- Finally catching up with a few things around here. New start of my old 2g Eclipse. instead of building the 420A , decided to srt4 swap the eclipse. For anyone out there that would love to do it as well. ill have as much info here as possible. hope you enjoy the video!!! like/subscribe and share. That 420a transmission won't be able to handle the power or torque from the engine Bubba. But will continue to follow this build. One man show. Hella respect!!!
yes im aware of tht. we will see what happens. if thing decide to blowup. we will go with something better lol
Trans would need better clutch also possible rebuild internals too

The srt4 and the 420a share the same block if I’m not mistaken, just have there own differences

Daggum 420A never should've been an option for such a cool car. It's like being offered a V6 Challenger when we know a much bigger/better engine exists.
It really is hard to find a list of compatible engines because no one takes the car seriously. Someone always says sell it and buy the 4G63/4 instead. Meanwhile here on RUclips people are dropping V6/V8 engines into these cars.
Can I ask a question how is it that your installing the transmission to the engine without a clutch? And already trying to put it in the car ?
Test fitting engine first and mocking up everything on the car. its straight foward to remove the trans on this car
Why didnt you use the 420a head so that the turbo is out in front?
how much does it cost to swap with 100k on the motor
so far not to far into the swap probably about 1,500 in total as with everything so far. ill make a video once it’s completed
Interested to see this build I've owned 3 2g eclipse myself and all have been unreliable 1 was 4g64 the 2.4 spyder and 2 being gst spyder never tried the 420a but curious on engine swaps for it for try number 4 on eclipses

Again, unreliable because of lack of maintenance. My 96 GST Spyder runs better than the day it was bought with 121k on it. They were unreliable because of lack of maintenance.

@@fsigarage8981 lack of maintenance on any car will cause unreliability. Timing belts and water pumps are huge on Dsm cars. They keep them happy. Other than little bullshit gaskets and seals , tranny fluid. These cars can run for a very long time. A turbo will give up, no big deal. Easiest turbo swap I've ever done . Their blocks and heads are very strong. It's incompetent owners that ruined them . Jump on DSM tuners and see how many cars are over the 200k mark never been cracked open.
