I've actually got underway about the children who clean the cannons each day on the great Wall of Iskandar. I thought it might make for an interesting piece of writing, so once this busy week is wrapped, I might have time to get back to some writing for fun. lol
I thought the Sultanate was cool. When I first saw the rules for the Tawkin creature, I knew they were the faction for me. The customization and kitbash potential is astronomical. Become Frankenstein.
Well, when the only creature that can wield it is a 10 foot tall alchemically engineered monstrosity specifically designed to be a living artillery carriage, you can start to understand why.
There are a couple things I don't like about the Iron Sultanate, stuff like the Iskander interpretation of the Dhu al-Qarnayn, and the fact that claiming to be bale to create life is downright blasphemy in Islam (Would've preferred Jazarian artificers instead of Jabirean alchemists personally anyway), but I still think they're quite baller in general.
I think the hard swerve into alchemy when they found it work to the extend that it does is indicative of how far they are willing to go to push back the forces of hell, just like New Antioch and the Meta Christs. It's more a sign of the desperate situation they find themselves in that anything else, I think.
@@scannerbarkly See that's the third thing I forgot to talk about, alchemy being this mystic, almost magical art about putting bodily fluids together to make homunculi has no root in Islamic culture, and is something medieval European, Alchemy in the Islamic Golden Age was simply a less advanced version of modern chemistry. I do think the homunculi are pretty cool, I really do, but I think I would've liked another direction like technology, something that fits their non-grimdark aesthetic, and is inspired by something from history, just like New Antioch have their Mendelist Monks, inspired by Gregor Mendel, it would've been rad to have "Jazarian artificers/tinkerers" rolling up to the frontlines with their robots, inspired by Ismail al-Jazari, considered to be the father of robotics. But that's just my inner technophile speaking I guess.
@@THExRISER I'm sure they will want plenty of room to expand factions down the line, but if they go tech heavy for one group, there is no reason not to go tech heavy for the others. I am liking the Faith Punk vibes, myself. I'm sure we will see more advanced things down the line.
@@scannerbarkly They did say all Islamic faction united as one so I don't think we'll be seeing new ones anytime soon, but maybe subfactions that follow different disciplines would be cool, kind of like how in 40K you can field many different armies who all fall under the banner of the Imperium, so yeah I'm hopeful. Thanks for reading my rants.
The assassin warband variant, in campaign terms, is bad. The restrictions and rules changes to what units you can take in 1.5 rules locks you out of the majority of your armoury. Lack of STRONG keyword and the fact you want your 1 maybe 2 ELITES running certain weapons means you pretty much cant take any of your unique or any HEAVY weapons. The non elite units for their cost and abilities compared to other warbands are very underwhelming, and expensive to upgrade. While the only ELITE available is very expensive to kit out to be effective. Cost of armouring the poor units + elite price means a small Warband. So you have a double issue. You have 1 or 2 models that cost half your ducats, and then either underpowered, expensive chaff of a few models, or a lot of unarmoured chaff. Opponent just needs to focus fire your only offensive models and severely limit you, or alternatively butcher your chaff and force morale. Struggling to see this warband variant being anything other than hardmode in campaigns when compared to the synergies other Warbands can bring, and the lacklustre units whrn compared to other factions too. Thoughts?
I think if Trench Crusade drew a few more unit designs for this faction from the Persian costume designs in 300 that would just amplify their coolness, or they could make a corresponding Heretic force with that design too.
Showed these guys to my Muslim friend. Never played a tabletop once in his life and he just backed the Kickstarter because he liked them so much.
Lol
That's awesome
bro litterally same never touched tabletop in my life just liked warhammer but as soon as i saw the iron sultanate i jus new what i had to do
Winged homunculi: it should be mandatory to shout FLY MY PRETTIES on activating them.
There is about 13 seconds missing from the start for some reason, Premiere Pro was being a real dork on this render.
spooky
i know nothing of this game, but the art for it alongside the way you present the lore is really gripping for me ! happy i found your channel
There like a mix of custodies, tau and eldar from 40k in terms of gameplay and it's really cool
I hope to see a story from the point of view of the sultanate

Another lunch break banger 🔥🔥🔥
Frrrr 🔥
The strongest warriors of the iron sultanate are most definitely The Indonesians
Having The Acehnese Sultanate in trench crusade would be lit.
More like nusantara, not indonesia. Because at that time, the term "Indonesia" is still not widely spread through the dutch east indie colony.
literally do serlok tak parani
What do you mean bud there lot of Indonesian "muslim" that still drink alcohol hell they even do gambling and eating haram food

I like Iron Sultinate cus alchemists look awesome and Homunculi look funny.
Of course I learn about this as soon as the Kickstarter ends 😮💨
It'll be on general sale reasonable soon, i think!
These vids really help out with how the game is played and planning a warband. Excellent stuff. Cant wait for court 😊
Hey I've really enjoyed this series! Do you have any plan to review the "Warbands" that come as a sort of starter set in the KickStarter?
I want to do some Kickstarter specific content but my day job is currently kicking my ass and I don't have as much time as I wish I did. lol
i love your style..."if you play like a donkey they'll die" what a quote
Yep, I'm gonna run house of wisdom.
I'm starting a campaign, and my house of wisdom starting warband is 3 models
Right on time 🤘
The Sultanate is definitely my favorite Holy faction so far, especially the janissaries lol. Love the long lore videos
The sappers sound really cool
My wish came true lmao. Yesterday I was hoping to see the sultanate soon
Sultanate Assassin is so cool.🗿
Break down abyssinia next!
Vanilla: Inshallah, eat lead!
Assassins: Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.
Alchemists: It's alive! ALIVE!
HOW THE F-CK IS THAT BOMBARD ONE HANDED

@gasterblaster9817 didn't picked that up the first time, i thought that was an option for the Janissary or Sappers
