Break Down of 97 SRT Swapped Neon

- I'm not big into editing videos so this will be a raw video straight from my phone, to my computer, and then to youtube.
Insurance just totaled this car out in June due to me hydro planing and rear ending another car tweaking my hood, crumpling my driver side fender, destroying a set of black housing halogen depo headlights, and scuffing the bumper up.
I have had people ask me about my car and its set up in the past my car isn't one that usually stays the same for very long. Like most car enthusiasts I am always looking to improve my car, so this will be a basic break down of my 1997 SRT Swapped Dodge Neon as it sits in my garage. Yes this car is daily driven in the summer and then parked in the winter unless it is needed as a back up vehicle.

Nyg....goodlawd id love to see more of a legendary green95 acr. Rear disc. Abjustable kyb's. I really miss my old neons agyer seeing this vid. Running a tuned 14 Focus St now but i need to go back to my 96 sohc amd my 98 rt. Both red amd both coupes.. sold years ago to one good friend. Always dresmed of an Srt swap.. Your 4dr is absolutely beautiful!!! More vids pls lol
What material did you use to cover the dash? Also, sorry to hear about your bad luck with Turbo Lab. I've dealt with them in the past for upgraded wheels and rebuild kits, but never had an issue. Great job on he car. I recently got an 05 acr srt4 that I'm currently building.
It's just a fabric weave. Some days I would like to resin coat it but then I think about the glare that would come off the dash.

This car is fucking sick mad props. And absolutely not hating but I would've went 2 Door. I wanna see a fully Built/ swapped SRT4 Body Kit to match hoop spoiler the whole 9 yards on a 2 door Coupe. But again this car is no slouch and looks sick.. awesome car bro 👍... keep us updated on the coupe as well that greens a little wild looking. What is is Kawasaki Green?
Actually the green is the factory color from 1995 called Nitro Yellow Green or NYG for short
Hi, Cheyenne. I have a ‘98 Neon Sport 2 door. I was planning on turbo’ing it once I had some more time over summer break. I’d like to know how much, about, it costs to do a turbo kit installment, and if it would be even worth it to do it now?
Cost is all going to depend on what you want out of it and on the platform that you are utilizing DOHC/SOHC/MTX/ATX. What kind of goals you are looking to achieve with your build? There is plenty of information on neons.org as well.
Cheyenne Connell Thanks for the swift reply! The load out it’s packing from the factory are a 2.0L DOHC, mated to the terrible 31TH ATX transaxle. I’m planning on finding a manual Neon so I can do a aftermarket swap, and from what I’ve heard from the Neon forums, it’s not going to be that difficult. The only thing that isn’t stock on the econo-box is the air box, which had a crack running down it at one point. Now, honestly, since it’s cranking only around 150HP @6500RPM, I’d like to see that number cross over the 200 scale, if possible. If I went any further, I might wake up my entire hometown of Salisbury, lmao.
@@Probookuser03 no problem on the reply. An ATX can be good if you build them right but they lack the fun of the third pedal. Only know that from when I ran a built 3 speed auto for a bit. The atx to mtx swap is relatively straight forward I had just swapped another car from 2.0 DOHC ATX to a 2.4 MTX last winter. Depending on your mechanical ability you could do a Stratus block with SRT internals, SRT head, SRT intake, and SRT turbo kit relatively cheap. The tune it on an FIC.
What part of MN you at? You should bring this out to the coonrapids cruise nights.

@@1997ne0n I don't know if they will be doing it again this year but the coonrapids cruise nights were huge and had everything from collector cars to death traps .

No I have never had this car up at BIR just never have time to make it up there. I'll be loading the car up and heading out to Michigan next week for N2K19 and hopefully get some 1/4 track times next Friday with it.

Yes I have gone to ICC 2017, 2018, and 2019. I much appreciate the comment and that would be awesome. Depending on all this madness I was originally not going to make it due to military training out in CA but with Covid who knows what's going to happen with anything that has been planned.

No I am running stage 3 cams in the car

My brother wants to do a srt swap in the first gen because that was his second car that he loved before he had to get rid of it because the motor blew

problem with these (besides they didnt make a 2 door like older neons) is trans cant handle 500 hp or better..
Don't really see an issue as I am making 500 on the t350 out of the 1g neon, 2g neon, and pt Cruiser.
@@1997ne0n Yea I dont know if you ever followed the Boosted boys one of their friends has a srt4 called "The Curse" he broke so many trans at drag strip...over 500hp alot of people break their trans.. but im not sure the difference between yours and his
@@romuluscreative yes I do follow them and I meet up with Jamie every year at Ice Cream Cruise. I have taken pictures of my car and the curse together. My car and his car are running completely different transmissions. As the srt-4 has the t850
