This was awesome! Your drawings were great and clear and easy to understand. Perfect way to explain what you were talking about. I love seeing the same ink in so many different nibs. I wouldn’t believe it’s all the same until you show them in the writing sample from smallest to largest. Then I can see the progression.
Thank you so much for sharing! 🤘🏼😸🤎🖋

Yay! Glad it was helpful! I would have been fooled if I wasn’t the one filling the pens 😆

I feel seen! Lol....I literally had that pen in my cart the other day... Just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I think I've just been pen-abled!!

Consider myself lucky to have ink flowing!

I use a medium mostly but switch to fine when I need to write margin notes, insert small text, or make edits stand out. Broad is for headings, titles, underlining.
That's awesome how the same ink looks so different. Great video.

On some pens the more ink in the reservoir or cartridge makes the flow a little wetter from the slightly increased pressure. I wonder if a large, full reservoir would do that more on a vacuum filler. That extra flow can act as a lube on the nib making it a little smoother and appear to write slightly larger on some papers. It just means we all need a variety of pens and nibs. lol.

Yes to variety! That would be an interesting theory to test out, the effects of ink capacity and ink volume on the writing experience.

Thanks for sharing!! There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE to me between the MF and M. I use MF in my planners and M for letters and other things.

Great Video! Thanks for sharing! The green demonstrator Sailor Realo is very nice! I, too, have been trying to identify what Sailor nib size I prefer- XF, F or MF. However, from the nibs I've tried, there is not enough consistency within the Nibs themselves to narrow it down.

Thank you for focusing on the pen instead of the box.

They're very pretty pens. I'm still new to the hobby and learning what I like. I think I really need to get some fountain pen friendly paper

I think you commented on nice shading with M c/c but when you did the size comparison at bottom left, I felt shading showcased best on your M Realo. This comparison video was so informative- thank you! What are some wet inks you enjoy in the 1911 EF?

I bought the same color and nib size, but in the 1911L! Mine is currently out being adjusted due to scratchiness (😬), but I hope when I get it back it's nice and smooth and juicy too. I love the color. It's so funny how they all make the same ink look different!

Thank you so much for sharing! I have been trying to decide between the Realo and 1911L…but they both look great lol 😅😅 It’s always fun to watch your videos and happy npd!

Thank you! Both options are great, so I hope the one you pick meets your specific preferences (piston or converter? large capacity or quick to clean? price and availability? etc.).

I'm still in the beginning but I'm very intrigued by the dark brown in the 1911L fine. So weird.

    About the piston, sailor copied aurora and they have a “second reservoir” in the piston ie it is hollow and holds a small amount of ink inside the piston, you are supposed to extend the piston such that it touches the end of the feed nipple and you have some little extra ink;
that might explain why you see ink above the edge of the piston

I have only one 21k M and it writes very well, sometimes i feel like i should have gotten a broad and an extra fine (profit/pg)
I only tried the broad in store after i ordered the Medium and i loved the Broad!

Ahh yes, I wish we had fountain pen stores in the world just so that we could have experiences like this.

I just recently found your channel but I have to stop watching your videos because you make me want to buy pens I can't afford! 😅 My favourite Sailor nib is Broad. It's way more like a western Medium than I expected, but that wasn't a drawback. It's my absolute favourite nib.

LOL! I find it helpful to keep my goals and even my no's in front of me so that I can stay strong during even the most tempting RUclips videos. I understand the struggle! I hope you're able to enjoy while still remaining true to the promises that you make to yourself. Thanks for watching! ❤️

    1. Number one lesson here is take the claimed width of a nib with a grain of salt.
    2. For me, anything smaller than M is less pleasant to use.
    3. Thanks for the informative video.
