Get the grocery getter wagon running for the wife and you can a Galaxy daily driver each. That 2 door will be a great one for you once the few issues are sorted. I would just hand stich those torn parts of the seats back up and you're good to go.Thanks for the videos. Love them.
Love those old Galaxies. My first car was a 63 1/2 Galaxie. That wash job made a big improvement. Love Ralphie's enthusiasm. He seems willing to jump in and help out on these projects. I can tell he's a good boy and is being raised right.
Thank you for saving this car and making this series. My first car was a 64 custom 500, cheap version of the Galaxy, but this has brought back so many memories of owning and daily driving mine. Love the patina!
Place a dehumidifier inside the car, close all the windows see how much moisture accumulates in the dehumidifier collection tank? Do this for a few days...
I am a super fan of the 63 and 64 Galaxie's. So happy you saved her and showing her progress. I can picture what she could look like. Love its stance and its patina. Fix some more minor things and she will be an awesome beast. Cannot wait to seenmore. Thanks for sharing!!!
Y'all make fixin' cars look fun. Somethin about y'alls wholesome attitude and good nature make me forget how much I hate fixin cars and I find myself wishin I could be there with y'all.
My grandad bought a 62 galaxie 500 with the 390 thunderbird big block and auto. Same color as your galaxie. When he died he gave it to my moms brother. They’ve let it sit for years atleast 15. I’ve tried to get it from em and get it back driving. It only needs a gas tank. But they won’t let me get it. Glad I could hear yours run, it reminded me of how good it sounds when it is running.
@@Sleeperdude sounds good I know that. I’m hoping one day they’ll let me get it before it rots. It don’t have any rust holes yet. The worst spot is around the windshield. The gas tank rotted out of it. But right before it sat the motor and trans got rebuilt. I bet they don’t have 15 miles on both. Just been sitting.
Congrats on the 40k subscribers!! You deserve much more. We LOVE your videos and still want Rocky. Lol. Never thought I’d watch someone clean a car but was very satisfying. 💜
Makes me remember, in 1964 when I got my license my dad had just bought a red Galaxy 500 two-door hardtop with a white vinyl top and a black vinyl interior, But he only chose the little 289.
I can picture original gold paint, Black vinyl top, XL interior with console and bucket seats, original looking 15" wheels painted Wimbleton White and period correct tires. Hope you Keep this one and 64 wagon as well.
It's like uncovering the goose that laid a golden egg, love the content sleeperdude, Rocky def always makes me laugh, and I love how tight knit your family is
Seems like no matter where we are, the wife is always right 😆😆 Amazing what a bit of elbow grease mixed with soap and water can do. Great job and I love the 🐐 👍🏼
1964 was a good body style year for all the automobile manufacturers. They were the classic NASCAR stockers. Someone reccomend a NASCAR restoration. That would be awesome.
Good video man. Poor Rocky getting scared in the galaxy! But funny though. That was a good clean-up job. Ralphie did a good job on the cleaning up. He did a good job of riding the goat like that. That was funny too. He is exactly like my son very funny and active with the crazy things they do. That was a cool burnout you did again. Good video buddy thank you for sharing.
Looking like a serious bad boy with the car, hair and black T shirt - only thing missing is the cigarettes rolled up in the shirt sleeve. Like the old B&W movies of the '50's and early '60's. For real, I'm not being facetious.
Keep going on the 1964 wagon and two door Galaxies. My second car was a 4 door sedan 1964 Galaxie 500 Baby Blue. I bought it in Glen Burnie, CA, IN 1971, while in the US Army, for $800.
In the early 80s I bought a galaxy 500 had a small V8 and 3 speed manual bark metallic blue with black diamond interior. I put five spokes and f series casings and a generator and clutch bought for $125 . Totaled two years later by running into a trailer with no lights doing 35 in the left lane on a four lane freeway
pick your favorite car...do aaaawl the bodywork....I think we all would love to see your 20 years. of skill as a body tech....nice car and video...thanks!
Great job cleaning up the Galaxie 500 guys. She dropped a ton of weight losing all the mold and dirt. Looking real good. Keep up the good work on her. Big Al.
Hey, SleeperDude and Sleeperfamily. There must have been thousands of Galaxies made over the years. Many people have great memories of these cars. Six cylinders to 427 V-8's. It could be a grocery getter or a winner at Nascar tracks. Ford made some great cars and trucks over the years. My friends Father had a 65 or 66 with a 352. Which I thought was strange 🤔. Because I was ten in 1970. All I knew was a 351 Windsor or Cleveland. I don't know how great a engine the 352 was. But I don't think it was a FE engine. Maybe I am wrong. It could have been a Edsel motor design. It's just a strange engine to me. Like the small V-8's like the 221 and 260. It's awesome to hear from other RUclips Channel watchers about there experiences with the Galaxies. I love the 2 door and the station wagon too. Ford Ford Ford's. Shawn
Maybe, but it should go back to gold. Red '64 Gals are common as muck but the gold is much rarer (and prettier). The fact that I HATE red has nothing to do with it 😁
love the car and have one of my own! in rough condition but doesnt have those “factory drains” lol! keep up the good work on this restoration and cant wait to see what it looks like when its all fixed up!!
Washing that old 64 Galaxie 500 definitely made it look better and all that chrome was in nice shape under the mud that's been covering it for 30 years. Looks like little by little you are getting it fixed up pretty good for what it is anyway. Thanks for sharing your videos they are all great.
If you get your cap wet after washing or condensation inside cap after driving on cool nights. Towel the inside of cap out, spray the outside of cap and wires with WD. This will help it crank up and at night you can see the spark travel.
Quite surprising it's still got all the chrome trim on it. Love the look and style but a hell of a lot of rust work to bring it back. I'm glad it's your call what to do with it. 👍👍😎
That car in gold with a black interior must have been a beauty when it was new. I'd use SOS pads instead of foil - I think it's dulling the gleaming finish.

One of the best ever made. The grill the tailights and bumper fitment. The trim, the interior, the motor,
Classic perfection!!!

Nice work SD & family! There's something pretty satisfying about watching that pressure washer work it's magic.

A repaint to gold would be classy as heck! Watching you deal with Rocky, as cute as he is, confirms that I will never have a goat...
