Sony responding practically immediately is absolutely wild, and I hope to see more businesses and corporations follow in that direction and actually listen to their consumers. Even if it’s just a little bit🙌
That is just how Japanese developers work. Still unusable unitl they ditch the phone requirement.

@@pipiriripuriruri9804yea.. perhaps they will launch a dongle in the future .. but i think the phone in-between is more necessary for quest compatibility (reduces the compute power drastically allowing much better performance)

Huge W in the FBT department. Sony has what it takes imo. Small L for not pushing an optional beta kinda but I'm keeping my eye on these. Super neat. Noice vid.
Well companies are fragile at least the stock owners are…You might not abuse the beta for RUclips views but others might and enough RUclips videos will drop company value… Be happy the company is willing to admit mistakes or take advice and allow the original diy’er to still keep giving feedback instead of stealing the idea and coming back in a year to announce a polished version of a “revolutionary” new use for their product…

Stock holders want more money, if your product is being talked about more, and therfore sold more, your stock holders make more money

@@flamingscar5263 Stability, user friendly interface. Pushing out fixes for bugs too quickly will mean you won't do as much QA testing, Sony is a bigger company so there are expectations from it's less tech savvy users that it doesn't break the experience for existing users. Smaller companies will usually have more tech savvy users and even if they have to recall their products from a bug fix that brick it won't cause too many share holder issues as smaller companies have smaller expectations.
@flamingscar5263 stock holders think different if not idiotically compared to the consumer you and i, what your saying makes sense and is correct but still the market has seen time and time again stock holders dont follow this train of thought. Activision blizzard is a example of this, they constantly do not listen to their communities and get hit with massive controversy and lawsuits yet their stock goes up every single time. Its not as simple as "do right by community more sales" because that may be true but stock holders dont folloe it so
@@silis4645 I guess but controversy doesn't always mean less sales do you really think toxic gamers are gonna protest against their main game and stop paying their wow membership just because of women devs getting harrased? Maybe but blizzard stock has LOL and Overwatch and other big games and so as long as they launch profitable updates on those games it cover the impact of stock owners dropping cause of controversy...it did drop -10% around controversy time tho...But I meant if they released beta then RUclipsrs might frame it as soon to be finished which is simply not how programming software works... And viewers and consumers will think negatively because of the videos you have to know if an idea is profitable not ethical when guessing whether stock market drops or increases...airplanes didn't profit and so low stock value in corona times and while video games and online communication apps like discord and zoom got higher stock value while most stocks dropped in Corona times simply because profit
A suggestion for when you compare the Full-Body VR stuff! Please _please_ do the same motions instead of completely different ones. It's difficult to see what is better in certain areas when they're all different movements.
Yes I will do the same range of movements when I do a full test

Good job, Sony!!!! At first you had my interest, now you have my attention. And good job to you too Thrill for making a spot were folks can link up & start working together on VR stuff.
One other thing that has me extremely excited about FBT accessibility in the near future is that the main feature expected for Standable 2.0 is Mixed Tracking, allowing people to only use partial tracking setups with Standable filling in the rest through FBE, which in turn can be improved due to more tracking points than just HMD and controllers.
It's MASSIVE that me might be getting pretty decent IMU tracking with only two trackers, considering how cheap they are, or that, for example, every Nintendo Switch already comes with two. Heck, they're even considering support for camera based tracking systems like Webcams or Kinect, it's crazy!

That AmazeVR thing looks like the Canon camera VR demo in VKet! I think it was Vket Las Vegas that had it, full song and dance number where you stepped into a screen that played things in 3D. Pretty amazing stuff with just a lens!

Ive got to say this has been the best source for vr news for me. you do a great job keeping an eye on whats going on. I've never tried VR myself because I cant afford the experience I know i want and refuse to settle for less. I think once one company figures it out we will see a huge uptick in consumer VR but im glad theres atleast some companies working on it.
That's awesome news about the Sony Mocopi. You just convinced me to pick one up for my second VR setup. I'll wait until the update lands (and reviews) before ordering unless something better gets launched like HTC's camera based trackers.
Hey. I wanted to give you a heads up and give you thanks for bringing like to SlimeVR. I recently picked up a set of them myself and they're amazing. c: Thank you so much. You make getting into the hobby so much easier for new people, and you make people like me who aren't the most tech savvy able to enjoy some of the things that have been considered for hobbiests only.
I like that Sony is watching these videos and approving these trackers. You give the feedback the community its would want and it's nice a company takes quick action to make the best product. I'll likely get those for the quest 3 once they sort out the updates and you tell us about it. But finally a Hassel free solution in the right direction.
It's great to see big companies taking feedback from "professional enthusiasts" like you. People like you are the power users they should hire for their testing tbh

Looks like that pyott design set also has this cool printed lattice facial gasket; it looks like an inbetween of the beyond facial scan tech and a classic general use gasket. Very cool!
I just picked up the Mocopi yesterday and so far, everything works pretty amazing. I'm rocking a Vive Cosmos and the only part I struggled with was trying to figure out where the send/receive option was when it was right infront of me the entire time.
What are your thoughts on it compared to other fbt options?
@@anothercoda3403 Super honestly speaking. They’re alright. If you have the money, I’d go for Vive. If I had the time, I would’ve went with slime, but these are good enough to do what I was planning to do and they’re lightweight but slime is also probably lightweight too but I enjoy the Mocopi. Sony also has good reputation and they have a solid return policy so I trusted Sony. They also released a beta feature for legs and it worked pretty well so now I’m excited for more stuff.

AmazeVR is pretty impressive. The volumetric video mixed with 3D is totally seamless. It blew me away. . . It brought to mind WaveVR, which I miss.

If Sony made an 8 tracker Mocopi package and tried to reduce the cost it would be amazing.
The difference between the 6 and 8 tracker versions would be the inclusion of two elbow trackers and simple name changes for the other trackers.
So there would be:
2x elbow trackers
2x thigh trackers
2x ankle trackers
1x chest and midriff tracker

Just got back into stand alone lately, and I'm impressed after 2 years of PCVR, stand alone has gotten much better.
The Sony Mocopi thing is really cool! Maybe you could mention how they could be compatible with PSVR2, given that both are by Sony? That could be an interesting topic to look into. But an awesome newsday! So exciting for the world of VR! :)

I still don't have any VR headset, I've been waiting for Valve's next one to be announced before I start trying to save up for it, but I haven't gotten to try anything in VR out yet and I guess that's starting to be a big deal, so I've entered your Gleam contest, thank you. Also that was very sweet of Sony to listen to your critique and update their device, I'm glad for you both.
I am seriously super stoked, I want to buy Mocopi so I can have a proper FBT system and hopefully the update comes soon enough for us all
getting mocopi to go right to the computer vs through a phone is gonna take a lot of latency out of the equation
As far as I know, the phone is only used when you're using the Mocopi with standalone Quest.

I love the index controller turn on sound in the intro.
I always imagined something like multimodal, and how we could use that to expand input options. FOr example, what if we made something like holsters for the controllers? So in many games, we can use the hands naturally and then pull out our controllers(usually as guns) when needed. That would feel much more natural than having to awkwardly stick to only one type of input.

On Topic: I'm also very surprised that Sony, one of the biggest companies, saw your criticisms and actually took it extremely well! True, it does show that they want to make their product better and better as time goes on seemingly more confidently than any other companies I've seen. Congrats Thrill!

If they got hand tracking working this well on quest 2, I wonder how good it will be for quest 3 on launch and then years later after updates.
on the Mocopi thing, it's likely the development and/or press team for the device we have to thank. I doubt sony on the larger side had much to do with it. but I'm glad your getting larger industry connections, I'm sure it'll open lots of doors for the future.

duuude I wanted to create a medieval vr game with a controller for the sword and hand for spells etc, and was so sad to learn it wasn't possible... I really hope they add it to quest 2 too eventually
The VR community has already been divided due to restrictions on some games. Such as echo arena and echo combat. As far as I am concerned, that’s already a divider. However I understand why. I mean, the PCVR and quest community are so different in a lot of ways. We play different games, have different hardware, varying amounts of accessibility, and tinkering, and other things. I think it all comes down to our egos. We just got to tame our egos before we can make a more connected VR community.

I really hope the Multi Modal Support would let the quest can do something similar like Index Controller's Finger Tracking for VRChat?
I see that the finger does seems to move when holder the controller there.
The reason why it's not mentioning it for Quest 2 is probably due to the Tracking Ring pretty much blocking a few fingers from the front?
Omg cant wait to use my hands in vrchat, then pick my controlers up and move around and do everything again. then put them away and use my fingers. its such a massive improvement i cant put it in words

Hopefully Mocopi moves off OSC and can interface directly with SteamVr. That would be a big boon for the products lag for tracking.
It would be good to keep both since it can work with standalone Quest VRChat via OSC.
Sony Listened to the community. They listened to you! Yea they got a big bunch of goodwill from me, on top of actually fixing the stuff that made Mocopi the no go, that does make me consider that. May be the ideal FBT for me now, need to think still but those things are looking good now
The latency issue may be also fixable through software. I hope so, they did show that they are willing to fix issues, so maybe, maybe not, depends on how complicated that is. And if the set becomes more popular with either V-tubers or VR players. For one of them the latency is right out a non issue. Seems the initial marketing was targeted at the tiktok/V-streamers, but you along probably poor sales woke them to the crowd that really wants a product like this. All remains to be seen, but the important part is, they are willing to correct their mistakes if the customers want it.

Is the latency that much more noticeable for Mocopi with the new update? I've been wanting a new fbt solution since I've been stuck with the Vive 2.0 trackers with my Quest 2, and getting anything other than SlimeVR will either be really expensive or just a downgrade in tracking and I don't really wanna wait for SlimeVR to ship out again

Soooooo when is video comparing this to the other 3 mentioned full body tracking devices? Also have you ever tried something like the teslasuit? If not id love to see a video going in depth with a review on either a fbt suit (just tracking) or a haptic suit that also has good fbt.

Please don’t buy Mocapi. Look into what Slimes are like now. They’ve been improved so, so much since they were last showcased by Thrill and beat Mocapi by an insane margin.
QOTW: I know you’ve made a couple of videos already on this topic, but what do you think about Echo VR (the game shutting down next Tuesday) and the precedent that this makes for other VR games (especially coming from meta)?
