NEW Serum Update January 2019! Awesome new features!!
This is a test version not an update. I really appreciate your enthusiasm however it is creating me a lot of email asking why they don't see the update.
Hi Steve, so sorry about that, I did clearly state a few times that it is not the final version etc, and where it is available. I guess people don't like to read or listen to anything, so sorry about that. I have edited and description to try clear the ambiguity.

Your plugin is amazing, but i really miss the regular ARP section in it. Would help a lot.
It would be insane if they added a third osc
If there were a vote on things to double up on, if it were a possibility, I would go with a second main filter and some routing capabilities between the oscs/filter, I feel you can get enough out of the two oscs and some of the resample features in serum :)

Haha it's a pleasure, i've seen a few bugs reported, however smooth sailing for me so far, so if you're worried about stability maybe old off until official, I don't mind sacrificing stability to showcase the new features though :)

I'm for the serum even more settings and effects gets, for example, in addition to the OSC, the filter should still be on a filter 2 with more new effects or a third OSC or new forms and and and that makes it even more fun the more of the do better

Serum is really trying to push to be the best vst on the market, you can see the guys work super hard on their product. Recently heard avalon say Serum might be the best vst for fm synthesis in his opinion
Not for FM, kind of limited there actually.
@kickdje If you're referring to the hybridizing feature then you don't need to use presets to take advantage of that. Make your own and use it. It's an awesome feature and for an update I'm pretty satisfied.

Nah, Serum is awesome and straightfoward for WT, but e. g. Avenger is more capable and still has awesome visualisation. Only bad thing about Avenger is the rusty looking UI.
Serum is created by a single guy called Steve Duda.

All of Bitwig devices can work with MPE, so it's not just the VSTs pushed by the manufacturer. If you have Bitwig or Waveform, you already have MPE, though I've not done much testing with Waveform (I own it, but not using it all that much) as I have with Bitwig.
Yea, I just said that often the best plugins it works best with are supplied with it :)
@@DashGlitch Did the Seaboard Block offer Bitwig 8-Track? I didn't think it did, but I got Bitwig Studio & the Seaboard Block at the same time last April.

Can Serum be used as a sampler? I render note sets from Neutron now and I really love Serum's filters. Would be cool to use them to post process analog sets (in a polyphonic mode)!
Not as a chromatic sampler no, you can however drag/drop waveforms into the view and use them as wavetables, i've done this with some modular sounds with great results! However it's on a single cycle basis so it won't be an exact representation of the sound. The other option would be to use a Sampler track like Cubase or Ableton's native one, and use the SerumFX plugin :)

I guess if any synth was worth renting Serum would be the one to consider' but to purchase n the full license, that is only for pros. The devs should turn Serum into a full DAW, with just this synth engine at its heart. Sort of like the old style Reason, a closed system DAW, as it were.

Already sounds amazing. Hopefully it'll support .uhm files (Hive wavetables), and the files for Avenger, Rapid, and Thorn once the update is released. Lmao. I played with the demo way2much.
@Mark Donald it supports surge, dune 2/3, wavegenerator, kubik, gladiator, electrax, and breaktweaker wavetable files. so, that proves that wavetables arent just .wav files, naysayer.

@@khalilsingh it will be worth the wait for stability reasons, as there are some reported bugs from one or two users on the forum, and there's no backward compatibility with presets, so if you update now and have issues, you may render a project useless until the official update

@@tuomasheikkinen9251 If you has a Xfer account, it would be easy to upgrade your Serum VST Program.
If you dont got a account, then make your own and go to Forum, then you can read that there is a forum where there they are talking about the new upgrade. There is also a link to download. Then you has to download the new upgrade, install it like a normal program and then, you got a upgraded version of SERUM :) .

6:00 this is just delay resonance aka comb filter, you can achieve this same exact sound with just flanger/phaser or allpass filter (or even just normal delay) plus some distortion where pre-filter would control tone of distortion, that's how tb-303 acid bass was made actually, the "formant" type filter was possible because of overdrive effect after the low pass filter of 303 itself which controlled the tone. thanks for letting me know that serum is still not worth your money and i can still stick to my daw's stock plugins
i mean dont get me wrong, serum is nice if you jumping daws a lot and want that one plugin thats so universal that it gonna work anywhere and you dont have to re-learn anything and i totally get the appeal, but i just prefer to know my tools in the daw i am given and not waste money on unnecessary tat that ultimately doesnt change the math behind sound creation

Guys how about a Lite version of Serum with less features? Something similar to Kontakt player that showcases a selection of some of the best presets.
