For a bod to have a Northern Ireland tour , Iraq tour and Afghan tour I joined 1995 - 2018 (22) Even before my time to also have a Falklands medal there was not many who where still in Add to that a UN tour all the jubilee medals and long service good conduct medal Very quickly the medals can stack up
And do you think the whole ‘future commando’ is a publicity/recruitment tool or do you think Royal Marines will be turning back time to truly fill the role of a commando ? The way they make it out is that our presence as a country will be a lot stronger across the globe.
Cracking podcast lads, which specialisation is more focused towards being a high class soldier? Also I’m under the impression that within the new future commando force Royal Marines will be deploying in more countries on high readiness and increasing the UK’s commitment to NATO . Which specialisation would you personally feel would put you higher up on the list if a serious combat or emergency situation happened?
Great vid lads, some great information that i haven't seen elsewhere on you tube. Looking forward to the next instalments. Harry did you do a 'joining run' when you got to your unit or any type of initiation ????
you can specialise as an aircrewmen, where you’ll work with helicopters of the Commando Helicopter Force. You’ll be trained to work day or night in all conditions, and you’ll carry out important missions such as reconnaissance or getting troops and supplies to the front line. But this is more of a logistic role.
You know what I'm gonna do it I'm gonna go SBS... *Hasn't even started official RM training. But you know what if you had your mind changed because you wouldn't walk to the gym in the rain that's honestly telling of you I'm sorry to say.
What is the bloody point seriously I served never again this country is not worth fighting for you will get no help when you leave and your country has been invaded while you were away so simply just shove it
Really helpful, cheers
Loving this pod lads

Recce Troop/Mountain Leader/Sniper/Heavy Weapons. Any of those are the best Specialisations and SBS obviously.
@@user-kb9xc3jr8vthat's what I'm going for, recce troop if I get into 40 or the boarding team if I get into 42 which is my second option

Probably had to drink some vomit, get naked, drink some piss. Not too bad all in all
How soon do you join a specialism after passing out of basic training? i.e how quickly could you begin the mountain leader course for example?
think he said 18-24 months after he was in 43 he chose his specialisation.
Are there any opportunities to do with aviation in the marines?
incredible vid btw really enjoyed it
