@@shihi51 I did not buy a kit. I went and searched all the parts after i did a bunch of research. Good thing about the 420a 2.0L DOHC engines is the heads are cast so they can actually handle a turbo.... BUT before you go crazy, replace the timing belt and timing belt pulleys. Also, inspect the cams and replace the valve cover gasket, tube rings, grommets. Be very careful, LIKE WARNING!! Do not just tighten that valve cover down, follow the bolting patterns and bolt specs for lbs. I have the TO4E .63 Turbo with external wastegate. Stock setting is at 8lbs but you can push almost 20lbs with that motor stock. Just change that timing belt, all the pulleys. Remove evap tank, not needed. Vac Delete everything but the coolant overflow tank, Throttle body, Blow off valve. Also mine as well use new motor mounts since you can undo one and prop the engine up and do everything on it at a tilt. Find me on fb @ Toney Redfern or message me here. These cars are super awesome to work on. Very easy to install turbos. also i switched to a Cast iron t3/t4 exhaust manifold. New water outlet and thermostat. Serp belt, timing belt and pulleys. All new gaskets. Make sure to change the piston robs, the heads are cast as i said before, they can most definitely handle a turbo.

So ive got a 3g eclipse, and im looking at 2gs for sale, i hate convertibles irrationally so i will not get a spyder. reason im looking for 2gs is my 3g is an auto and manual 3gs are hard to find and are going for a lot more than 2gs are. My goal for the 3g eclipse was to boost it to the neighborhood of 350-400 horses since the 4g64 can do that relatively easy. Now to the meat of the question. What can the 420a handle on stock internals? and how much work would it be to boost it to that goal? How much is yours making?
I didn't have to, just didn't want it cause the pump wasn't working anyway. Free's up alot of room and weight. It's very common to delete the A/C and cruise control

And i don't think you mentioned anything about an FMU so im wondering how do you raise your fuel pressure under boost? You have a stock ECU as well so you obv dont have any tune in that sense. Does the fuel pressure regulator do that?
Yeah I'm working on making another update soon, just have been really busy. It is a 99 with the stock fuel regulator removed. Replaced with a sfmu to set the static fuel pressure at idle and raises the fuel pressure under boost. Its a BEGI/cartech fmu. Most people run those or a vortech fmu. Combined with a walbro 255 pump. As of now I've upgraded to 440cc injectors.

You hinted you may be getting a megasquirt EMS. If you do get one I'd like to know from where, Symtech Labs is outta business so you cannot get it directly from them anymore.
@@joshAKAtheman I may go with the MS system in the future, this car currently is my daily driver so don't have much time or money to go for the upgrade. I've seen plenty of non MS 420a turbo pushing 20psi no problem however, just need the correct fuel setup with built internals. People all over the forums will pressure you to go mega-squirt but you really don't need it unless your going all balls race. But yes mega-squirt systems nowadays you have to build yourself with a kit, like the ones sold by diyautotune.
Unfortunately hahn racecraft doesn't sell the turbo kit anymore. I found this one from a guy years ago. Just keep your eye out. You could piece something together buying all the parts separate.
Yeah I did some research and its actually completely normal with forged internals, they manufacture the pistons with slightly smaller bore sizes so they can expand to higher temperatures under boost, thus the knocking.
Yeah I have and the only one that's available anymore is Megan racing and it's $800. They used to be a diamond dozen where you can get cheap ones on eBay for 30 or $40 but they simply don't exist anymore
Does anyone know where the top hose on the intake manifold goes to/ starts? The one he blocked off for the EVAP delete with the yellow rubber piece. Any help I’d really appreciate 🤟🏼
It goes to the canister solenoid on the passenger side behind the front bumper. Part of the evap system. I removed all those lines. PM me if you need help.

1. EGR system takes up vital space engine bay 2. Exhaust gases going back into intake doesn't sound good. I wouldn't recommend it if you're state is harsh on emissions testing.
On 10psi somewhere possibly around mid 200's i'm guessing, have not taken it on a dyno. Have had lots of problems sense this video (timing belt broke driving 60mph, blown oil fitting, etc.) But I'm trying to make time to make another update.
Auto meter electronic fuel pressure gauge, runs off a sending unit attached to the fuel pressure regulator sfmu. The aftermarket regulator runs off the schrader valve on the rail with a SS line then returns to the tank.

It's was custom made. Any plumbing or pipe fittings store can make one for you. Just tell them the fitting sizes on each end.

Did u have any problems getting a fuel cut while getting on boost?
Not at wide open throttle, only sometimes if i press on the gas slightly maybe for passing someone on the highway. Not a huge issue though.
