cry 3, Far cry primal, Hitman absolution, Assassin creed origin, Dishonored ❤, Red dead redemption 2, Days gone 👍

I highly recommend also checking out the "Tales of Dunwall" mini-series related to the the game and specifically the world it is set in.
We plan to check that out as well 🙂
Im so happy i asked for this
We are too 🤗🥳
I didn't realize they used Dan Bull's song for the acclaim trailer, that's awesome
This game was great for its time. The ending greatly depended on how many people you killed throughout the entirety of it, the more kills you've got, the worse the ending was.
😎🤟😇😈
He was definitely going for the high chaos ending
Thanks for sharing your quick review of the game 😀🥳🤩
The 2 DLC's are great, f##k dunwall trials. I still have to get daredevil, headhunter and by my hand alone achievement. it's hell.
there's also the Dishonored 'Tales from Dunwall' which is a series of 3 videos, combined it's about 5 minutes long.
We will check that out 🙂
Another one of my top 10 favorite games. Think I replayed this 3 or 4 times! The gameplay is sooo cool and perfectly fits my stealthy playstyle.
We are opposites gameplay wise 😜 But this still looks enjoyable and we should learn stealth style 😇
Nice series where your actions effect the city, be more brutal and there's more plague and rats to avoid later And a ending to fit your playstyle.
😎👍😈
All choices we make have consequences we have to live with as we go forward, so its important that we're sure of the choices we make ^_^
You guys make me so happy.
😊🤗
Welcome baaaack

Dishonored was a great game and I loved The Knife of Dunwall which is the first DLC. I recommend either playing them or watching the story unfold cause it's really quite something
A game and Franchise we want to check out more of 🙂
9:18 wow, i didn't knew they used Dan Bull song in official trailer, that's nice
😎🤟
Oh damn 😳 so it’s not so much about not having a violent outcome just in getting others to do the violence for you 🤔😈
The Dishonored franchise is so gd brilliant. Just a quick (attempting little to no spoiler) summary:
--the world is definitely Steampunk, with a lot of dark aspects.
Multiple playthroughs lets you pick and mix their power sets, but the story is directly related to the antagonist of the Daud DLC (the Brigmore witches)
--In the third game, which should have been a DLC of the second in my opinion), you play a new character (that you meet earlier) as she explores the history of the Outsider.
The TT RPG, which adds some details to the world, assumes its before the first game on the whole, but you can play it at any point really. It's not as robust a game system from that company as say Star Trek Adventures or the new Dune Imperium game, but is still really neat.
Very good and comprehensive review 😀 Thanks so much! 🥳

Dishonored, another awesome (must play) series! Nice stealth gameplay, nice story, awesome atmosphere. Do you play honorable or dishonorable is the question though ;)
Also, not that long games either. About 10-12 hours for the main story in the first and 30-40 hrs for completionists. The second is also about 12 hours main story, 40-50 hrs for completionists, but you can spend 100 hrs in this one xD

Dishonored, my favorite game ever!! So glad for this reaction! I highly suggest you watch The Tales From Dunwall videos next as they cover a bit of lore 💜
And yes, Daud is the assassin who killed the empress and Corvo was framed for it. Which only happened because Corvo came back sooner from a trip. Originally, Daud was supposed to kill the empress and that was all, end of the story. Bad timing on Corvo's part, I guess 😅 Also, the "blade" on Daud's wrist is actually a crossbow!
We added Tales from Dunwall into our request list 😇

We would probably be on the mega high chaos path 😂😈
The game has a actual time line that was written I think. But that is where you make your story and what happens. As for the DLC it runs in line with the game as events fall into place. The second game will be great to see your reactions to.
Look forward to checking out more from this franchise 🙂
Dishonored is such a good game. It's one of those games where all the elements of the game is great be it the character, story, gameplay, lore, the world... Everything about it is just 10. Sad it isn't very popular.

One of the things I like about the series is that u can do a mission in so many ways u can go around with out killing or being seen or go mayhem mode there is so many power combinations also thre is a chanal stealthgamerbr he is probably the best dishonored player out there the stuff he pulls of is like watching a super hero movie its insane
Always love seeing expert gamers go to work and have heard that gameplay on the channel is epic 🤩
I hope you guys react to dishonored 2 trailers, they’re so awesome!
We will 😀🥳
Revenge solves everything is a creed I endorse whole heartedly.
Hehe. 😁
Thanks for the tip on the game of the year edition 😀
As somone who always sneak around in games i loved this game so much and finished it without killing anyone.. well finishd it without killing most of them 😂💚
Haha, mostly not killing totally still counts in our book 😇
You can play as the accused or the killer.
Do Max Payne too maybe?
It's all 3 games are definitely on my favourite list
A franchise we have to check out at some point 🙂
Maxpayne3 is amazing.
Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore Witches are both dlc.
😎👍🙂
my favorite stealth title of all time! played and cheevo-hunted this game a long time ago! great game!
then when I played it again when COVID came along, it felt pretty... on point... haha
Haha, yeah imagine playing this during the height of the pandemic could be pretty surreal 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames no joke, we had a truck rolling around the neighborhood with a loudspeaker announcing curfew in my native language while there's a loudspeaker in game sort of saying the same thing, propaganda tagline and all... that was quite an experience
Aaaah yes! My favorite game of all time!
High praise 😀🥳🤩
This is an amazing game and I have the "mark of the outsider" tattooed on the outer elbow of my left arm to prove it
If you guys liked the powers here I totally recommend checking out the Infamous series, it’s grim like this but more like a comic book
We have that series in our request list 😀🥳
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames awesome
It even let you be creative in how you kill the mob too (like attaching an explosive mine to a rat that are running toward them)
The second dishonored introduced, imho, one of the best level design involving a time travel system in a game..
You got to watch kara short. And react to it too. In the other channel perhaps. If i’m not mistaken, it was originally just a short tech demo to show the capability of ps at that time..
