These V3s look so much easier than ours at my climbing gym in Texas. They do Team USA stuff there so idk if that's it or maybe these just look easier than they are in real life.
Ex V11+ climber here, took 5 years off and now V4 is hard. It's almost a humbling feeling what it's like to have to work for those tough ones again, especially when you forget what those feel like to new climbers. Honestly at first I felt discouraged because I would hold myself to this pedestal of what I once was. Now, after a month of getting back to it, I climb for the love of it. Don't let your past self ruin your present passion! :)
If you used to climb more than v11 which is almost Magnus level and took only 5 years off you wouldn’t have difficulty with a v4, I climbed v4 normally after 1 month when I started climbing, v4 is a beginner grade

Hey Magnus! impressive, you're a beast! You mentioned the gym's route setters a lot, it would be interesting to watch a video with them setting some problems and explaining the logic of it:).
I second this, it would be super interesting to see how they think about approaching an idea. One of my all time favorite videos of yours is the one where you and Pete try to set super hard routes for each other. The magic of route setting is super intriguing!
Magnus, I must say, although the easier problems won't feel interesting to you, watching you go through the motions still held a lot of information for me. I am currently at 6a level, so more or less a beginner, so please know, that your work on the easier routes is still appreciated.
Magnus saying that he recognizes names in the comments and feels like he's talking to the audience and not just the camera goes to show why he is one of the most wholesome youtubers on the platform.
Hey Magnus, just want to let you know that I really like videos like this one. Ones where I can just watch you climb non stop and listen to you chat + the voice overs. I guess videos like this one are not as exciting. But some days when you just have so many things in your mind, it's great to have a long and mellow video like this to watch. Helps me unwind :) So it's an understatement to say that I was so happy that you decided to start the "More Magnus" channel. Thank you very much for that :)
(As a women) I really like the videos with Marte in it (especially because of your interactions), however it is not the main reason I watch. Man I just love watching you climb! I just started the sport seriously/on a regular basis and struggle on these lower grades. I just am mesmerised with watching you breeze through it.
Such videos are actually a nice almost “background” videos, very soothing and yet interesting. I work home and my main work is in my laptop, and turning this video on while working helps to focus, because 1) it is nice to hear Magnus talking to you, 2) you understand that Magnus is doing his best to reach the limit and you kinda need to work this hard too
I would imagine there aren’t that many people in the world that have both the skill and strength to just casually do every single boulder problem in a gym. This is incredible!
Some feedback as I'm watching: Magnus' personality is more why USA probably watches... Level of calm while doing difficult things and explaining them is something we like Of course people watch more when Marte is along... We're all trying to learn Norwegian curse words and the couple is great to watch doing things together. Climbing or not, the life of Magnus is intriguing... Probably why I'm buying the book.
> Magnus's personality is more whu USA probably watches... Level of calm while doing difficukt things and explaining is something we like I think thats pretty universal, atleast its the same in Sweden
I'm not even a climber but something about your climbing videos makes me want to watch more and more... So thanks for keeping me entertained for 50 minutes straight 😃
You are such an inspiration. Ive been afraid of heights and falling for my entire life. The past year i went climbing with my gf for the first time and slowly got more comfortable with it. Im still afraid often but am able to do way more than i ever thought I could. Now watching you, I want to officially get my own membership and practice more often as i love mental+physical challenges.
I never climbed and most likely never will, but I'm here just because I love your videos. I think the climbing isn't the main reason for me, it's that you seem to be an amazing person. I'm cool with whatever content you create.
I watched the entire video, Magnus and let me tell you: at this point you just feel like our friend who is a remarkable climber and very talented at creating videos! You are truly an inspiration. Keep it up and greetings from one of the 1% Austrians!
Watched the whole lot, even though the only thing I've ever climbed is the stairs. :) Amazed at the hard work that went into making this video, all the camera placements the lights, and then having to do the climbing on top. A marathon session.
Magnus, you’re a freaking beast. These are my favorite RUclips videos of all time. Love the hard climbing, the commentary, the music the transition shots. You are my favorite thing on RUclips and the reason I love climbing so much!
As someone who only climbs up to 7A+ I really like watching the easy problems too because they really let us watch your form and extreme strength. Good video Magnus, good luck on 1mil!
Didn't realize female viewers were so rare. I love watching and hearing about the climbing, and especially your more viral 'pretend to be a beginner'. I've never tried bouldering, but this channel inspired me to go rock climbing on my recent climb to Alaska. Just short top rope, 5.5-5.7 climbs, I didn't make it to the top of my climbs, but about 55-60 feet of a 70 foot wall each time. My first time climbing, and I haven't been rapelling in 20+ years, so it was just really fabulous. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hey Magnus, when you say you look tired and not climb really well, then still your moves are so fluid and so inspiring to try climbing again and again. Cheers from Hungary - also great music choices
Hey Magnus, thanks man. You're channel introduced me to climbing. This sport plucked and threw me far out of depression XD. Thanks so much man. Also, to Juji and Tom who introduced me to you XD.
To be honest I've never tried climbing before, but I enjoyed watching you because it's so relaxing and entertaining at the same time. Magnus just to genuine there's no "fakeness", no drama, no bs, just straight up it what it is
That one at 12:20 was amazing, the solution being that you have to jam your knee in there and can basically hold yourself up there with no hands? Incredibly impressive and creative by whoever set that one
I visited my local climbing gym for the first time last week. I had so much fun despite being new at it. Everyone there was nice. I'm definitely going back. Thank you for the inspiration.
You're impressed with those of us who watched it all - I'm pretty impressed with hoe easy you made the 8A look - and also how you seemingly flashed every boulder in the gym. Insane!
A display of extreme athleticism but also very beautiful to watch. You have made me love bouldering and climbing. I'm a 61 year old woman, probably not a huge demographic slice for your viewers. I have been a body builder and long distance/climbing cyclist. I am disabled with arthritis now, and will never be able to climb, but it is wonderful to watch your art and skill!
Magnus, you mentioned that many people wouldn't watch this, but I want to let you know even in 2024 we are still watching the full video. Keep making great videos!
Very cool! As a beginner climber I actually really enjoyed watching the “easier problems”. Thanks for sharing the journey, that looked like a hell of a training session!
Coolest video I watched over the last week. It just takes you into the atmosphere of 2am climbing gym with the music and chill narrative. I have to be honest, during the day when I want to switch my brain from the job I would rather choose a 5-10 min video(I know it is not an ideal rest for the brain). So, even though videos like this are not too popular these days on youtube, I still appreciate the effort and sincereness Magnus puts into these. Thanks
Love the videos. I am not even a climber and this is one of my favorite channels. I have gone to a college climbing wall maybe twice with a friend. That is the extent of my climbing background. I watch these videos to relax. It is something so hard that Magnus makes look effortless. Tbh what brought me here was a toyota related video because my main interest is cars and working on cars. Just thought I would share how I arrived to this channel. Glad I did though.
You made that V11 look like a V2! I can't imagine how strong you'd need to be to make it look that easy. I also really enjoyed watching you climb the lower grades, they're relatable for me and probably a lot of other viewers and it's cool to see how a really adept climber approaches them.
I appreciate your honesty as much as your climbing skills. Both in what you talk about, but also how you present yourself. I think that sets you apart from alot of bloggers/youtubers. Just keep being yourself and you'll continue to grow!
@22:48 The chances of you reading this are slim, but I just wanted to say I'm greatly enjoy watching you complete easy and difficult boulders. What ever thought was going through your head at this moment (looks like doubt towards the project, or "why am I doing this"), just know you've put smiles on many peoples faces and have given other inspiration. Thank you.
Would love to see you a version of this where you show the climbs in the order you did them! So interesting to see how you climb when tired, even on the easy problems. Love the content ❤️
Hey Magnus, just wanna say even though YouToube is super "clickbaitey" these days, there is still a lot of people out here who like genuine titles that are not misleading and just state what is actually happening. Either way - your videos are incredibly good. Cuts, music, voice over, entertainment level etc. all just great 👍
I know it's taxing to produce videos like this but I love them. I've been climbing for about 8 months now, so being able to watch someone with as much experience as you work through all those problems really helps. Being able to observe your technique and hearing you discuss the problems is very benefical for new climbers like me! Appreciate you as a teacher and entertainer!
I like how transparent you are about what kind of content you're making and how you market it. Personally, I think you've absolutely nailed the click-bait-y to "honest" ratio, and what you dub as click-bait on your channel, doesn't feel like that at all to me. Every time I watch one of your video's I learn something new and my day becomes a little more wholesome! Actual click-bait doesn't have that effect ;) Also I think RUclips recommended your channel to me (Dutch, female, 20-something) around the time Marte joined, but her presence is not conditional on my watching and enjoying your video's at all! Seeing her being able to do pretty difficult boulders as an absolute beginner and seeing how fast she progressed, made me feel more confident I could actually do this too! But, I learn the most from seeing you do and talk through the problems - especially the simple ones, since that's where I'm at. We love what you do Magnus, thank you for sharing your craft with us :)
Magnus - you are a true inspiration! Definitely my climbing idol. Keep on crushing those boulders! I have told almost every single one of my friends about your channel and they are all in awe as well!!
dude, you're amazing, amazing climbing (as always) and you are just incredibly good at keeping entertained, never watched a 53 min video with this ease
Watched beginning to end, 50 minutes felt like 5 minutes! I learn so much from watching you climb, thanks for the inspiration and sharing your life with us.
These videos are my favorite, they're great for practicing route-reading. I pause at the start of each route and try to map out which hand/foot goes where, and then hit play to see how it matches up with your approach. Appreciate your hard work and keep making these when you can!
I love seeing “try hard Magnus”!! Whatever you’re doing, climbing or not, keep trying hard! I get stoked to go climb from your videos either way, keep up the good work
Incredible video, so so entertaining to watch this magnus. And thankyou so much for adding the V scale into your videos as an American we only understand the V scale haha
The real sense of perspective when you're explaining the "easy" problems in a way that novices can understand, then executing through the tough ones so fluidly is really inspiring. I feel like I've learned a new language just through watching your videos. I see a lot of techniques and things in the moves I wouldn't have noticed before. Came here for the military endurance stuff originally and stayed because your approach to life and "problems" is the same. Whatever content you create, we'll be here for it.
One of the most interesting videos on your channel. I've been climbing for a year, but I feel like this video is worth several training sessions by itself, just by looking at your technique and taking good notes. The footwork is especially impressive on several problems. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely love this format Magnus, understandable how some might not find it as entertaining but it gives me so much motivation. My only complaint is it makes me want to go to the gym on my rest days lol
I'm aware that you're not the "best" climber in the world (whatever that means), but I really do see you as the king of climbing. Watching this entire video in one sitting is mesmerising and inspiring. You're a legend, Magnus.
As someone who has recently returned to climbing, after many years off, it's nice to see the varying difficulties of bouldering. These videos help a lot with planning and technique. Thanks Magnus.

@@Alexhenn1804 During locks down I trained a lot at the gym with the setters, while most people couldn't have access to a gym. We all got a lot stronger, and when they re set it was indeed quite a bit harder, because their base level was higher too. I think that's why with most gym
Mine got easier!
These V3s look so much easier than ours at my climbing gym in Texas. They do Team USA stuff there so idk if that's it or maybe these just look easier than they are in real life.
I've experienced this as well. Its almost like the setters in my area forgot how to set v1-5 completely.
@@lookherelooklisten7850 good for you, nobody asked
grade difiiculties are different at each gym
@@lookherelooklisten7850 what a stupid reply. He could be way out of shape or have gotten injured or anything in those 5 years...
@@lookherelooklisten7850 🤡
@@lookherelooklisten7850 As others have said, it might have been an injury or anything. Also the pandemic in the middle of his five years (I suppose) probably made things even worse. Life can be a bitch sometimes and I hope you will never understand this.
I'm late but I love all your videos, you don't have to keep explaining yourself or your actions, or worrying about specific content being boring ("boring easy climbs" I am working on v3/v4 so theyre not boring to me) etc.
Told myself several times i will watch him do one more and then suddenly i watched the entire thing in 1 go. You are amazing. Will start climbing again in a few weeks it has been years. Watching you seems like a good preparation. You more than earned a subscribe
Hey Magnus! impressive, you're a beast!
The magic of route setting is super intriguing!
yeeeeeeessssssssss
I also would love to see a video about the route setting and maybe also on wich criterias they give the routes their grades.
Magnus, I must say, although the easier problems won't feel interesting to you, watching you go through the motions still held a lot of information for me. I am currently at 6a level, so more or less a beginner, so please know, that your work on the easier routes is still appreciated.
Hell yeah
I 2nd this
Magnus saying that he recognizes names in the comments and feels like he's talking to the audience and not just the camera goes to show why he is one of the most wholesome youtubers on the platform.
Helps me unwind :)
So it's an understatement to say that I was so happy that you decided to start the "More Magnus" channel. Thank you very much for that :)
I was entranced the entire video. So fun watching a profesional in his own gym, with no distractions just doing what he does best.
i love how every single one of these long climb videos I think “im just gonna watch some of it” and I end up watching the whole thing
(As a women) I really like the videos with Marte in it (especially because of your interactions), however it is not the main reason I watch.
Man I just love watching you climb! I just started the sport seriously/on a regular basis and struggle on these lower grades. I just am mesmerised with watching you breeze through it.
Big thumbs up for not reading out loud Czechia but saying Czech Republic instead! :)
Going to my first climbing gym tomorrow, all because of you. You'r videos are like therapy, You'll reach 2M soon Magnus, I know it
Such videos are actually a nice almost “background” videos, very soothing and yet interesting.
Some feedback as I'm watching:
Magnus' personality is more why USA probably watches... Level of calm while doing difficult things and explaining them is something we like
Of course people watch more when Marte is along... We're all trying to learn Norwegian curse words and the couple is great to watch doing things together.
Climbing or not, the life of Magnus is intriguing... Probably why I'm buying the book.
> Magnus's personality is more whu USA probably watches... Level of calm while doing difficukt things and explaining is something we like
I think thats pretty universal, atleast its the same in Sweden
The us demo is probably because it has a ton of people

I'm not even a climber but something about your climbing videos makes me want to watch more and more... So thanks for keeping me entertained for 50 minutes straight 😃
START CLIMBING ALREADY! :P
he's shirtless. that's probably why
@@Andreastheduck I mean, that's part of it. Not a big part, but it is nice.
I nearly never write comments but this time I just have to. Amazing to see you bouldering again in such a long video !!!!!! I love it!
I watched the entire video, Magnus and let me tell you: at this point you just feel like our friend who is a remarkable climber and very talented at creating videos! You are truly an inspiration. Keep it up and greetings from one of the 1% Austrians!
I am from Gosau in Upper Austria. So we are already 2 Austrians watching Magnus. Love these vids!!!
This video came at perfect time. I was just wondering what to watch tonight and this is it
Watched the whole lot, even though the only thing I've ever climbed is the stairs.
I love how Pete haunts all your videos.
Even in this one with the shoes discussion, followed by the Wide Boys volume !
You nailed that flipperoo
I love watching your videos with my 3 year old. He's always cheering you on saying things like "try again!" or "you can do it!". Warms my heart.
As someone who only climbs up to 7A+ I really like watching the easy problems too because they really let us watch your form and extreme strength. Good video Magnus, good luck on 1mil!
I can tell this took a lot of work not just to climb but to film and edit. Great job, super chill video to have on
Didn't realize female viewers were so rare.
Great editing Magnus. Love the running commentary and introspective thoughts.
Insane!
I love how magnus feels more comfortable making a voice over these kind of video's. Keep up the work ❤
A display of extreme athleticism but also very beautiful to watch.
Stop doubting yourself Magnus! It's great content. Even the easier problems! Watched the whole video and I enjoyed it very much!
This! Magnus, you are such a perfectionist... ;)
Very cool! As a beginner climber I actually really enjoyed watching the “easier problems”. Thanks for sharing the journey, that looked like a hell of a training session!
The video feels like meditation for my soul. Thanks for putting in the hard work to share this with us.
not sure how i found you, but i am a female, 27 , east coast USA 😊
after a depressive 2020-2021, this is my new hobby. thank you.
Thank you.
Man, its not boring to watch easier ones, believe me, its just cool to see someone who can climb like 8 hours straight. So much inspiration
Watching these videos in the evening is like meditation to me and probably many others. You're inspiring!
I put this video on my second monitor while studying, saw almost 2/3 of the video and I love it. Started climbing last month and I love your channel
me trying to pronounce Marte's name: "marr tuh"
Magnus pronouncing Marte's name: "loch ness monster"
I'm french, so i don't understand your joke😂
LMAO
@@loss7265 Merde?
@@loss7265 il dit que n'importe qui prononce "Marte" simplement alors que Magnus prononce plutôt "mah-ha-jte"
Magnus, please do more of this type of content, its very relaxing and inspiring watching you climb so effortlessly
dude, you're amazing, amazing climbing (as always) and you are just incredibly good at keeping entertained, never watched a 53 min video with this ease
I get stoked to go climb from your videos either way, keep up the good work
I've watched this video like 3 times in 5 months. Feels good coming back and getting motivation for sending harder climbs in my own gym!
even watching two years after posting, listening to magnus pour his heart out about the things that are important to him was so heartwarming
Great video 💪 Didn’t skip a second and yes, the ‘easy’ ones really are just as interesting. Thanks Magnus 🙏
An entertaining, exciting, and inspiring video 😊 i couldn't help but watch the whole thing
As if I needed any more motivation to go to the climbing gym today. Okay Magnus. You win
Not boring at all, and create what you want, brother! Cheers, Daniel
