    In the same boat as you after 6 years road riding and track riding various s1000rr's from 2010 to 2020 models. Made the switch a year ago to the exact same bike from road use only and honestly have not looked back. Currently have 16,000 kms on it with a heaps of road trips including a couple of 2500-3000km week long trips, and It is the most fun, most rewarding bike to ride I've owned. Also the most comfortable sports bike I've had too. Chassis, brakes, engine and electronics superb. Had to have a new shock installed when it was new due to an electronic suspension fault and currently in the dealer getting a water pump replaced but seriously, what bike doesn't have small issues these days. Not a big deal. Nice review man 🙌

    I have a 2019 V4S I bought preowned about a year ago with only 600 miles. Came with the same exhaust as yours and up map and sprint filter. I have 5k miles on it now and ride at the track and canyons. I got it for 25k with the extended 3 year warranty and the Ducati maintenance plan for 3 years included in that price out the door and I agree 💯 with everything you said I’ve had no issues at all it’s a beast with up map and exhaust.

    I bought my 2023 Panigale V4S at the end of August last year and I agree with you it is totally worth it and I came from a 2021 S1000RR! Now I do miss the cruise control and heated grips that my S1KRR had but it’s not a deal breaker! The DQS is so much smoother than the on the S1KRR and the TFT display is much easier to navigate on the Panigale!

    • @motorradboy21
      @motorradboy21  8 месяцев назад

      you can actually get heated grips from Ducati on your V4S but the cruise control is top tier, i love that feature! but im happy to hear you’re enjoying it so much 🤘🏼

    Thanks for making this video. I have been very hesitant to pull the trigger on a Ducati V4S for a couple reasons. The first is my closest dealer is 3 hours away. The second is I've heard they get unbearably hot and considering you can never predict traffic, even on the freeway, this makes me nervous. The other two bikes I've considered are the S1000RR but am leaning hardest toward the 2024 Firebalde.

    • @motorradboy21
      @motorradboy21  Год назад +1

      thank you for watching! i totally understand, i’m glad this could provide you with some more insight! they do get hot in heavy traffic but i’ve never had an issue with it overheating or shutting off so you just have to sort of deal with that heat but i think it’s bearable! the S1K & CBR’s are both phenomenal bikes! i don’t have any experience on the current gen CBR’s so i don’t really know how they are but i personally would pick an S1K over one i think! the RR-R might be able to pull me the other way but idk.. i really like the M Package S1K! but it’s really a preference thing.. the V4S imo is more track focused than both the CBR & S1K but if you want something smoother / comfortable for commuting i’d say choose one of those two! but if you’re looking for something different that’s more aggressive & looks / sounds insane i’d say go with the V4S! it’s an absolute blast to ride & feels like a wild animal in some ways but you can also tame it with the electronics!
      just something you have to decide on & again it’s all preference! if you can go to dealers & see what they have to say about them, sit on them, ride them if possible & see what feels right for you!

    It is worth it. To put it into perspective, a 1988 GSXR original MSRP was $5,000. A
    Bimota YB original MSRP (same year) was $15,000. In today's dollars, the GSXR
    translates to little over 14K while the Bimota to 39K. All these bikes are great in their
    own way, but the Ducati has massive improvements over both of them. IMHO, It is a
    bargain at $32K. However, some people "Itch" about prices because their dollars no
    longer stretch as far as it did in the past. BTW, a 2023 GSXR 750 is $13K MSRP.

    • @motorradboy21
      @motorradboy21  Год назад +1

      thank you for putting that into perspective! it even furthers my point, these bikes are well worth the money for what you get! the prices of some bikes are getting out of hand nowadays.. have you seen the resell market of the R6’s? 😂 but that’s just how it goes.. things get more expensive every year!

    Good summary, I am a 1299 pride and joy owner for 4 years now, 6k road miles and 6 x track days. What you predict (loads of torque and limited electronics) is spot on! It's a raw animal and it will let you know when you get it wrong! I am tempted by a V4 SP2 but think I may miss the more raw 'L twin' torque experience. The V4 is a better bike on every metric but may lack 'character' of the big lumpy 'L twin'. If you get that chance to ride one see if you agree. Will let you know if I end up missing the 1299. The SP2 is another $10k on the V4S but already includes many carbon upgrades I would add, so debatable if this saves money in the long-term. In a sellers market everyone tends to value stock over modified with the exception of Akrapovic exhausts! One down-side to the Akra exhausts is track day noise limits in the UK, even modified baffles struggle on UK tracks!

    • @motorradboy21
      @motorradboy21  Год назад

      that’s awesome to hear, i’ve heard many great things about the L Twins & i really would love to ride one & especially get one out on the track! the SP2 is an incredible package, i heavily debated on it but just couldn’t really justify spending that much at my time of purchase.. i still plan to do many of the carbon upgrades as well as other cosmetic / performance stuff! but definitely let me know if you end up missing it & your thoughts on the SP2! & yes, i’ve heard they’re super strict overseas about the Db levels & struggle with the Ducati’s.. thankful we don’t have to deal with that here in the USA!

    I used to own a streetfighter v4s 2022. I had no problem with it. I loved it but there is 2 things I was not a fan of. This bike is nice when you ride it aggressively. When you drive it slow, it does not feel right. My s1000rr 2020 is more nicer to ride at reasonable speed. In addition, I don’t like the tone of the engine sound of the Ducati. I much prefer the tone of my r1m and s1000rr, I know it is a personal preference. But i have to admit the torque on the Ducati is unmatched, honestly maybe too much for me. Not that it scares me, but when I put full throttle with it, my brain / eyes kind of freezes and makes me feel a bit unsafe. In comparison the s1000rr acceleration seems really weak, maybe too weak to my taste. But in the end, I love how precise is the s1000rr. It is so predictable.

      @@motorradboy21 yeah your number is right inline with what it should be, Ducati 2022 press material says it makes 228 metric hp with exhaust, and that’s 224.881 imperial hp. And the drivetrain loss is 10.59% according to a Ducati dealer memo back in 2019. So whp should be 201 imperial hp. And you got 200. That’s perfect!
