I started sobbing during viviz’s performance. I was a casual gfriend fan so their disbandment was very sad for me, but didn’t really affect me greatly. But holy shittttt I was crying so hard during the performance, especially during rough. You can tell how much they miss their other members. Also the amount of times I threw my phone during hyolyn’s performance…LIKE WHATTT?!?!! She left me in complete amazement. Literally replayed her performance several times from how good it was. I initially was just watching for Loona and WJSN (mostly Loona) and I still really hope that either of them win. But just based on the first two performances I’m definitely rooting for Viviz and Hyolyn now.

HYOLYN felt like Coachella performance, totally forgot i was watching an MNET show
hyolyn ate and left no crumbs. i wasn’t a gfriend stan when it was still together but the viviz performance made me cry- it was so good. so sad loona wasn’t able to perform for the first stage.

viviz performance is basically a retelling about how they thrive as GFRIEND and get disbanded but thrive again as Viviz

I'm sorry but the 1st episode was the most boring thing I've watched in a while. I woke up early just to watch it so I wouldn't miss anything. It starts, and then we see the opening stages again, the whole episode 0 again...And it took them so much time to finally give us the performances. Two performances...then they stopped abruptly. Like way to bore and annoy people out of their heads 💀
Anyway i liked both Hyolyn and Viviz' performances, but Hyolyn is my favorite so far. She gave us everything. Live vocals, performance, colors, choreo, a fun stage. It almost seemed her own concert! I'm personally rooting for Loona, but I'm so happy to see that people like Hyolyn's stage. I was worried they'd sleep on her like they usually do 😓

I’m not even a Buddy but Viviz performance made me cry.
like seriously Hyolin's performance was amazing idk how the other groups will top that and i honestly say it as a huge orbit fr i wasn't into kpop back then when Touch my body came out but when i got into kpop the song was basically everywhere in those vids "kpop songs everyone should know", i remember in 2016 how much i loved the song and basically i loved every sistar song, also saying Touch my body is an iconic song it's really an understatement
Am I the only one who likes it when they show other idols’ reactions? 😃 I usually watch the full version without reactions on RUclips first and then watch the episode. And I really like seeing how other groups/idols are reacting to the performance.
As a Buddy, I liked Viviz performance better but I am biased. Also...I never thought I would see another Gfriend performance again and even though it was only with three members, it still brought the feelings I would have while watching Gfriend. I love the performance cause it paid tribute to an incredible group and showed everything that Gfriend was. They also came up with new choreography and left spaces for their missing members on stage.
Although Hyolyn also rocked the stage and did an amazing job! I still think it's unfair to put a soloist again girl groups though.
And did you see the bonus scene after the credits when Young Eun and Yeseo go up to Brave Girls? It's both adorable and hilarious. 🤣
I haven't heard what the results of SouMu trademarks (it seems like there's no results yet?) but I take this performance as the girls way of fighting back in their own way, that ViViZ is GFriend, and all of the imageries in the performance helping to tell us what's up with the passing of the crown, the breaking of the glass bead followed by the ominous smile, the English translated lyrics of Rough that may imply that they'll be together in the end (perhaps GFriend's lore coming to reality, maybe the buddies can clarify on this)
@@tictact0e0 as a buddie, there were times when the girls said they would be together again, we don't know if it was serious or just to comfort us, but for example sowon said that someday gfriend will have a chance to stand together in a stage again, also at the end of the performance the choreographer said that "There's clock hands behind that are going backwards towards 01:16 but you can't see it (on the broadcast)" and at the start it's 02:09, so it means going back from 09/02 (viviz debut) to 16/01 (gfriend debut) :')
@@ewq67e6q I'm only a casual fan but I feel like they would be getting back together, just that since there seems to be no result of the trademark yet, so the girls are in limbo with what to do, so it makes sense that they do their own thing and hone their skills while making money to have the means to fight back for their name, so it's important that ViViZ do all they can on Queendom to help bolster themselves to be able to do what they need to do so that they can come back together again

@@tictact0e0 Source Music failed in their attempts to trademark both the name GFriend as well as GFriends. The judge said that the name is already established for these 6 women and it would be to their detriment if it was owned only by Source Music. So although GFriend don’t officially have their trademark the name can never be claimed by anyone else. So they could use the name again if they ever reunited. But with members in 3 different companies now it would be hard to relaunch their careers as one group again. But a reunion stage or concert may be possible as a one off if schedules allowed. But VIVIZ are busy virtually every day with concerts, variety shows and interviews let alone preparing for their next album. One problem is that Source Music own virtually the entire GFriend discography so only songs already bought from them can be used again, which is just 3 currently.
The VIVIZ performance was not done justice considering how amazing the choreo was. The second video they uploaded truly shows how amazing it was

I really liked Viviz's performance, esp. the live orchestra (if that's the word for it), they really helped with the transition between the two songs, but I do agree that the performance was a little simple. I loved Hyolyn's performance, the stage was amazing and she sang as well! I don't know how I'm going to rank the performances, I feel like they are all going to be so good

@@horus7416 i don't think it was completely live, but sometimes you could hear some vocals come through, something like pre recorded vocals with her real voice put in at certain moments? I’m not an expert tho

Performance wise. Hyolyn slayed the stage to be honest. She's saving the program! To be honest
after i heard the lineup for this, i wasn't too interested in watching the full episodes (hence why i'm here) but i'm still watching the performance videos. however, i never expected for woo ah to show up in this show. i just might have to watch the episodes now, or at least the parts where they show up.

I was excited too when I was watching the episode but they only flashed on the screen twice for 2 hours so I don't think it should be your reason to watch the show. None of the idol judges had speaking parts.

Viviz' performance just looked so simple because the song itself is not up beat. It's really supposed to be an emotional performance and more like a tribute for Gfriend's legacy than a performance for competition. If you're buddy, you'll have goosebumps for their attention to details.
Hyolyn's performance when it comes to choreography has still more details than viviz's performance.. if the stage is a canvass hyolyn didnt leave any white spaces..
J Lord Paul V. Lazarraga sometimes the white spaces add more to the art piece. To me Hyolyn’s was too much overall. Her vocals great, song great, choreo questionable, stage presence great, and styling questionable. Viviz had a better balance that made it easier to watch, especially in terms of longevity. However I totally get why people liked her’s the most and why hers won, it’s just a matter of preference

I think the performance Viviz is for the fans. It serves as their goodbye stage as gfriend, which is something they never had since their disbandment is abrupt and sudden. The visuals they used in the performance actually also points to that. The background had a broken glass bead every now and then and at first, I thought it's a reference to their debut song "Glass bead" which literally had a lyrics "I may seem like a clear glass bead but I don't break easily" but when I actually think about it, it means that the girls are ready to move forward. The glass beads in their storyline actually gives them the ability to turn back time but now, we can see it's broken. I think it means the girls are finally ready to show more of their individual colours instead of the Gfriend's. The change in the ending pose of Rough in this performance also points to that.
It's also good that they did something so familiar and didn't show something at their first round. They didn't put all of their cards down in one go so I'm sure we're all going to be shock at the future stages they'll show.

Viviz was my favorite.
Hyolyn is just not my taste, even if I recognice she did wonderful. I am an old KPop fan, for me her performance was a normal 90's solo american female singer and given I american it has nothing new to me. While Viviz has that story telling and beauty element that I love and I am biased to them, the thing that for me sold that performance is the live orchestra element. With live music I was explained it does not matter how many times you practice you will have always a siglht diferent resoult giving to the performance a different kind of complexity.
Hyolyn is a beast I feel bad for the other groups the amount of the experience she has is just outclassed them. She should have direct competition with Ailee, Lee Hi or Taeyeon.
At first I thought I saw Swan and Ireh in the crowd and then realized that there were idols in the audience and Purple Kiss is there too 😅.

Round 1 in my opinion:
WJSN > Hyolyn > Loona > VIVIZ > Kepler > Brave Girls
I know gfriend stans were really emotional over viviz's performance, but I didn't see it (probably since I wasn't a fan of gfriend). It was pretty, don't get me wrong, but something was just missing for me. Kepler did great, but I wish they messed with the tempo of the song's lyrics to match the remix; I think that would have helped elevate the performance. Brave Girls: same thing- was super pretty and sounded great, but there was nothing entirely special about it.
Overall, everyone did really well and I loved hearing a lot of live vocals (yes, I know they are filtered post production, but they are still singing in the moment). I'm more excited about round 2 though because I think it will force everyone to do something really different.
As much as I love gfriend and viviz, I'm afraid that their orchestral pop genre songs might be one of their flaws against generations with more upbeat and pop-py themes. I did not know how they could pull off a nice performance with two orchestral pop songs, but it exceeded my expectations and I'm happy about that. The thing is, I don't know until when this disadvantage might be.
I really want kep1er to do a clc song, but they probably wont :(
after watching hyolyn's performance, i don't think any of the other groups can beat hers!! hyolyn really went out there and really wowed me!! but ofc, the voting is gonna be biased so i am worried for that :c

7:25 that's just a part of asian television - reactions are a huge part of the media culture in Korea and Japan as there are a lot of societal norms for looking for reactions and reception so those cuts are always there. On the bright side MNet has understood the i-fans compliants (people said the same thing for the Queendom 1 Dance performances) and put the uninterrupted performances on their own youtube channel

I am highly biased towards viviz. It is indeed a very simple but emotional/sentimental stage. Wich i prefer over anything else honesly. But hyolyns performance girll you have amazing charisma and a amazing voice (although a bit too 'sharp' to my liking it is still apriciatable) definitely looking forward to her next rounds.

I prefer VIVIZ stage and performance. The difference between being a performer and a idol is that the first ones choose to tells a story and trasmit feelings without letting the level of the dance and the vocals go down, the perfect balance for the people remember, not just add high notes + dance breaks around all the performance, while the idols just put all together. And VIVIA SHOWED THAT DIFFERENCE. They really are called Queens of performance for something
Non-buddys will not find any story ...."Just" high notes and dance break was also enjoyable "performance "
@@moumitapatra644 there is a reason for the tears of the other idols and fans there, and is the amount of feeling that Viviz share in that performance that can touch a lot of people even if they arent fans. As you said, maybe a lot of non fans didn't understand the story but it wasn't a impediment to feel the emotions in the performance.

ikr. it seemed like a typical special performance on a music show. nothing special.
They had different concepts, hyolyn and viviz which makes the contrast seem more evident when hyolyn performs right after. I enjoyed both. Like hyolyn complimented, viviz touched people’s heart because most know how those songs were really nostalgic and represented them as gfriend. Especially since they were forced to disband. I could guess some won’t understand that. I liked the live orchestra and the different ‘tones’ to the performance though.
In round 2 though, a lot of people were complimenting viviz tho. So I’m staying curious
chris I know it can seem like that since hyolyn’s was very different and more upbeat/colourful but I’m still glad viviz did this, considering how they want ppl to know they’re still gfriend. That’s why it was significant and emotional to them- to have a chance to sing their old songs.

In all honesty, Viviz stage honestly sadly compares to a funeral for Gfriend, and it honestly was more focused on a particular group of people, but that doesn’t make it bad just because you didn’t like it….
Hyolyn performance was super good though don't get me wrong... I absolutely loved they way she did it, but I honestly prefer Viviz's performance because of how thoughtful they were with it.
