I like the trunk. Ebay used to sell big squares of flat carbon fiber that you could order. Would be cool if you cut one to shape and velcroed it in that back trunk area.
have a 95 gsx manual I converted to 2gb and about to get it repainted black. Even got black leather oem seats for the car. I just have to find a passenger fender and a new hood. People on ebay are charging over $400 for a god damn fender. Not paying that so I guess I'll be waiting awhile for deals before I get it restored.
Black on black is going to look good! I agree $400 is crazy for a fender. I would start calling junk yards. Any 2g Eclipse or Talon fender would work. You may have to drill for side skirt retainer clips, but that's no big deal. Good luck with your build. It sounds like it is going to sweet.
You're right most seats are huge. The drivers seat is a old Megan Racing seat thats bolted to Sparco sliders. The seats were discontinued about 10 years ago. I have a friend who bought Sparco r100s they fit about the same as my seat in his 2g DSM. Sparco r100- amzn.to/3FtCJ3N
Thanks! I think most people use ECMLink over Haltech because of the price and familiarity of ECMLink. The Haltech is a good product but the "plug and play" harness by itself costs almost as much as ECMLink. I can think of one good reason the go Haltech over ECMLink. If your factory engine harness is trash and you are comfortable pinning out your own connectors, Haltech with their universal harness is much cheaper than buying a aftermarket harness. My Ohm Racing wiring harness is really nice, and should be for how much it cost. Hope that answered your question. Thanks for watching.
@@grumpyvetgarage that answered my question brother! Thanks for the reply. It’s pricey for sure no doubt. But I wanted an updated version for tuning purposes. I’ve had ecm link for a long time and most people aren’t familiar with it for what ever reason and they just prefer to what they are used to I guess lol. Thanks brotha!
@@grumpyvetgarage this is a question not related to my previous question.. Can you use a 1g clutch master cylinder in a 2g with a six bolt swap bottom end with a 7 bolt head? Sorry for the ignorance. I’ve tried searching and can’t find anything or if there’s any benefits for going with a 1g master cylinder.
@@kevinmorales8094 I don't know of any benefits to using a 1g clutch master cylinder in a 2g. I would stick with 2g clutch parts on the car, in my opinion.
Very nice ride man! Kind of surprised you kept the 2ga rear bumper. Is installing a Volvo power steering system really as easy as power ground and a potentiometer setup? I've been playing with the idea of getting a couple setups from the wrecking yards for my 1g and 2g's, can't seem to keep a pump in any of my 2g's. I'm thinking I'd put the electric pump where the battery tray is on the subframe. Was there a reason you put yours in the trunk or was it just for a cleaner bay?
Thanks. I hadn't got around to changing the rear bumper and side skirts. I'll probably wait until it's time for body and paint in the future. For wiring, it really is that easy. Mounting, making and routing lines is the hardest part, more time consuming than hard. Putting the Volvo pump on under the hood and relocating the battery sounds like a good mounting spot. I put mine in the truck to clean up the engine bay, but in hindsight routing the lines all the way to the back was a pain.
I'm using a seat rail that isn't made anymore for the 2g DSM by Extreme PSI, but basically it is this base with Sparco brand slider bolted to a Megan Racing seat. www.extremepsi.com/store/Sparco-600-Series-Steel-Seat-Base-Vehicle-Specific.html
Your right. It's half mounted in the passenger wheel well and half in the engine bay. It's bigger than most turbo cars intercooler. Thanks for checking out the channel.
What size tires are you using on those wheels and you don't have any issues with tires rubbing in the wheel well or taring up the splash shields when you do full turns?@@grumpyvetgarage
The tires are 255/35R18. I cut the splash shields in the front end of the wheel well because they will rub if they are not cut. No rubbing any where else.
Sick car bro. It would be nice to see more content of eclipse on this channel.

Thanks. That's a good idea. I didn't want to make a cover out of anything heavy. A carbon fiber sheet attached with velcro would be a good solution.
Good job man, clean ride :)

Hate the green on these cars, however this car is very tastefully done, the wheels stance looks perfect ! 👌
Info on the driver seat ? It's quite hard finding seats that fit well. Yours looks perfect. Subscribed as well.

Yeah, Claudia reminded me it was 1998.
