The morphing is an "artistic" choice. It's to signify the bug brain effect. If you have a sharp eye you may notice at 5:37 he replaced the 30 Necrotic runes with Carapace Fragments. Barny does a lot of these little edits throughout the video.

A little background to the "morphing" effect that happens in this video:
Generally compressions in videos can be split in 2 groups, Intra- and Inter-frame. While "Intra" compresses each single frame by itself, "Inter" uses other frames as reference to create further compression. In "inter-frame" encoding (MPEG2/4), a reference picture is created from a single frame of video (the so-called i-frame) and a number of following frames only has information about the movement in reference to the i-frame. To simplyfy: You create a picture on a rubber canvas with the i-frame, and the following frames just stretch/move this rubber canvas according to calculated vectors. This saves a lot of data. HOWEVER: If you were to delete/damage the i-frame, the following frames would reference to a different frame of the video that may contain completely different information, resulting in the effect seen.

I think effects in video are made deliberately, though - because video editors apply compressing as the last stage of whole process, so accidental compression artifacts would be evenly shown through the video.
Here, those are seen only on moments that mention "bug brain" or "snake man".
Plus screen recording software (at least I am pretty sure old-school Fraps does) usually writes video in uncompressed AVI format - to not overload RAM and processor with additional realtime compression of video stream, instead writing raw data - at the expense of consuming a tonn of disk space. Hence why Barny's HDD had a heart attack in some of subsequent videos :)

Get what you say, its unfair for others, but most solo players cant get this and these people actually started it, if they didnt use moonkins to spam the shit out of mobs and take all it would never came to this in the first place, so sure unfair but these big guilds on this server didnt start this.
As for DM you spoke of, just make guilds to combat those locks and such who abuse this, on my server we got a guild who camp the shit out of the 15 year old mafia lol
Scarab Lord is unrealistic to be done solo anyway. Rep grind needs 42000 fragments.
All three hives have ~300 mobs, with 15 minutes respawn, and average of 2 fragments per mob.
So one server can "spawn" no more than 2300 fragments per hour. That is very charitable cap, though - with instantly killed mobs, no pvp, no running around. So on practice it will be much lower. On empty server you still need kill all mobs in all hives in
Pretty sure that weird thing from "editing" was because the footage was from their corrupted hard drive.

@@bmo14lax Oh!! yeah yeah that makes sense! I get that haha. Sorry for the confusion. A lot of people do just see the character though not everyone has time to go out of their way to learn who the person behind the character is haha. She does play a MALE undead rogue after all. The associations with your in game character in MMOs is sometimes so strong that people just associate you look like and are your character. I have this with one of my best friends actually where I associate him with a tall muscular pirate lady as oppposed to what he looks like irl most of the time.
