Notion really is God tier when it comes to tools
Yeah I honestly now feel like I am fully productive because I use Notion now. All other tools had limitations, but Notion is literally a second brain. So good.

I bought a template I want, but I can't add custom code unless I upgrade my site plan. It's $16 per month!

I don’t think you can unfortunately. Perhaps you could try embedding the code but I’ve never tried that.

Saw the pricing page. And $12/month is too expensive. Better build a website the old way using CMS. And host it yourself.
They should really do some separate plan for user who just want to build a static website for portfolio and such.
Something like 'PERSONAL' plan. That will be around less than or equal to $5/month. For those really basic needs such as portfolios, product catalog etc etc.
And Business plan. (the $12/month).
Complicated Integration, code injections and so on.
My thoughts too. It’s a wonderful tool, but they do need to work on their pricing to accommodate other needs. I already have a website and have been using Notion for my portfolio. I don’t want to pay $12 every month for that.

sorry but i found this video to not be helpful. it goes too fast for the beginner in my opinion. there's a lot of switching between notion to super and it's difficult to know which one you're supposed to be in. i really don't know how to setup a notion db.
