run for miles, every night for at least 6months, carrying 32lbs, do your basic training then reevaluate your choices. Don't be a glory boy when you'll be better suited in an support Squadron. Best of luck, from an old Sapper that went Commando.
Our Sappers are triple traded. They are soldiers 1st, then Combat Engineers and of course tradesman. We have a number of units that specialise in close support to the infantry etc, which include 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment, 24 Commando Royal Engineers and 32 Engineer Regiment. They all have to be able to use a variety of different weapon systems when conducting their varied roles.
You need to update the word "deployed" with "on the pish"
I’m interested in becoming a commando sapper :)
Well good luck and if you have any questions let us know.
Corps of Royal Engineers yes actually I was wondering how I would specialise and when can I after basic training
