when this first dropped it was unreal. nobody knew who he was or what he looked like. there was 0 marketing and he 100% blew up based on word of mouth alone. it was just dropped on the internet and ppl made their way to it. he actually had a retail clerk job and would go into work hearing ppl talk abt his music but nobody knew it was him. also u made the right call listening to the originals version! the trilogy version has an extra 10th track for each mixtape and theyre all actually really good imo so if u feel like making a video on that after u finish thursday and EOS i’m here for it

You gotta listen to the bonus tracks that were added on trilogy (the remaster compilation of the 3 mixtapes). There’s 3 bonus tracks, each is after the 9th track of each mixtape. They are so good they might as well have been on the originals. Sidenote, the difference between the remastered versions and the original tracks aren’t as big as you might imagine, there are the few big changes here and there but overall the remaster carried over a lot of the samples.

For the number of times you mentioned enjoying having the songs unsettle you, which is something is didn’t notice from them but realized after hearing you mention it that is probably why I love the whole album so much, I would recommend listening to Avith Ortega(inspired by Akira Yamaoka‘s silent hill soundtracks) not necessarily video material but the unsettling calm in most of the songs is something I can’t get enough of. My fave song is Always a bright side, and I love the album Trail to the Past. Fair warning they are all ambient music
