- Now playing in select territories and opening in North America Wednesday is the final chapter in Peter Jackson‘s Hobbit trilogy: The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Unlike the first two installments of The Hobbit, the final chapter is almost non-stop action and features some incredible sequences that fans of The Lord of the Rings will absolutely love. In addition, if you have the chance to see it in 3D, the added ticket price is worth it for this movie. The film stars Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Stephen Fry, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, and Orlando Bloom.
At last week's London press junket I landed an exclusive video interview with Richard Armitage. He talked about what he always remembers about making the movies, some of his deleted scenes, what he would ask J. R. R. Tolkien, embarrassing moments from the set, and a lot more. Either Thorins funeral, or tauriel at kilis funeral, the bad thing is fili gets no attention because hes not a main character and nobody in the movie loves him. Or maybe thorin fili and kili get buried together.

I agree with taking the eagles to drop the ring in mount doom they had the eagles at the end so it doesn't mean the ruler of the eagles would have been upset for he was Gandalf's friend but if they did then there would be no journey.

I think it's Thranduil euthanizing Tauriel. They hinted it because that scene didn't get a resolution and she asked him to take love (a.k.a. the pain) away.

I suppose for the same old reason that no-one but Frodo can have the Ring in their power without falling under its spell.
Although... Gandalf DID say "FLY you fools" before he took a spill with the Balrog...

Just a theory, there are several arguments for and agsinst it
Collider, please help me put this through to Peter Jackson. I am sure you too are interested in seeing those deleted scenes, unused for the Extended edition of the Lord of the Rings, be put back in the trilogy :
- Fellowship of the Ring : additional footage from the Battle of the Last Alliance (and maybe add Lee Pace’s Thranduil into it), an extended Council of Elrond (dialogue from the Council of Elrond, such as Gandalf explaining how Sauron forged the One Ring)
- The Two Towers : Arwen and Elrond visiting Galadriel at Lothlórien, Conversation between Elrond and Arwen in a library in Rivendell, after Arwen decides to wait for Aragorn. Elrond leaves saying “You gave away your life’s grace. I cannot protect you anymore”
- Return of the King : further epilogue footage, with endings for Legolas and Gimli, Éowyn and Faramir's wedding and Aragorn's death and funeral. Also, to give context for Wormtongue killing Saruman, and Legolas in turn killing Wormtongue, it was to be revealed Wormtongue poisoned Théodred. The final scene cut was Aragorn having his armour fitted for the Battle of the Black Gate by the trilogy's armourers, which was the final scene filmed during principal photography, and others.
Peter stated that he would like to include some of these unused scenes in a future "Ultimate Edition" home video release, also including out-takes.
It would be great if Peter would be able to revisit the cut of all 6 movies in the near future, do an "ultimate cut" of the 6 movies and integrate those scenes I mentioned back in the movies (instead of deleted scenes). He would also be able to reshoot the "Bilbo finding the Ring" scene from Fellowship of the ring, replace gollum from the shadowy scene in the Mines of Moria (from Fellowship), add more Balrog vs Gandalf fight (as you wished in the first place when you thought about the sequence but you didn't have the means and budget for it at the time), integrate Thranduil in the Battle of the Last Alliance, etc. (as did George Lucas with Star Wars afterwards).

hahaha! Yeah, you're right... but I tried anyway, because there are so many fans of those films, yet they cry for the Silmarillion to be made (which is legally impossible to make) instead of campaigning to get those deleted scenes out there. :)
Lotr Hobbit It would be cool but also except Thranduil in that Battle there was quite a lot of Dwarves around 50 000led by Durin IV who helped the Men and Elves!!Tihs would have made the aliance even more epic~!Too bad PJ iddnt have the time and resourse to show the Northern Theatre of the War of The Ring :(
