Going to start work on my 1982 Cadillac Sedan Deville that was repainted in 2016 to be a Baby Blue Beauty!!!! Stock it was dark blue with the blue interior Buuut the repaint just makes it that much more special!!! It's a lighter shade of blue than Ford's Sky Blue color or whatever they call that color IDK, I had gotten the Car in 2019 drove it for a few months then had a Traumatic Brain Injury that put me into a Coma for a few months and the Hospital for a total of 8 months Between October 3rd 2019 And June 16th 2019, It really sucks because that came just about 3 months after I had gotten a FULL motor rebuild Kit From a company Called Northern Auto Parts, And while the 4.1L V8 isn't even that amazing It SURE IS smooth!!!!!! Soooooo.... HOPEFULLY!!!!!!!! As soon as I am out of a wheelchair (Disabled Not Handicapped) I'll have SOMETHING to look forward to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It may take me a biiiit to rebuilld the motor buuut Let's HOPE NOT!!!!!!!!!

I love this series Alex! I had a mostly stock 1GB Talon that ran a 13.1@104mph at 18 psi on race fuel (stock fueling) with the factory 14b. Great car until it went lean and destroyed the motor....then I sold it like a fool. Enjoy the DSM journey and us old DSM owners are happy to tag along for some memories.
Back in the late 90s my buddy ran 12.9 on a ported 14b.
If you turn the top bracket around, it will lift the inter cooler up
Like 2 inches and the bumper will probably fit and your intercooler and piping wouldn’t sit so low.
Omg reminds me of high school. Had exact car but blue and I set mine to 20lbs almost same exact mods you did just all old school stuff. Had greddy blow off and it always turned heads.

I'm not sure if you were referring to the car or just the part, but this would be a 2nd gen Eclipse. First gen was early 90s akin to the Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser.
Rippin off the valve cover oil plate is essential for these dsms , the stamped studs break off at high rpm causing valve train malfunction 💡

I have a 15 passenger van myself - an 04 v10 ford e350, just got it as a family camper build, but boosting it seems like a better option than making it camping/off-road worthy 😂. This episode is awesome. My son and I are outside droping a JDM replacement engine into my 02' WRX. Remember a guy in a red Eclipse GSX smoking me everytime I saw him when I first got my WRX. Always loved Eclipses. To bad you don't see them to often. Thanks for saving this one Alex.

I think that blow-off valve (actually its divert valve) needs boost pressure on that small vacuum line. When it's on car boost from intake manifold helps spring to seal valve.

On all the vw 1.8ts the diverter definitely goes on the other way , boost pressure will push up the valve and leak everytime.

1g bov are metal and can hold a few more pounds of boost. Mitsu cheaped out and used plastic bov on 2gs

Watching this reminds me of working on my 91 Talon TSI. I loved that car. But a cheap upgrade you can do is put the big 16g turbo from an older evo (3 or 4 I believe) but that will give you more boost and it looks badass! Be careful pushing that stock turbo at 18-20 lbs of boost, you might blow that turbo even being the first gen one.

IMO, keep the tubing silver. Be a little different. Two stage the white with a midcoat with gold or silver flakes and make the engine compartment shine.
That turbo looks like a Mitsu 14b from a first gen, if they upgraded the exhaust manifold, the turbo is probably ported/larger wheels too I bet. I've seen 16g with that housing too so hard to say, it's definitely not the T25 it came stock with though.
This channel is keeping me awake at midnight just to watch what a fellow car guy doing on the other side of the world. Keep on keeping on Alex, hope to see a Porsche on the channel soon (for more than 30 seconds :D )

The only car that I've wanted as much as a Trans Am WS6 was an Eclipse GSX. I had a buddy when I was in the Navy that had a red one. My dream car of course being the GNX.
You should get an AMG spark plug cover. They tuned the 4g63 in the Galant vr4.

The Texture has to go, I would say to get the texture sanded off and then repainted. The texture just screams 90s and while the car is from that era, it doesnt go well for today's build.

You used the wrong intercooler kit.
Turbo lag is a sob on a 4 cyl.
You need a short route kit where the intercooler outlet to the TB is on the back, not the sides.
It goes right between the condenser/radiator and the core support, might have to Sawzall a little bit but worth it for short route piping.
Love this channel so much. I have been a long-time follower and have loved seeing this channel grow and change. I think Alex needs to get another helper/ assistant. I know things didn't work out with Peter, but that chemistry was golden!

For the face lift front bumper you'll need the headlights as well as they change 2ga to 2gb eclipse and talons. Rockauto is cheap place to get them actually.

Dude you guys would be the perfect people to experiment with an older Infiniti. They have Skyline engines even in the wagon/hatch/crossovers. Turbo and tuned you could have a crazy 500hp crossover/wagon lol. And they are super comfortable luxary vehicles (now they have Nissans awful CVT, especially post 2019, but they kept automatics, some auto-manuals, in most things for quite a while. And some look really unique, even sleeper-y)
I've had two mostly stock 2nd gen GSXs. They are really great cars when they're working. Even stock they do have some reliability issues. The suspension is a really nice combination of good handling with a pretty nice ride. I did higher rate sway bars and I really liked the car in canyons.
The best wheels for a 2g Eclipse are the Rota Slipstreams.

My projects…2000 bmw e38 m5 swap (need donor 2003)…1979 dodge xplorer 228 4wd conversion and efi upgrade to 360la and swapping 727 with a518 and np231 transfer case to d60 up front. 1972 VW super beetle refresh. Heater channel and floor pan replacement. 1999 Land Cruiser overlander project…2000 Land Cruiser lift and sliders (selling). You asked!!
I don't know if this has been sorted but on a 14b, which is the 1G DSM factory turbo, 20 psi is far exceeding what that little thing is able to pump out efficiently. It's not really a safe amount of booster on because you should be turning the turbo into a blast furnace that's humping up hair dryer while they're both pointing bazookas at your engine.
If you like the smaller quick spoiling turbos that's your punchy and fun to drive, which I feel like you do, you could start out with an Evo 3 16G upgrade for cheap. The forums showed that one in particular Evo 316G made in China sold on eBay is actually a quality product. You just have to do your research Make sure you get the right one or you can just buy one to have rebuilt for yourself since they're dirt cheap anyways. That terrible will make nearly 400 at the wheels mile achieving unlimited smiles per gallon.
If you just want to go more extreme from the get then I can pull hardly recommend buying an FP black to meet up with your FP manifold and toss into FP2X cams with the little valve train upgrade action. I think your court is 95 so it should be easy to install DSMLINK/ECMLINK

swell (adj.) "fashionably dressed or equipped," 1810, from swell (n.) in the "stylish person" sense. As "good, excellent," by 1897; as a stand-alone expression of satisfaction it is recorded from 1930 in American English.
