    Happy for you! I hated my first sailor so much that I returned it. Then I tried again and now I'm addicted!

      @@inksplat I couldn't stand the feedback. It just felt scratchy to me. Then I acquired several vintage pocket pens with 14k or 21k nibs by sailor and got more used to the concept of feedback understanding the difference between scratchiness and feedback. Then I really wanted one of the sound of rain pens and that really made me fall in love with the feedback.

      @@FountainPenNewsthat's good to hear. And is there a difference between the vintage and modern Sailor pens' nib feedback ?

    Here are some more pangrams ...
    "How razorback-jumping frogs can level six piqued gymnasts!"
    "Quick zephyrs blow, vexing daft Jim."
    "Sympathizing would fix Quaker objectives."
    "Waltz, nymph, for quick jigs vex Bud."
    "Jinxed wizards pluck ivy from the big quilt."
    "Big July earthquakes confound zany experimental vow."
    "Five big quacking zephyrs jolt my wax bed."
    "The five boxing wizards jump quickly."
    "Fox nymphs grab quick-jived waltz."
    "Bawds jog, flick quartz, vex nymphs."
    Nice post, thank you for sharing!

      @@inksplat Ooh! I haven’t even thought that far yet. I was thinking I should use a non shimmer ink to start. Tho I think FWP Stroke of Midnight or Celestial Blue Legacy would be good match.

    I just ordered one of these pens. Because I prefer to match ink with the pen, I like that I can use blue, black, and blue-black ink in this pen.

      @@inksplat Oh, I already did! I've inquired if I can get it with a Broad. And I ordered a Slim in Broad first to see how I like it. I wonder if there is a big difference with broad nibs in 14k (my tester) and 21k (the POTY)

    None of the sailor space pens have excited me as much as blue green nebula. I wish they made it in the pro gear. I was really hoping I’d like the series more so I could collect them all. 🤣

    I love the looks of Sailor pens, I love all the colors they come in…I want the Standard size Loch Ness Monster and Wicked Witch of the West just because I adore the names - but I do not love Sailor nibs. Especially don’t like the wishy washy MF that comes in most of the Pro Gear Slims. Not an ink to pen matcher either. Lately I have been getting a new ink, and then putting it in all my pens. I feel like it’s a good way to get to really know an ink.
    I reward myself with a pen when I have a rough/stressful week at work. Sometimes I have a two pen week, but last week it was just a one pen week. So I ordered a Pilot Custom 743 with a medium fine nib….only the seller sent me an FA nib by mistake….and I love it. So now I have to order another one with the medium fine nib. Looks like it is a two pen week after all.

    • @inksplat
      @inksplat  6 месяцев назад

      I’m not a fan of the MF nibs, but I really really love the Sailor M nibs. To each their own, of course! Best part of the hobby is there’s something for everyone!
      I have had multi-pen weeks myself. Lolol. I hope you enjoy your new custom 743(s) - I’m glad you love the accidental FA nib!! I’ve never tried that pen or that nib!

    • @geslinam9703
      @geslinam9703 6 месяцев назад

      @@inksplat it’s the big Pilot #15 nib…they are usually stiff in the basic sizes, but the FA is softer and a little springy, a little broader than a Pilot fine. You get line variation if you want by applying pressure. So awesome. Maybe one of these days I will get a Loch Ness Monster in medium!

  • @beritbunny

    Demonstrators are usually not my thing; “white” metals are definitely not my thing; but I really like this pen! The ink you paired is (obviously thematically but also) visually very well-matched! Just so fun and great to see!
    I want a pilot Justus 95 (but which size? I think there are two!) and/ot a Twsbi eco sapphire (the one you just showed in a recent video.) for my next pen; but I’m kind of holding off. I want to refrain from spending, and also I want that new LEGO set that is a Dungeons & Dragons Castle. 🏰✨

    Of all the pangrams I like this one the best: "The five boxing wizards jump quickly"...or maybe, "pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs". Pen looks nice but the ink doesn't hit me in the feels. When you said that Writer's Blood is an extremely wet ink, and that reminded me of an ink I got recently that is extremely dry for me: J. Herbin Ile des Cafe. Had it in a broad nib and a stub with two different pens. Couple times throughout the day it's a hard start, but then it's good for awhile. It's a nice reddish brown going down then dries darker. I almost got "Manda Bingo" but missed out that you never said "It's so pretty!" lol, you were saying it's gorgeous! Get your head in the game! lol

    I don’t have a Regular Pro Gear, but I have several PG Slims. Are the PGS different than the PG regulars sized pens when you write with them? I would love to have a Pro Gear to see of it’s worth the extra $100? I love transparent glittery fountain pens... I have yet to buy a Sailor they are so expensive... Dream Sailor Pen is a Sailor Pro Gear in Soda Pop Blue M/F, it was the Pen of the Year in 2022...
    I heard you say March 27, 2024 @ Midnight Central time that Atlas is doing a site wide sale... Is there a sale around April 8th, when this video was posted? I always forget the affiliate codes when ordering pens... Thanks for showing us this great pen :)
